Anyone heard from anyone at Anderson and Anderson?

Hey all. I ordered a gun from Mark Anderson of Anderson and Anderson Airsoft (through ASC) mid-March. About three weeks ago, I asked if there was any progress on the gun, as it had been expected to arrive by the beginning of april. He told me that hopefully it would be there within the next few days.

Fast forward to May 5th, when I left him a message saying that this was twice the wait I had been told, and that as I was leaving the country for several months (I have long since left at this point), I wanted either a guarantee of arrival of the gun TO MY DOOR by Monday the 8th, or a full refund via EMT. However, Since writing this message, I have not heard anything from him.

However, I also noticed that he has not even been on this site since I sent the message. Therefore I was wondering A) what this guy's reliability was like (with those who have dealt with him in the past) and B) if anyone knows where he is. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

Thanks
~Nigel

Mark is a pretty reliable guy. I've ordered mags and stuff from him on several occasions without problems. The one gun order I placed with him though got really screwed up and I ended up cancelling it. I know a lot of other members here have ordered stuff from him without any problems at all. He's real busy with his store and sometimes things get overlooked.

Medic May 16th, 2007 11:43

I ordered and receceived my M4 within a week at the begining of the month

Zero May 16th, 2007 11:47

I did an order last week. Got my stuff in under 5 days.

Skruface May 16th, 2007 12:31

Mark is generally very reliable, in my experience. The only issue he sometimes has is that as a novice player, he doesn't know everything about everything when it comes to airsoft guns (reference the non-PCS Tanaka issue from a couple of months back). I'd guesstimate that 95% of his customers are satisfied with the product + service, but you can't please everyone - he does try, though.

Sometimes delays happen that are out of his control (for example, a overseas retailer liek WGC who shows a stocked item on a website; Mark places the order on behalf of a customer, and unknown to him the item is out of stock. He waits a week or more for it to ship, waits as the order clears customs, he gets the box and finds something is missing. Then he has to go back and track down what was ordered and why it's not iin the box, and the customer has already been waiting weeks or months).

I think it's important to understand that now, more than ever, there will be delays in getting items, especially special orders. With only a few retailers left, the ones that do exist are swamped, and they can't control what CBSA do with the packages once they get to customs.

I'm half in agreement with you.

When I order stuff that is in stock his service is fast and absolutely impeccable.

With respect to a pre-order I am involved in his communications has left some to be desired. I understand that he may well be facing many challenges and problems in importing, but I would like to be told about it or updated now and again. Monthly would be fine by me.

Never had any problems with orders from A&A. Always prompt reply's and delivery.

walks May 16th, 2007 13:09

I'm in the same situation. Based on other posts I asked him if he could get me a metal slide/outer barrel from Redwolf. He responded with a price and the words, "plus shipping". I emailed that I wanted the item and would pay as soon as I got a total cost. Haven't heard anything since and even bought a gun from him in the meantime and inquired about the order status. Still nothing.

You have sooo many other options for parts. Why not deal with airsoftparts.ca ? Jugglez has always kept contact. If there's a problem, you're the first to know... unlike some other retailers.

I'm aware of that but I did commit to Mark that I'd buy the item if he got it for me. Maybe it's en route, maybe it isn't. I'd just like to know either way. Other posts have indicated that frequent emailers go on his Ignore list.

Jesseeast May 16th, 2007 18:52

I just recieved my gun and ya hes a good guy took 1 week to get my gun from Manitoba to Nova Scotia. He might have sent your gun to someone else since he does get alot of orders.

bean May 16th, 2007 18:58

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't your age posted as 15, or something along those lines?

Anyway.. I think I was put on his ignore list. I was supposed to buy some USP mags a while back. He said he'd order them, and tell me when they'd be in. Never got a message after that.

ThunderCactus May 16th, 2007 20:28

alright i'll talk to him, on a sidenote, did any of you include your callsign in your email so he can verify your age?

Thanks, it's appreciated. I'm not age-verified yet; day-tripping to ASCA for that in a few weeks. That's my review on A&A for the TM Glock 17 so Mark can check my account that way.

Toronto

Been waiting since the 4th

Scooby Steve May 17th, 2007 22:39

3-5 business days once he sends it to you.

tetra May 17th, 2007 23:38

Heh I've been waiting way longer than that, I guess he must be real busy, sent him 3 emails in the span of 2 weeks, no reply yet

ValkXB70 May 17th, 2007 23:44

If you are not age verified on this site, he probably won't reply. Because yes, he does check...

tetra May 18th, 2007 00:27

what if i wasnt a registered user, how would he determine it then? He must age verify some other way

walks May 18th, 2007 04:35

hell I'm waiting for a reply and its been over a month and a half. and he has my $$$

arman May 18th, 2007 04:53

Mr Anderson is a good guy!! bought a AUG from him and left him hanging for another...he still anwsers my emails... but i do but lots of camo from him!! love the od pants

tetra May 18th, 2007 12:09

yeah, i believe he's a good guy, but half of the people seem to be getting problems lol

Dr. May 18th, 2007 12:28

Ordered a gun from him about a week ago (CA G36 "in stock").

Order went out next day and I got an Email from Canada post with a link to track it, gun should be here on the 22nd.

So far awsome service for an in stock sale

Kommandant_keen May 18th, 2007 12:33

i bought an m1 garand from rangers airsoft when it was still around. I specified M1 Garand and since it wasn't out yet, he assumed I meant M1 Carbine. He sent me the carbine, I had to return it after waiting 3 months already. Boy was i excited to unpack the box only to have that feeling rammed back down my throat. Then guess what? I had to wait another 2 1/2 months before getting it. I just ordered the PTW from Anderson. He's been quick to reply all my e-mails. I know that he has some communications with some people as I am currently talking to another guy on ASC who cannot seem to get a hold of him through e-mail. We both use hotmail. I remember that he said that AOL doesn't work for him cuz his e-mail sends it all to spam and junk box. Even after I paid, he was able to answer a few questions when i e-mailed him. So far so good, I hope it goes smoothly. Since dealing with the Marushin M1 Garand was so long already. I don't expect the PTW to arrive any sooner (especially with tightening CBSA).

tetra May 18th, 2007 14:19

Yeah, the gun I ordered was a Pre Order, but he had sent me an email 2 weeks ago saying it will be shipped, nothing yet, never replied.. Does anybody know this guy personally and can get in contact with him?

At the risk of sounding like a dinosaur you could always pick up the phone and call him.

Brian McIlmoyle May 18th, 2007 14:33

Adding all this pressure

Won't make things go faster.

I have not heard of anyone getting stiffed by A&A ... he's busy , leave him alone and wait for your stuff to come in.

with the issues with importing... he can't really predict when stuff will come in with any more accuracy than a month...

Order, pay, wait....

Sending him 5 e-mails in a day asking about the status of your stuff wastes your time.. and his...And eats into the time he needs to package and ship your orders.

tetra May 18th, 2007 14:44

I haven't sent him 5 emails a day. I've sent him 3 emails in the span of 2 weeks, which to me is reasonable.

And, i tried looking for the number and didn't find it.

I don't believe he's gonna stiff anyone, but I'd appreciate a response on knowing what's going on, It's a matter of customer service

Kommandant_keen May 18th, 2007 15:23

he's a 1 man business. This is not like a microsoft customer support. Even large companies have garbage customer support. Let's give him some space. I'll do my part and stop e-mailing him for at least a month. Hopefully if everyone follows suit, he may get a chance to get the urgent things done swiftly and efficiently out of the way. My first time ordering with him. But I hardly think that with the reviews from the past, he is that kind of guy.

When demand goes up, and volume goes up customer service goes down... particularly in small operations.... it is sad but true

what can you do? but wait....Its not like you can take your business elsewhere....

Then you need to look harder. I got if from a google search in about 10 seconds or less. I may even call him myself on Tues to get the status or a pre-order he has taken from me.

LD

Kommandant_keen May 18th, 2007 15:49

I agree, if concerned, call him. e-mail requires him to make the effort to contact everyone and dig through his massive inbox. Quick phone call and all he has to do is tell you and lifts a lot of weight off his shoulders. That way, you can free him up to help those who are looking for airsoft stuff just as we were before pre-ordering.

tetra May 18th, 2007 18:59

haha he didn't reply to me, but just emailed me the Canada Post tracking number today

I guess this enthusiasm helped HEH

ThunderCactus May 18th, 2007 19:23

hey fellas. i just have to say that i agree with the poster who said try calling him. it has worked for me and mark didnt have to worry about sending out any emails.

Kommandant_keen May 21st, 2007 12:54

To the few that have been bashing his customer service. I ordered the PTW a week ago and he shoots me an e-mail a week later confirming he received the mail order I sent him. Checking the junk-mail boxr may be a wise idea for those claiming he never replies because I nearly missed this one. Anyway since the PTW is supposedly a a pre-order, he got one in on friday that wasn't sold and now there is no months of waiting! No need to worry about customs as it is in his store already. Hope to get it within 2 weeks (1 week to clear the cheque and I'll give it about a week to ship it). I'll officially give him triple positive ratings when it actually arrives at my doorstep without too many signs of in-store fondling but so far so good!

underground May 21st, 2007 14:07

I've generally didn't have any issues with ordering from him except when it comes to ordering out-of-stock guns which can take weeks up to months. Maybe I'm just an impatient guy but aren't we all? I kept on emailing him but 1 out of 3 messages got replied back to. I asked him about this and he told me his junk mail picks up a lot of the emails that he recieves. Junk or not, he never checks his junk email. But overall, my guns came in under 2 months as Mark had stated when I first made the purchase.

glock4life May 31st, 2007 22:32

I just ordered a TM glock 17 2 days ago. Replied all the emails i sent him almost immediately(faster than 007). Received my tracking number right away. Gun should be here by next week wednesday. Great customer service, great advice, will definitely do business with them again.

Great guy I have always found that he has good service.

snakeeater June 1st, 2007 14:01

His site said it has 12 g3 mags in stock so i ordered 1. Was supposed to arive on the 18th, 2 weeks later he finally replays and says they are out of stock and says he still has to order some, from hk. That said, i got my first gun from him and it was great. So id give him...
3.5/5

ThunderCactus June 1st, 2007 17:05

never rely on his site, with everything else he does you guys are lucky it's updated more than once a month lol
I fully endorse 007 airsoft, so don't be afraid to order from them either :)

Cortexburn June 1st, 2007 17:12

From all accounts...he needs to hire someone to help him out, the only issues I've heard of stem from being too busy to stay on top of things which have lead to miscommunication or lack there of.

Brian McIlmoyle June 1st, 2007 17:24

Classic "one man operationitus"

You know we should all be thankfull that there is a retailer that is willing to take the risks in servicing this community and cut the guy some slack.

Order your stuff and wait.

Mark, if you have the time to read this. This is what I recommend.

Because the market is so tight... you will sell everything you bring in..

Don't bother with pre-orders, don't bother with taking orders at all.

Bring in stuff, and post it as in stock in a simple list... People can buy what you have or wait until you feel like bringing in what they want. Don't reserve anything.. sell it all "first come first served"

As far as Customer service goes, Send people one e-mail when their package is shipped.. and forget about it form there.

You are one man... don't try to keep and entire country happy.. keep yourself happy.

Shane-o-mac June 1st, 2007 17:29

Mark is the man!!!! I ordered from him 2 times, both times they come. I had some issues with canada post, but other then that I like his service.

ive ordered two aegs from mark in the last two weeks,, CA scar (black), and a slr 105 full steel,, the website is updated instantaneously.

previous to that i bought a bunch of tm .45s, (9mm is a gun you reload but ala chow yun fat a .45 you just drop and grab another), from him and the same thing, website updates as you buy so i dont understand about other peoples problems.

my scar was late compared to previous purchases because canada post has decided its time to be slow about things for some reason,, and id expect about as much time, ( or whatever gonernment slackers want to call it), to get my CA slr,, but thats really not the biggest worry when dealing with airsoft is it??.

if asked, and i am by people im trying to get infected in the sport, i give a&a the toppest marks, ( no pun intended), for airsoft service and product.

thegreenman,, aka lykurgus on the asc forums,, aka pat hardy who gets messed in hobbies like this from time to time.
