gungas.com not responding to my emails

i hate doing this type of stuff, but it seems to be what gets the results, sadly.

I placed and order over 24 hours ago and sent the EMT along with the password and order number to the proper emails.

Around 6 hours past the placement of the order I sent an email asking what was taking so long to accept the EMT. i have yet to receive a response to that email or a second one I sent more recently.

As I said, I HATE doing this type of stuff. i can understand taking more then 1 business day to accept a payment, but the lack of response to my emails is concerning.

Sorry if I upset anyone, and just in case I went to town and grabbed one of these before posting this.

24 hours isn't all that bad. Give it some time and if they don't accept your EMT just cancel it, you should have that option in your online account. Or, if you're really concerned, cancel the EMT now.
They'll see that it was cancelled when they go to accept it and question it, you should get a response right smart if that's the case.
Think of it this way, you haven't been burned for any money yet so you're still up one. If you don't get a response stop the transfer til you get some good communications with them.

You're buying something from a store clerk. You put your product on the counter, he/she rings it through and tells you the price. You put the money on the counter and they walk away (for some reason).
A bit rude? So you take your money back and walk out (leaving the product of course). Same idea. Money's still your's.

Endymion July 18th, 2008 13:19

How long past 24h did you send that EMT? Often I've noticed that it takes a few for the EMT to arrive at the receiver's end.

It is also customary to allow 24h or so for a reply to e-mail. Unless you had sent that EMT more than 30h ago, you're jumping the gun. GunGas is not a large corporation - they're a small operation busy fulfilling orders. Give it a little time.

Devinian July 18th, 2008 13:44

Depending on how large the payment was, the bank could be holding it too. Happens sometimes.

Cobrajr122 July 18th, 2008 14:03

Its been 27 hours since the EMT was sent. And yes, it WAS sent, the benk is not holding it.

And fly 9, The thing is, its not the money I'm concerned about, the product I ordered is a must for the the use of my new GBB

Has the EMT been accepted? If it's been sent but not accepted than I'd give them some more time. If they took your money they should definitely be responding to emails though. Also, gungas.com is run by airsoft-innovations.com if I understand correctly. They are very reputable and will get back to you.

Cobrajr122 July 18th, 2008 14:27

The EMT has not been accepted, but confirmed sent by my bank.

i know it is run by AI, that's why i was so concerned by the lack of response after all the great things i have read about them.

dpvu July 18th, 2008 14:31

If it hasn't been accepted by gasguns.com then they haven't taken your money and you have nothing to worry about. They'll get back to you as soon as they can.

They haven't accepted the EMT either so that suggests that they're busy at the moment. Do you really need this THAT soon?

Here's an explanation.

Fuck, I hate when people freak out when they don't get immediate responses like the world is at their beck and call. Sorry to snap and all that, but show some fucking patience.

Cobrajr122 July 19th, 2008 11:40

the use of such a website with the ordering system would lead people to believe otherwise.

Moderate July 19th, 2008 11:47

I waited a week after EMT was sent before they actually shipped my package. It took them a good 4-5 days before they accepted the EMT, and then another few days before they shipped it out. But I'm very pleased with service and product. A+ to Carl and his gang ;)

mopic July 19th, 2008 11:50

I have waited 72 hours + to accept an EMT, He could be out of town Etc.
In some cases if there is a problem with an item I will not accept an EMT until further direction has been received. Cut them a little slack, This is a very, very busy time of the year.

Just because it's an ordering system doesn't mean it's a large corporation with a large capacity. Airsoftparts.ca has a great cart/ordering system and that is one guy behind the scenes stocking, shipping, answering emails etc.

If you're so dissatisfied with not getting a reply within 2 days, cancel your order and cancel your EMT and get your goods somewhere else. We're telling you that the people there are good and will come through. They are some of the most reputable people in the community and they are just busy right now or could even be having technical issues with their email. It's not like they are ignoring just you for some reason.

In any case, it's the weekend and even if they processed your order, it can't be shipped until Monday. There's no point in complaining about it now.

These people are busy. Answering emails (especially in a large volume) takes time! And you're not even sure they READ it yet.

MadMax (Carl) runs the business himself and handles things personally. That's a great thing because he is an incredibly hard working, stand-up guy. He's always got "customer first" in mind when he's conscious.

Unfortunately, the flip side to handing so much in person is that he's human. He cannot {invent, design, troubleshoot, manufacture, QC, assemble, sell, bank, relate with business partners, and all the other things that goes along with running an invention oriented business} consistently 100% of the time...no one can. (yes...I know that he's got half a dozen guys assembling for him)

While I can appreciate your anxiety, the reality is that you'll just have to wait or find what you want somewhere else.

I do agree that "internet business" has set a general expectation that someone is there and working 24/7 and are only as far away as the "send" button...but you've heard/seen the reality of Carl's business (and a lot of other small online businesses in Canada).

Carl's a stand-up guy...I'm sure that he'll come through for you.

Been waiting a week for a reply. EMT was sent at time of order and has been sitting there unclaimed. Not sure if he's on vacation but I'd really like to find out whats going on.

I know you're busy Carl, just hoping someone else out there thats in touch with you can let the rest of us know whats up. Do you have another reseller we can order from?

Thanks!

infernal August 7th, 2008 15:57

Got word he's out of town and has some guys covering his end of things while he's away.

Cheers!

warbird August 7th, 2008 18:03

Haha, just bad luck.

Mantelope August 8th, 2008 00:24

Rumour has it he's in Japan, pimping his grenades for the Black Hole show.

Gigaknight August 8th, 2008 00:40

Awesome, so you guys are saying I just happened to order on a bad day? I've been waiting nearly two weeks to get my stuff and it was packaged about 4 days after I paid.

I've got a PM in to him to find out what the game plan is here. Obviously the guys he left in charge to look after his business are having some problems getting everything under control... Carl has been pretty good about getting back to me within a day or so when I send him a note here, so hopefully when he gets back he can sort everyone out proper.

Cheers.

Aquamarine August 8th, 2008 10:59

Yes, Carl is 'AFC' (Away From Continent) at the moment. He will be returning shortly, please be patient and bare with A.I.

MadMax August 8th, 2008 23:23

Sorry, I have been out of the country this past week. My guys have been fulfilling the practical side of business (shipping, manufacturing etc.), but they have been too swamped to handle emails in a prompt manner. When the sh*t hits the fan business goes triage priority mode: fulfill shipments, manufacture resupply inventory, handle admin duties. Sorry, it makes us look really unprofessional, but we're a small operation still with high surge demand issues. The best we can do at this point is make sure shipments go out the door even if shipping notifications fall by the wayside. Bad optics, promptish delivery.

Last week was particularly hairy. We just moved and I had to jet to Japan on business. Before last week I was the primary manager. Last week one of my guys got deputized to do the job for the first time in a new location. Now that I'm back, I'll start addressing the issues that fell thru some pretty troublesome cracks.
