My custom CA36

Finally finished the sub-mods on my CA36 (after a madbull tightbore)
it, in effect, has a 9inch rail on the bottom that was designed for the m16, i cut it down and bolted it into place. it also has a small length g36 rail on top of the sight, as well as a V-type stock and some custom trademarks (i know they dont go there but it doesnt matter)

Clean up and paint over the saw marks on the rail.

takatorikku January 21st, 2007 20:20

the dual optics looks nice. mind sharing on how you accomplished it??? i've been meaning to do that to my K version

Krieg January 21st, 2007 20:21

Nice!

It seems like the red dot is too high.
Does it work out for you?
Because sometimes I have trouble in prone with the built-in scope.

Besides everything: gotta love the stock, nice g36

DuffMan January 21st, 2007 20:35

Slap an Eotech or Aimpoint on that rail. Civie optics make everything look amatuer.

KraziAzn January 21st, 2007 23:28

NOD!

bloodkoala January 22nd, 2007 01:30

the rds is pretty simple to instal, all you need is a short g36 rail (the kind that are tippicaly mounted to the sides of G36c's) take one of those and sand (or saw) down one of the screw runs (the plastic nubs where the screw goes on the underside of the rail) then just allign it above the scope with the shortened end on top of the raised part of the carry handle, apply superglue and voila!

NOTE: with this applied, you cant adjust the sights elevation, doesnt matter to me because you cant use it with a paintball mask on anyway...

to mr.ptrap the rds is a little high, but the cheekrest + paintball mask compensates for this so it is in a comfortable position.

takatorikku January 22nd, 2007 01:42

hmm superglue eh? doesn't sounds long term to me lol, i was originally going to drill and bolt mine down.

edit: something along the lines of this:

http://img237.imageshack.us/img237/2...10701594hw.jpg
course i don't have a spare eotech on my hands, so a laser will suffice

http://img251.imageshack.us/img251/8...10702005nf.jpg

http://img237.imageshack.us/img237/3...10702011rt.jpg

http://img242.imageshack.us/img242/4...10702028xy.jpg

the best part is i can still aim with the handle optics and i can remove the rail if i need to adjust the scope as well.

thanks for getting me on the ball for doing this man lol

Amazing KG3 January 22nd, 2007 07:08

thats a good idea takatorikku, however mounting the laser there makes it so you cant use the iron sites.

Renegade) January 22nd, 2007 08:11

Well I think hes just using the laser to represent where a RDS will go, he just didnt have one when he took the pics.

Droc January 22nd, 2007 09:05

nice 504 in the background

takatorikku January 22nd, 2007 14:53

604 actually lol. and yeah, i borrowed my buddy's cheap RDS and mounted it on, looks sweet i'll have pictures up soon

bloodkoala January 23rd, 2007 01:26

not sure if i like yours as much takatorikku, it seems more versitile, but i looks odd being suspended over the carryhandle and having the large bolt sticking out the bottom... btw, amazing kg3, have you ever actually used the iron sights on your g36? they arn't that much of a loss

Amazing KG3 January 23rd, 2007 06:35

yes they are useless, but just the fact of mounting a laser on over the scope and giving up the iron sights just seems odd to me. it would have been easier to mount on the foregrip, which would still allow you to use the iron sights if the scope failed. it just seems unnecessary. it looks sorta good though.

takatorikku January 23rd, 2007 15:56

Here, I've "proper-fied" it. I drilled into the top of the scope housing, deep enough to get a good seating for the screw but not deep enough to hit the scope. I found a bigger washer that fit perfectly (the old one would slip though given enough abuse) and I've yet to find another solution in my toolkit so far.

now were talkin! hey can i post my ca36 here?

takatorikku January 23rd, 2007 16:47

YES! we should make it an official "Modded G36" thread! Can't wait till I get a nice Eotech or Reflex sight for mine...

Renegade) January 23rd, 2007 16:47

looks good taka, id hit that nut and washer with some black paint later, finish it up, blend it all together!

Amazing KG3 January 23rd, 2007 17:04

i just got the acog for mine, ill post it tonight.

thnk!

Amazing KG3 January 23rd, 2007 19:28

Heres my CA36K, its stock, but will be getting a tightbore and spring, i also need to swap out the piston. I slapped on some extended guarder rails, and attached a KA vert grip, 50 lumens tac light, has the C top rail, as well as a Maruzen ACOG RDS. I also am using KA locaps. hope you like. The acog has to go, and im gonna try to get a RAS for it, btw does anyone know if i can still use the batteries in the foregrip with the RAS?
http://i52.photobucket.com/albums/g4...3/HPIM0694.jpg

taclight is too heavy, so this is what i use most the time
http://i52.photobucket.com/albums/g4...3/HPIM0690.jpg

takatorikku January 23rd, 2007 19:41

lookin good kg3! i totally agree with you, my taclight weighs the sucker down a lot as well and i need a piston swap too... it's a CA thing so i'm told. i have 2 KA mags as well, they work great, but they're too dark for my liking.

Amazing KG3 January 23rd, 2007 19:45

i agree with the tint of the KA mags, they also dont seat well enough for my liking. what are you using to store your mags?

takatorikku January 23rd, 2007 19:51

that guarder vest you get for $50 at ASCA. works for me *shrugs* they don't seat that great for me, i gotta do the whole rock and lock thing like AKs and SIGs to get them in nicely. makes a nice loud click too so i'm not complaining lol, they were $25 mags.

Amazing KG3 January 23rd, 2007 20:00

rofl got my for 20 a pop. i use CIRAS pouches on my RAV, they work alright, stupid pegs catch on everything though.

takatorikku January 23rd, 2007 20:01

same here... i think by making an inner pouch they won't catch cuz of the uniform smooth surface.

i need to buy a vert grip... but then i'd need a longer under rail... dammit and i still need a new piston and gun doctor. why, why am i so poor?!

because you spend all your time posting in this forum instead of getting a job

I like the idea of changing this to a thread for anyones custom g36's, dont know how to change the title though

I know what you mean about the g36 mags being a pain in the rear. with mine i use a molle vest and electrical tape on the insides to hold down the peice of fabric, works better than it did, still not great, but not as bad

takatorikku January 23rd, 2007 20:42

ouch burn. lol i got laid off, waiting for my unemployment cheques to start coming in (got another 3 weeks at least).

it's a shame they don't make autoback mods for the g36 like guarder does for the AK. i want more realism!

bloodkoala January 24th, 2007 01:30

wow, my random jab was more pointed than usual.

i dont think it would be that hard to moddify an ak blowback kit to run in a g36, the charging handle/dust cover is in the same place (give or take a few millimeters) not sure how much space the ak unit requires, seeing as some aks have the entire bolt area to work with... has anyone ever used one?

OH SNAP! .........crackle, and pop!

takatorikku January 24th, 2007 02:02

cheers to kos for the totally unrelated post to this thread!

i'll ask around, see if it's possible. i'm already halfway finished my bolt mod to my K, all it really does is allow the charging handle to go back all the way like real steel. Now i just need to figure out how to make it go back forwards lol.
