guns today

I sold my sr16 (actually on this forum, before age verification came around) and got out of the sport a few years ago, and recently have had my interests piqued again, only I returned to find all the fun forums to be age verification required. I'm 29 so I know it'll happen with time, I understand that everyone is a volunteer and they have their own busy lives to attend to. In the mean time though I was hoping to get info on how much a decent gun goes for these days. looking online is obviously useless as you can usually only find u.s. prices, which dont reflect the market in canada, regardless of how strong our dollar is

I've been looking at a few guns and was hoping I could get someone to reply or pm about an average price for something like (new or used)

ca M15A4 Tactical Carbine

or a

CA g36c

I know prices can vary for hopups and mods, but I'm looking to start budgeting on how much I'll need to re-enter the sport with a good gun. 500+ $ is not a problem, I'm not looking to post up the typical "where can I get a full metal body for $150", I just want to get an idea of the guns that caught my eye. I know its a pricey sport, just looking to keep my interest going until I can arrange for age verification.

I know I know, all info is contained within the forums once I'm age verified, I'm just sure it likely that has the possibilty to take a bit of time. I also know that the search function exists, but finding prices on guns is usually hard as a post from two years ago might not reflect current market values.

thanks

Dan

I'd say 500ish, give or take, it depends whats all envolved with the sale.

if ur in Burnaby then why dont you come out to the game at panther field this saturday? we'll carpool and one of the age-verification guy will be there

M15a4 has more upgrades.

CA g36c I don't think you can get a metal body with this.

Congratz on coming back!

guns on craigslist are SOOO fucking rip off...

jesster202 August 20th, 2008 19:46

Dude theirs tonns of afordable guns on the boards(wont go into details dont want to get into any trobble but their is tonns of great deals to be sought after and some that arnt). As for crigslist some ppl are bs on their lots of smuggled guns and some not so much worth going after but beware of it!

panda86 August 20th, 2008 19:53

There's definitely some good deals in the buy and sell section, but obviously you need to be age verified first.

$500+ is a good place to be, with all the issues lately with airsoft, prices have fluctuated from what you would see on an online US site (eg: TM AEGs can be bought in the US retail from $250 - $300) but in Canada the price can be more even for used ones.

I've seen some of the ones locally on Craigslist, they are a bit overpriced and I question what condition they are in / quality, and how people are getting them, but I'm not going to get into that.

I agree, you can do more options / upgrades if you want to go the CA M15 route. Depends on really what you want to do with it in the future.

PS: I'm from BBy too!

thanks guys,

I'm still looking through the new crop of guns and trying to find the perfect fit. Also trying to fit my playstlye, I've got a good mid to long range shot and wonder if the g36c's slightly shorter barrel might affect my longshot. bit of a pain for the age thing, though I understand wheres its coming from

Shirley August 20th, 2008 20:44

The reason why they are rip offs is because some people don't know what the real prices are. Some people probably have money and oh, airsoft, looks real and they buy it. Sellers may get lucky if they get buyers. Just want the profit.

I would either go for a a longer G36K or an M4 variant with a standard length barrel and avoid any CQB type lengths of barrels if you want a longer, more stable shot.

Nik12 August 20th, 2008 21:31

Dude, wait for age verification, then look for the little boxes.

Until then, consider an M16 if you plan on long range engagements (with no plans for CQB/CQC). MP5's can offer alot of good things aswell, but really all round goodness tend to come in the G36 package.
