Warrior L96

I was looking through BuyAirsoft.Ca, to find a good, sniper rifle, at a decent price. I immediately found this:

http://buyairsoft.ca/catalog/product...roducts_id=372

I was wondering if any of you guys had this model. I'd like more information on this gun. I'd have to say the reviews on the site are awesome, and the FPS is amazing ; 460-480.

It fits my needs, but I want a little more info on it.

Thanks

SDS_ShooterMcGavin April 24th, 2008 19:09

Amos would be good to talk to but theres actually a Review on this gun in the Reviews section, check it out.

tycho April 24th, 2008 19:10

If you want info why not search the forum/google?

Kos-Mos April 24th, 2008 21:04

In short, if you are on a budget, it is a good rifle for under 400$

If you plan on upgrading it, it is a good rifle, as almost all the "important" parts will be swaped to upgrades anyways.

The big difference over a Maruzen APS-2 Type 96 (the gun this clone is based on), is the finishing quality. There is nothing a good sanding and a fresh coat of paint can't solve.

Some internal bolting point might also have to be reinforced. (It was the case with my Well G22, mostly the same rifle, just gaz powered and different stock)

kalnaren April 24th, 2008 21:27

It's not amazing, but it's decent for a budget sniper rifle.

darknightelf2 April 24th, 2008 22:33

Its a great gun, i can easily hits man size at 120ft without my scope. Right now no issues after 1500, 0.28bb, Fps must be down to 400 with .28 but the accuracy is a lot better than 0.20 i would recommend 0.30 if you DONT want to upgrade it and have the maximum accuracy you can get with it. I got to check my hop up right now im doing some real long shots and the bb are going up at 130ft. Really fun to charge ,a bit heavy with the bipod on, but you really need it it help a lot. Right now really happy with it.

Amos April 24th, 2008 22:41

They're decent guns, but still nothign compared to a fully upgraded non-clone.

There are fitment issues with some stuff...

If you're unsure about sniping / want a wall hanger get one of these, if you want to seriously become a sniper in airsoft... Avoid it like the plague.

twissy April 29th, 2008 17:51

Alright, i'll have a look. But the brand isn't listed on the site, does anyone know what it is?

mike909 April 29th, 2008 18:03

I was just looking at that :D Looks good and sounds good. But im never going to buy from there after my last purchase.

twissy April 29th, 2008 18:56

What happened?

TufFguy22 April 30th, 2008 14:10

twissy April 30th, 2008 16:03

What's wrong with that one?

prefy April 30th, 2008 16:14

I would suggest giving the search button a try. I havn't been here that long but for the most part people have had bad experiences with the site.

It's hidden in the part#...

[SR.WellL96BK]

... so it's a Well L96 - Black.

you have to be joking..

twissy April 30th, 2008 17:31

Alright, thanks guys.

I'll think i'll go ahead and buy it, in 2 weeks actually, i'll be 18 :)

diamond_SEA April 30th, 2008 18:04

Ill just go ahead and suggest buying an AEG first. It lets you get in the game more. Any decent length AEG on semi-auto can shoot as far, if not farther, just as accurately as the Warrior 1 stock.

Just not as consistent. But I agree if you don't have AEG buy it first and just sling it to your back for those over whelming situations where you might need more than 1 shot per second.

No... he's pretty much right.

My M14 is better than my L96 was when it was stock.

The only advantage the L96 had was it was much quieter. I could shoot at people and not have them be able to locate me by the sound of the motor

SDS_ShooterMcGavin April 30th, 2008 18:17

I wanted to ask you something Amos... Got my L96, PDI hop-up is paid for and on the way... How far does the stock inner barrel go up to? Could I squeeze a M16 barrel in there? I think its only 9mm bigger.

twissy May 2nd, 2008 16:11

I'm not planning on playing games yet, just fool around with my friends, and take some long-range shots.!

Kos-Mos May 2nd, 2008 17:10

You NEED an new barel, as the stock one is not made the same way.

You need a 500mm barrel. I used one from an M14, but the stop screws won't be in the notches on the barrel.

Still works perfectly. For AEG it is a problem, but not for that the PDI hop-up chamber.

I am using a M16 509mm 6.04 tightbore from DeepFire. So far, I get a perfect flat flight up to about 200'.

jonathon May 3rd, 2008 19:54

i was going to get the same thing but i cant get their phone number or address so i was wondering if u could tell me or if u could tell me if buyairsoft.ca is reliable and wont scam me out $320.

jonathon May 3rd, 2008 20:33

i emailed them and they did not tell me their phone number or address because of security resins or something which is pretty dumb because i don't know why and this makes me very suspicious that they will scam me.

let me put it into perspective

you can either go and get some shitty fast food or you can take the time and cook a nice meal yourself

not the best scenario to use i guess but thats all the help your getting from me

edit: let me explain furthur

why go to someone else asking for something when you can simply find out yourself with a little bit of work and dont say you dont have time for that if you can go from thread to thread begging for spoonfeeds you can use the fckin search function

now the soup kitchen is closed

jonathon May 3rd, 2008 20:44

k il get age verified, where do u go to?

TokyoSeven May 3rd, 2008 20:45

Someone wanna just link all the shit reviews of buyairsoft so he shuts up and goes away?

It seems like your statement from the other evening of reading the faqs was nothing more than smoke and horseshit.

How about this time you actually read the f**king FAQ's, and use the 'search' function..

jonathon May 3rd, 2008 20:58

you know what, all i did was ask a simple question and all u do is make it complicated.

twissy May 8th, 2008 21:05

Apparently buyairsoft.ca has good reviews, not here on ASC, but on the site. I might go ahead and purchase it.

...maybe because
1) they delete bad reviews
or
2) The very, very few people who don't get screwed are the only ones that bother to leave reviews?

Why is it that 90% of the community says "don't buy here", and yet nubs continue to ignor it and say "they have good reviews on their own website!"..

kranflarc May 8th, 2008 22:25

Because people are cheap and well its like the FAQ, even though when the answer is blatantly obvious people will ignore it and go with whatever they want even after they ask to be spoonfed.

Mad Dog May 24th, 2008 00:43

Alright, since i got a question about that gun, i suppose i should post it here rather than start a new topic....

I have seen somewhere around the forum(Forgive me for not being able to find the topic again), that there are some Do's and don't concerning the lubricant used with the internals of some Airsoft rifle.

The L96 quite apparently needs lubricant, since most of it's barrel is metal against metal, sliding every time you reload.

My question: What type/brand/etc would be recommanded to keep everything smooth and functional. I know i've seen somewhere what we shouldn't use WD-40 on airsoft as it will eat through plastic or something...i just need clarification and know what to by and what to keep away from my guns.

Thanks a lot.

stevesawatsky May 24th, 2008 01:43

i can't tell you what kind of lube to use, but wd-40 is awful. it is NOT OIL, so don't use it like oil. it'll evaporate and you'll be in even worse shape than you were before using it.

my GUESS would be to use some kind of silicone oil.

No, it doesn't. The bolt moves back and forth. If the barrel moved, then the hopup would move, which would mean the gun would never be able to load :). If the bolt needs oil, lightweight silicone oil should do fine.

Okay, so my explanation was noobish to the core XD...Thanks though to have seen what i ment through it.

They are legit, just there stock has alot of lemons in it. So it's like winning the lottery if you get a good actual working one.

kamikaze33 February 3rd, 2009 18:26

oo. i know their 'legit' what i mean was legitly a good dealer aka no lemons. but thanks ill post on here what my experience with them is.

CJay February 17th, 2009 21:55

well coming from an airsoft VET - we played with these things in scotland in loadsa games and we had no issues with them - superb guns for the price u pay - in fact they were hella cheaper too but thats the canadian airsoft economy for ya lol - get ur wallet burned every time :P hehe, but at least its consistent!

ALSO... contrary to what alot of people on here have said I ordered one from buyairsoft.ca and literally recieved it the next day in the post. Can also safely say that I'm delighted with it - Can't say that they do good all the time but any of the guys i know that have ordered have had no problems - just don't try using anything under 0.28's and yer fine on the accuracy side - ok so yer FPS suffers but any good airsofter will tell ya that FPS and accuracy have very little to do with each other - just cos a ball goes faster don't mean its gonna go straighter.

One tip for this gun tho - make sure u give the barrel a good soak in silicone oil then wipe it out - cheap manufacturing processes mean they cut out the good old fashioned oil bath and u wouldn't believe what that does for performance. Also go in and tighten up the outer/inner barrel support grub screw or u'll be watching ur hop change horizontal pitch sometimes.

Out the box the gun is great but if u want that little extra from it then just clean and tighten it up. And just in case ppl, ur reading this from a guy who used to own the original version, and although i will defo agree that it is lightyears better, as clones go this is top notch :P and as somebody said - upgradabillity is pretty damned good :D

For the guy that asked the question in the first place - if u buy or have bought this gun then its a damned good little gun but thats just my own opinion - make up ur own mind and let the beurocratic idiots (the very few of them) on here argue amongst themselves - u'll soon learn that asking a question on here is like stirring up a bloody hornets nest then painting ur ass with honey and wagglin it in their general direction lol.

so good luck and welcome to airsoft canada lol ;)
