Experimentation gun.

I bought this crapsoft36C to test out my camo painting skills (Because at the time, I thought it would look good on my guns, and obviously, they don't.) However, I wasn't going to take spray paint to a Mauri or a Maurshin, so I bought this thing for 60 bucks. This was done with three different colors. Two different shades of green, and a tan-ish brown color. I think it turned out pretty bad, but I'll let you guys tell me that. :D

Yes, the rails work, yes I realise that it takes AK mags for some reason. Anyway, I'm thinking the next step for this gun is to be butcherized for some crazy airsoft experiment.

wtf?! Ahhh!

I've always been more into LC paint jobs, but this seems kinda effective... Unlike that Crap36c :p

ProbeJax September 29th, 2007 22:13

No kidding. Glad I didn't take spraypaint to my P-90. (What the hell was I thinking?)

Greylocks September 29th, 2007 22:15

I've seen worse, but why did you not simply use Krylon sprayed over random twigs and leaves placed on the gun?

I saw Foxtail, and others, do that to their guns and they look fantastic. Much simpler than trying to get a true cadpat or marpat look.

TokyoSeven September 29th, 2007 22:25

In time with practice and research you will learn and develop other methods of painting. In the mean time though, good job, keep it up you'll be doing up smexy paintjobs in no time.

Saw that technique in a movie. The Shooter, I think. Anyway, I WAS going to do that, but it didn't work out so well with this body.

What do you guys think I should do with this thing now? It's been hanging on my wall for a few months. I think it's time something happened to it.

LOL, I did that two years ago, after playing WAY too much Syphon Filter, and being bored listening to a lesson.

Scooby Steve September 30th, 2007 00:39

Well, you might want to make your albums private unless you want everybody to see all your stuff.

ProbeJax September 30th, 2007 00:44

I just did, but as you already saw, there wasn't anything worth seeing there anyway. Just old pics and such.

Back on topic: I was thinking about gutting it and taping it to the bottom of something else. Kinda like a poor man's M203. This thing can take like, 10 BBs into the chamber and launch them all at once.

Styrak September 30th, 2007 03:34

What THEEE fuck. Bastard child of a G36 and an AK?

In regard to your paintjob:
Not bad, very good first try. Check out hobby forums for methods to strip the paint if you ever need to.

Watch SHOOTER and you will get a lil bit of an idea of hw to use the twigs/leafs/etc on the gun while spraying. Another good way is to use netting to make a (kinda) digital look. The biggest thing is to break your gun up into pieces, so when you are in te bush it doesnt look un natural. Their are a few reviews on the web tha can help you out as well. But, I think it was a great idea to practice before doing.. Take a lok around and see what style f paint job you like and dont hurry it.

good luck bud.

Heh, it comes with a little replica scope that really is a laser sight, too. Those wierd notches on the top rail? That's for sliding the scope in, because they were too cheap to just get an actual mount for it.

Omi-san September 30th, 2007 13:23

Maybe this will rub some people the wrong way, but I don't understand the obsession with painting full camouflage patterns on AEGs.

Judging from the footage and photos available today, it seems like the vast majority of soldiers in Iraq or Afghanistan do not paint their guns. For those who actually do it, it also looks more subtle than just spray painting their gun from stock to muzzle. Sometimes you can't even tell whether it's intentionnal camouflage or mud/dust.

Anyone got an suggestions on what I should use as a casing for the internals? Don't exactly have an M203 body lying around.
