CSI AK Assailant

This is a fairly new gun that I have recently noticed; electric. In the 120-150 dollar price range. Does anybody own it or know anything about it? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks. (I'm considering buying it.)

thephenom November 20th, 2006 21:51

We don't usually get the small/cheap brands in Canada, so you probably won't see as much feedback as you would on an American forum.

ColtFarmer November 20th, 2006 21:56

where the fuck is city 17? who sells this gun? where did you see it?

freddyclaw November 20th, 2006 21:58

city 17 is from the video game half-life thats all i know

From what i've read on airsoftforum.com it's not worth it. Basically the same quality as cyma or double eagle or any other really cheap crappy manufacturer like those two. If you want to get into airsoft, don't buy crap. Save your money for something good.

Where the hell are all these guys comming from?! thats like 3 or 4 in the past week or so all asking about crappy-branded-fall-to-pieces-in-minutes guns....this is nuts....do some reading on how shite these thigns are and save up for something thats worth it. *sigh*

The local school for "special" children just got funding to build a computer lab with internet access, and well, here we are.

120-150 is still big bucks if you are 15. by the time he is old enuff to legally own an airsoft rifle, he will be able to save enuff money to buy something decent. untill then he can read the faqs and enjoy the pics

So at 15, that means he is able to afford to spend $120-150 on something that will ultimately break within a few days, if not hours. That doesn't make sense. If he saves now, he can afford a good AEG, accessories and gear by the time he is of legal age. If he spends all his money on crap that breaks now then how is he going to save money? But I do agree with you that he can spend this time reading up on airsoft.

I remember when i first found out about airsoft, i was 15 too...Its amazing how your perspective on price changes after you buy your first AEG...suddenly $600+ is an affordable new toy (w00t for CA lol) :S You really do get what you pay for...

The laws in Canada are probably different then here in the U.S, anybody can own an airsoft gun, regardless of age. I own and have used spring rifles and am looking to get into airsoft more seriously (matches at paintball fields and such). I saw this gun on shortyusa and airsoftatlanta and thought i would look into what people thought before I consider purchasing it. Thanks for the advice.

If you really want to get into this sport "seriously" then stop looking at cheap, crap products like this. Look at TM or CA or anything expensive if you are really serious. In this sport you get what you pay for.

If you dont want us to give you advice based on Canadian Laws, how about you modify your profile with at least your country's name?

And if you buy crap, you will regret it. It's that simple.

Hunter Killer November 21st, 2006 22:49

why do so many americans come to a Canadian site?:banghead:

Droc November 21st, 2006 23:41

easy, they got nothing this good in their own country. Its either ASC or Arnies.

OK guys now I have been the owner of several TM guns and I recently purchase 2 Jin Gong AK's. A Spetz and a Dragunov. The Spetz is an exact duplicate of my boss's TM Spetz and when I say exact I mean exact. The gun chrono'd at 323fps w/ 0.20g bb consistently. It is a very straight shooter. The Spetz has been through several all day events and has not had one problem. The Dragunov is my most recent purchase. After the Spetz I had to have the Dragunov. This is a beastly gun... but I'm 6'7" and weigh in at over 450lbs so it fits me perfectly. I have played with this gun in a couple games. It chrono'd at 348fps w/ 0.20g bbs consistenly. Extremely accurate and good range. Both of these guns have alot of metal, are very heavy, well built, and are full TM compatible. They use V3 gearboxes. Good ROF on both guns and the dragunov is very quiet. I bought the first gun as a loaner/spare because I don't like letting people use my more expensive guns. But after what I have seen from these guns I would give my recommendation. I think China or at least Jin Gong is getting their act together at cloning these guns.

ColtFarmer December 1st, 2006 22:52

where did you get the Dragunov?

Probably this one.

I'm sure some US retailer carries it.

The initial reviews seems ok, but I would like to see what happens to the AEGs after 10k rounds. (Which TM, CA, G&P, etc are capable of)

Freedom Fighter December 2nd, 2006 18:17

I dunno mate, good on ya for gettin a gun with no issues ... another plus with AK's IMO.

Even so, at $85 USD for a complete AEG?? It just doesn't add up ... unless a bunch of Marui's or the like, fell off the back of a truck.

It's hard to convince some of us anyway. If it ain't Marui, G&P or even RS I'm not really interested.
