2005 Mk.23
Hey everyone, i must say that the search feature is on ASC is much better than i thought. Not only did i learn about the different between the 2005 and previous models of the Mk.23, but i also know how they are different. the one question i had that i couldn't find was whether or not the NEW Mk.23 models are set up like the single recoil spring setup or the more realistic model with the 2 stage recoil spring setup. So, if i were to buy the HW & HK KSC Mk.23 from 007 come June, would i get a 2005 "unrealistic", or a "realistic" version?
Thanks, Donster 125 P.S: Here is the link to 007, but you will have to scroll down. http://www.007airsoft.com/products/htm/gas-ksc.htm |
I believe this is the one with the recoil-reduction system.
BTW.. have you actually talked to ken about this? LIC, they were all back-ordered for close to 7 months.. |
If you look on WGC and other HK sites the normal heavy weight model is listed as sold out and the rest are out of stock.
Looks like I might have to cancel my order from A&A. |
im not planning to buy anytime soon. all i wanted to know was whether or not the newer version have the 2 spring or the single spring with regards to their recoil setup.

To finalize your question, the KSC Mk.23 recoil spring is only one not double. Trust me I had 2005 version Mk.23 My ex, http://www.airsoftcanada.com/gallery...to=2458&cat=41 Recommend upgrades; Shooter Design Mk.23 Phase 3 Metal Slide and barrel Guarder Upgraded recoil and hammer spring for KSC Mk.23 |
the earlier ones had a different blowback chamber and featured the dual stage recoil spring assembly
they changed a bunch of stuff around in the 2k5 ver yuu speaks the truth I owned the same MK23 he is talking about nice thing about the guarder kit is (I believe) it also comes with a reinforced part 66 =p |

Funny thing, I have the earlier model KSC MK23 according to one exploded parts diagram I have, and compared it to what UNC has as a diagram for the Airsoft Surgeon 380 upgrade kit. Mine has the dual spring recoil system, and the solid steel recoil spring guide as shown in the early diagram, but it doesn't have the basic blowback system as shown in said diagram, it has the same thing as what the UNC diagram has for the 380 kit.
BTW, I have the 380 kit en route and I'll post up what I think of it, testing and such. At first I didn't think I'd be able to use much form the upgrade kit due to the differences betwen diagrams, then I realized the old diagram isn't the same as I have except for the dual spring/one piece rod. Oh, seen a couple posts in the US that state the two peice recoil rod has a tendancy to break. Am glad mine is a solid chunk of good steel! |
I had the one piece recoil guide that blew apart after about a dozen shots. I put one of the 2 piece ones in and never had a problem since.

How does a GBB destroy a recoil spring guide made out of ~1/4"+ piece of solid steel and not destroy one made of weaker and thinner metal (the two piece is made out of cast metal, but the one piece if literally made on a lathe from homogenous steel)? I can understand how the two piece would get destroyed as per this post at airsoft retreat:
http://www.airsoftretreat.com/forums...?topic=46095.0 But the solid steel guide? It'd at least bend, but not break. You must have had the two peice and not known it. |
hmm could be. I found a pic of the destroyed one http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l7...ecoilguide.jpg. What i meant was instead of one picture I have the one with the dual spring setup.

Anyways, am looking forward to getting my MK23 to shoot over 380fps in the next month. :D |
|
so if i order a new one, will it have the 2 recoil spring or the 1?
lastly, from what i gather, it seems the single spring model (2005) is better cause the spring guide is solid steel and thus less prone to breaking. is that right? if i have this wrong, please correct me:) |

guys im seriously confused now:(

Kos I think you're confused. Isn't he saying they took the accurately replicated recoil rod and spring then replaced it with a simpler version with the buffer? Which means the 2005 would have the buffer whereas the older one would not.
