G&G UMG Question

I am interested in buying a G&G UMG and I wanted to know is where can I get the all black muzzle end and is it metal? All the ones I see pics of people have removed the orange one. Does the orange one screw off?

Forman August 28th, 2006 22:02

Check Out 007 airsoft, they have the UMG with the all black muzzle

mcguyver August 28th, 2006 22:03

If you use a methylene-chlorate free paint thinner, you can usually remove the paint without damage to the underlying finish. I don't know about the finish on G&G however as I have never used this on a G&G product. It worked great on ICS guns that came to Canada by way of the U.S. though.

Otherwise, you can always re-paint it, or see if you can get one form either G&G or one of the Asian retailers (WGC, Redwolf, Uncompany, etc.).

if he is in the USA, its prolly not the best for a canadian retailer to ship guns to the USA. Im not sure of the legalities of it, but its definatly going to be more expensive. Really, be cheaper to order a new metal flash-hider. or as stated above, remove the orange or repaint.

Just two more questions. Does the existing one screw off and is it metal?

Amazing KG3 August 28th, 2006 23:06

it doesnt screw off, and its metal but with this odd gripy coating.

Can the outer barrel be removed for painting?

Amazing KG3 August 29th, 2006 17:58

oh you live in the states! Can you even have black barrels down there? And yes it comes off.

jayrod August 29th, 2006 23:41

Amazing KG3 you seem to know alot about this gun do you have one? We can have black barrels but it's getting hard to find Hockey on The TV even when it's in season..Ha..Ha..

I used to have a G&G one. Unbelieveable build, best i have everseen, but the friggin tappet plate was shot right out of the box and needed to be replaced.

So how did you take the orange paint off the muzzel?

Tankdude August 30th, 2006 07:27

He didn't have to. In Canada we don't have to have the tip painted orange.

oOMuDOo August 30th, 2006 07:37

The flash hider is stuck to the front end of the gun. you can't remove it.

porry August 30th, 2006 08:19

isnt it the law in the US that an airsoft gun HAS to have an orange tip. To distinguish it as a BB gun.

To distinguish it as a replica, I believe so.

Just for the record, do actual BB guns require a red tip down there?

Sadiztix August 30th, 2006 09:03

no actual bb guns don't require a red tip in the states

Mr Jon August 30th, 2006 09:24

I think it also depends on what state that you are in, perhaps not all states require an orange tip. But that's just a theory.

Amazing KG3 August 30th, 2006 15:51

yeah the flash hider doesnt come off, the barrel does though. like i said, by far the nicest body to any AEG every IMO, and G&G is known for that, however the internals suck.

jayrod August 30th, 2006 16:03

Thanks for the info. I am new to airsoft and this forum. I just purchased a TM G36C and I'm impressed with how detailed it is. I was into real guns but you pay so much and get so little. What I mean by that is look at the USC, how can you make such a nice looking piece like the UMP look like a toy water pistol. Leave it to H&K to make the USC. They could have at the very least given us a black gun! Then I was going to buy a Ps90 they are selling for $1999.00 US. Do you realize that law inforcement is paying about $850.00US for a UMP and the public is paying $1200.00 for a USC. sorry for going on.

Amazing KG3 August 30th, 2006 16:10

lol, yeah law enforcement agencies, government and private protection buy the guns, and buy them at there worth, where civilans actully arent suposed to have them at all, and can mark them up.
