There is a difference between the M15A4 and A2's.

M15A4's- 7mm gearbox
M15A2's- 6mm gearbox

I got that right off the CA website.

G_unit May 29th, 2006 22:01

Oh, damn, I thought all of CA's gear box's were all 7mm now.

msg-90sniper May 29th, 2006 22:45

sooooooooooooooooo 7mm is better???

G_unit May 29th, 2006 22:49

Less stress on the gearbox I believe.

Not entirely correct. The only M15A4s to have a 7mm gearbox are the SPC, RIS, and CQB (and presumably the upcoming SPR). All of the other M15A4s use 6mm gearboxes just like the A2s.

Russianboy May 30th, 2006 19:26

They both run good none the less.

linkster June 25th, 2006 17:40

if this is the case, then why on arnies does the reveiw say M15A4, if, according to Travdude's pic, its an M15A2 tatctical???? is this just a typo??

Gryphon June 25th, 2006 17:43

I'm looking right at the review, http://arniesairsoft.co.uk/?filnavn=...m15_review.htm and I see a detachable carry handle. Sure looks like an A4 to me.

The Saint June 25th, 2006 18:08

M15A4 is available in:
- Carbine (conventional handguard, crane stock; reviewed by Arnie)
- Tactical Carbine (conventional handguard, fixed stock)
- Rifle (conventional handguard, full stock + longer barrel)
- RIS (RIS handguard, crane stock; see above)
- SPC (RIS handguard, full stock; see above)

The externally distinguishing feature between A2 and A4, as Gryphon has pointed out, is whether the carrying handle is detachable or not.

NICE!!! is that CA82 a sniper rifle? and why would they make a "special purpose" m15 rifle??? im preatty sure that the rifle is a little to big to be turned into a "special purpose" kind of gun.....

Greylocks June 27th, 2006 22:06

Looks more like a counter-sniper version. That would make it special-purpose.

The CA82 is a copy of an H&K model. Look them up.

Nocturnal June 28th, 2006 14:30

H&K SL8 w/larger carry handle with RDS = CA82

i wonder how good the CA AK 105 (steel ver.) is compared to the VFC AKS 74u.. *ponders*

linkster June 29th, 2006 14:02

i know its an H&K G36 sesries, ive just never seen that model before, it looks just like a G36 with a smaller mag, and sniper butt

TheHandicapper June 29th, 2006 16:18

Its an SL8.

Trader 762 July 8th, 2007 16:05

Just so no one cries about it, I did the search and found this thread, its old, but its gonna be at the top of the list.

Just based on supply alone, A&A only has the A2 in stock so it does not leave me much choice if I want the toy "now"

What's the difference between the mAh for the batteries?

I take it the A2/A4 uses a 8.4V battery mini-type.

Does the forestock handgrip make a difference in training when its CQB type play?

before I go making a $600 mistake in terms of application of use of the gun, all the information would be greatly appreciated.

I do understand the way a gun is set up is all personal preference, one may work for one, but not the other.

Trader 762 July 13th, 2007 13:27

ok, here's another ignorant question.

I am just about to place an order with A&A for a CA M15A4, the magazines I'm ordering are STAR mags, the 30 rounders.

They will fit the magazine receiver of the body right?

I'm ordering 13 of them that's why, would be a $130 mistake if it does not fit.

JeSteR52 January 6th, 2008 16:07

I'm thinking of getting an M15A4 SPC for the full stock so i can use a large battery. From what I've read they're very nice guns. I'd like to know as well, Trader.

JeSteR52 January 6th, 2008 17:56

Wow, yea, nm, just noticed this thread hasnt been written on for like 6 months lol.
