Why do they call 'em "Black Rifles"?

Just finished building this guy, painted it this afternoon. Inside, it's bone stock. Outside, VLTOR CASV front end, MODSTOCK, ergo grip, folding front sight / gasblock, Tri-rail with a surefire and cheap-o laser.

Still gotta wire it backwards, since at the moment I have no batteries to fit in the CASV.

LOL yeah, you caught that, eh? Doesn't fit behind the CASV, and I just threw it on HK style for the pic. I'll be throwing on the ARMS#40 tomorrow. On that note, I'll have to find a lower mount for the aimpoint since you can't cowitness with the extra height.

Looks like you should be able to get a lower 1/3rd co-witness with that set-up.

BTW, looks great!

LOL this is Viking's work, not mine. First one was my paint job, but after I saw the way Viking's came out we had to try it on my rifle. Should have said that earlier bud!

Amazing KG3 June 9th, 2007 16:42

THANKS ALOT! I look real smart now!

dontask June 9th, 2007 20:02

lol here Viking: YOU're amazing

Viking June 10th, 2007 13:00

LOL. Just joking around guys. Morb does his own work as well, and is on par with the quality you'd like to see in a paint job. This particular paint job is new to me; got the ingredients from the ECCO contractor guys out West. Many thanks guys.

BTW, buddy ~ We do need to get those masks for the next job. I was hacking Krylon all day yesterday from the garage! LOL!

HellRanger June 10th, 2007 13:07

Maybe We should sue Krylon for false advertising.... Those fumes will get to you no metter what they say!
