Quick question about eHobby

my net is cutting in and out, and using the search engines seem to kill it really quick...

all I need to know is; will eHobby ship magazines (black, metal, no fake bullets) through to me?

only reason I ask is when I click "buy" on ebay, it warns me that eHobby may not ship to my location...

just wondering, thanks.

As always, your milleage may vary, but I've recieved every single mag along with every single other non-restricted item I purchased from them

I've personally bought two high cap G36 mags from eBay from a separate dealer, and they arrived with no problem at all. So I guess it should be fine :B

THE CAT August 8th, 2007 00:25

No problems for me yet.

Graham August 8th, 2007 00:25

I too have bought mags from them, but they were clearly plastic magazines. I thought perhaos they might get nabbed because they are metal.

thanks dudes

Graham August 8th, 2007 00:48

also, why is it I'm only allowed to purchase 3 items at the moment?

seems to me I should be able to purchase as much as I wish at one time

sorry, I'm new to Ebay

Their inventory system is... iffy.

What's listed is what's available.

And FYI, there is no such thing as combined shipping for Canadians, unfortunatly. Still, even with the inflated shipping factored in, it's usually a nice deal.

my mags will be here today! and ya i ordered from Ehobby asia

trevor August 8th, 2007 01:31

you can only buy 3 things since your paypal is not confirmed-if you give your bank info paypal will add 2 deposits-mine were .16 and 0.12$. You tell them the deposits and you become verified. After you can order as many items as you want.

surebet August 8th, 2007 01:39

Shit, misread the question. Another advantage of doing the bank info thing is that your account will be bound to your bank account, therefore you can move funds either way with ease, although it's a tad slow (6-8 for clearing).

You only get the "may not ship to your location" because the default or something is US, and it doesn't have and option for Canada shipping. But rest assured anything unrestricted will get to you fine. I ordered a box of 8 magazines and a pistol holster from them.

Man, thanks a lot! I just went and blew some money on ehobby now!

You are mistaken. It may not apply to all products, but there is combined shipping.

I've recently had a belt and holster shipped together with a slight reduction in total shipping cost. They have it written somewhere that you just hold off on paying until they send you an invoice with all of your 'won' items together.

I just bought from them, what, 3 days ago? No combined shipping. Maybe it depends on the rep, I'll try your way next time.

Darklen August 8th, 2007 12:29

Graham, Ehobby will ship anything here, he just hasn't designated the shipping cost here. It'll be the same as the US shipping cost anyhow. The same "cautions" are used with Ehobby as anyone else in reguard to what you order.

thanks guys,

Bob, get of the computer and enjoy your vacation!

We did order m4 mags , the one with the gouvernement restricted only mag MAG. And they did not pass true the borders.

Darklen August 8th, 2007 23:08

Odd, I've ordered and received several boxes of the same mags and customs had opened and fondled everything in there. Still trying to get the smell out, not to mention the protoplasmic goo.

I have been using Ehobby for some time, this is what I do.

1. yes you can import mags metel plastic ect.
2. If you want to save money have ehobby declair the total value of your purchase as $20.00 even if you paid $200.00 for your items. by doing this you will avoid paying any duty and tax.
3.all large shipments get a tracking #, shiping time usuly takes 5-7 days to arive in Canada.

I have spent over 900.00 using Ehobby and have not had a problem yet

When I ordered the mg42 thing from Kushman they shipped it to me as a plastic toy and as a gift and it came through with no problems at all customs didn't even open the box. Anytime I have something shipped from the US I get them to list it as a gift and under $60.00 and have yet to get nailed for any duty or taxes

Having them under-declare the value of the lot may not prevent you from getting taxed if the custom officer decides it's worth more.

I recall seeing a story about a guy who ordered a bunch of Rolex presidential replicas, the kind that a tens if not hundreds of thoudands of dollars, and got taxed accordingly to their real worth. Custom's way of saying don't import replica watches, I guess...

So long as you avoid UPS like the plague, you won't get taxed too much. Even if you get taxed, it's not that bad.

I always add 30% of the final value of what I'm about to import, and compare that to the cost of what's locally available, to see if it's worth the risk and the wait.
