magpul masada

I was checking out the magpul masada the other day and wondered if any manufacturers are making or have announced plans to make a replica of the magpul masada?

surebet January 10th, 2008 03:12

Magpul will eventually turn one out.

Drake January 10th, 2008 03:29

Considering how behind they are just putting out the UBR (real one, nevermind the PTS version) it might be a long while before we see a Masada.

f150monster January 10th, 2008 14:53

Hopefully it's not too long of a wait. That gun is pure sex:D

ThunderCactus January 10th, 2008 17:00

its what the SCAR should be, less M4A1 and more G36 lol

IRONSIGHT January 10th, 2008 17:16

To me it looks like a SCAR with a G36 style trigger group instead of an M4 Style trigger group, and a ribbed sleeve over the front rails. Even the stock (wich everyone hates on the SCAR) is almost identical. I can't believe so many people love this thing but hate the SCAR. Don't get me wrong, I like it but no more or less than the SCAR.

Danke January 10th, 2008 18:57

See now I like the SCAR type stock with the adjustable cheek rest. I also like the fit of the SCAR/M4 trigger and selector switch over the G36 style. It's more natural to go from S to fire. Those Belgians know guns and beer. I can't say though if it makes up for the Singing Nun.

Solizone January 13th, 2008 15:30

Having seen a real Magpul masada, I have several problems with it. First the fire select switch is so low and close to the grip that your hand actually rests right on top of it. Very unconfortable and it could be accidentally switched. Also, the charging handle is right below of the top rails so if you have an optic, it could get in the way when cocking it. same if firing left handed with the case deflector in the way also. This could be fixed by having the charging handle slightly angled down and the fire selector higher. These problems with the real Masada could be the same with the Airsoft version too. These problems arn't too bad though. At least not for airsoft. About the stock, it's actually very sturdy and has no flex unlike the M4 stock. When you pull the Masada stock all the way out, (the 8th position) the cheek rest is pretty far forward that you have to have the worst firing posture to rest your cheek otherwise you just rest on the back stock. Semi unconfortable. My $0.02 LOL the stock on the SCAR looks like a foot as shown here (not my pics):

I have personaly handled the MASADA at the Shot Show 07 and loved it. The charging handel angle has of now already been changed which should make it perfect now. I AM(No mater what!LOL) going to get the real MASADA and the PTS (Airsoft)version(I'm in the US).

Anyone see the FutureWeapons on Discovery about 2weeks or so ago. I have it recorded on DVR. MMMM had all the versions of the MASADA....bliss...Oh yea, anyway. Magpul said mid 08 release for the real version, airsoft version has not tecnicaly ben confirmed... but I have unofficial word of mouth conformation from MAGPUL that it will be out around the time of the RS MASADA release.
The main one on FutureWeapons was the black 5.56 NATO 11.5 inch version with an AAC M4-2000, EOTech 553 and 4X FTS, and a Tangodown vertgrip, I cant wait.

I was there too! we might have had seen each other :D I sure hope they did changed the angle of the charging handle. Do you know if they changed the selector switch too? that was a bit low for me. You should really upload the DVR on Youtube, I had my VCR set to record but I set it to AM instead of PM so I never go to watch it.

attack-beaver January 13th, 2008 17:09

+1 that. But even the realsteel version is still in "pre-production."

Given that the UBR replaces the whole stock tube, the PTS/airsoft version would have to be a different design and I'm left wondering if Magpul will bother. I'm really not sure how committed they are to the PTS line.

HaZarD SFD January 13th, 2008 20:33

Hmm I wish systema would make a Masada PTW

They may still. I remember Madbull had originally been mentioned in regards to the PTS version of the Masada, but last November Magpul PTS had announced they were partnering with Systema for their internals.

As they say, "AK for the masses and FN for the classes".

Cassius January 14th, 2008 13:31

Holy fuck that's hot.

VFC or CA? So far the VFC only seems to have the bolt catch function when compared to the CA.

And what would be best; black or tan??

finally, does it take regular M16 mags?

SEALs January 14th, 2008 13:54

its VFC for sure since it has trades. Yep regular m16 mags and for the color, depending the areas you're playing! I play alot in desert environment so for me it would be tan.

Cassius January 23rd, 2008 21:31

just bought myself a brand new VFC SCAR in tan with an AAC flash hider :D

Can't wait to have this baby :D

attack-beaver January 23rd, 2008 21:56

funny thing is they kept talking about the AK lower but did any one see them use it?

LeapingLizard January 26th, 2008 01:58

I believe it's a masada lower (and barrel) only for the 7.62x39 (AK47) round.

Cassius January 26th, 2008 11:18

That's what he meant.

They built a Masada able to carry the AK rounds but they never used it.

Kokanee January 26th, 2008 12:19

i like futureweapons for the indepth examination of weapons systems, but i just can't bear to watch the uber-cheesy "missions" they do to make the show run longer...

Tex February 16th, 2008 03:05

bump but with news.

Magpul Masada final production version will be from Bushmaster

http://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/2...ushmaster-acr/

El Cactus Loco February 17th, 2008 14:21
