Opinion? TM EBB Glock 18C

Hi guys. New to the forums.

Interested in the TM EBB Glock 18C (found here; bottom of page). Any opinions on said weapon? Good/bad/neutral? (As a backup weapon that isn't completely terrible; not interested in spending several hundred on a handgun. Also interested to use it for some fun target practice outside the games.)

Thanks.

Used to own one, it's not really an appropriate backup weapon for 99% of situations. The effective range is really, really short and the round takes forever to reach a target. For target practice, it generally won't even punch through paper targets at anything more than 15'.

What do you suggest?

Go for a Canadian Tire Mini, a TM mini, or save up for an AEP. I dunno how much the USP or Glock AEP is, but the EBBs are already at 150, plus the fortune you'd spend on batteries.

Get a GBB and if it's your first one best to stick with a TM model. They are affordable, run propane without any problems, and have much better perforamce than a EBB.

Plus GBB's are allot more fun to use than a EBB pistol.

ChiefInTrees January 2nd, 2008 12:40

The difference between an EEB and an AEP is huge. EBB is next to completely useless, whereas an AEP is great.
But the GBB is really the king of backup guns.

The Saint January 2nd, 2008 12:41

What is your current budget? And are you over 18?

ProbeJax January 2nd, 2008 12:55

The difference in price between an AEP and EBB is only about 100 bucks, right?

A guy that I game with has a TM18C EBB and other than something to have in your holster as a fashion accessory it is totally useless.

Good know. Thank you all. (There is ton of stuff to learn about Airsoft weapons... crazy.)

Found this little guy: Tokyo Marui SIG Sauer P226 (pic). Any thoughts? (GBB. Gas Gun.) With GBB-based handguns, what accessories do I otherwise need? (Can of gas, etc. Anything that isn't included.)

No_Way January 2nd, 2008 13:41

You can answer your question by reading the FAQ.

I'm sure you'll find enough information before getting something.

Get Age Verified to !

Probably one of the best gas guns you can buy. Get that, a propane adaptor (www.airsoft-innovations.com) and a tank of propane.

zeroscore January 2nd, 2008 13:58

Cool, thanks. Where exactly does the propane sit in the gun?

Crunchmeister January 2nd, 2008 14:20

You charge the magazine up with propane / whatever gas. That's what you need the AI propane adapter for.

Greylocks January 2nd, 2008 14:20

Inside the magazine.

Fill out your profile, get age-verified, and check the deals in the Classifieds section.

For the original question, EBB are crap. AEP seem to be a far different idea but I dont own one.

No_Way January 2nd, 2008 15:25

Already get the EBB TM Glock 18C, mags are ugly, eat batteries like dog eat homework, safety grip, fire selector don't work, place elsewhere, range is shit. Blowback is cool, look nice, solid, good for a wall hanger.

I got the AEP Beretta M93R. Eat batteries like dog but rechargeable. Mag look a little realistic but they have hi-cap look like (insert an ugly thing here). Have many add-ons you can put. Reliable on cold day. Nice for CQB. fps = ok. No blowback !

The TM P226 is a great pistol out of the box, one day you'll need to change the slide ! But you can abuse her for a lot of mag on propane.

Like Greylocks said, Complete your profile, Get Age Verified and get a GBB/AEP in the classified. You'll probably find a great package !

i have a TM EBB Desert Eagle, and i find throwing the BB's is more effective

zeroscore January 2nd, 2008 16:33

Thanks for all your help. I think I've settled on that handgun.

As per rifles, if I wanted an entry-level rifle that just shoots decently (nothing exceptionally superior), what are your thoughts on these models?

Right now, for opinions, why not simply go to the TAC event planned by Brian? Then you get to see it all AND get age-verified instead of depending on opinions.

Wilson January 2nd, 2008 18:31

I have a KSC Glock 18C GBB and I love it. Mind you, the fully automatic mode is wasteful and useless, with propane (or maybe with all charges) your mag of BB's are gone in the blink of an eye. Not tactically sound if you have a second target pop around the corner on you, and you're caught reloading.

I'd say any TM, KSC, or KJW GBB is a sure bet. I like the Glocks myself, and if you do too I'd suggest the G17.
