Bipod for FAMAS SV?

Hi,
I plan to get a TM FAMAS as backup AEG,and I am not going to upgrade it.
(may get a tight bore though)
There are SV and F1 models to choose from, but I would really like to have a FA-MAS SV with bi-pod.

Is it possible to install a bipod on FAMAS SV?
This is what it should look like:

Which bipod would possiblely fit? :???:
Can anyone help?

Thank you! :)

A friend of mine has that setup. He just took the SV and added the F1 bipod, its all the same thing. The F1's bipod fits on the SV.

Ok, couple of things. First of all in the picture you've provided the FA-MAS has had an M16 magazine conversion (note the slightly bent magazine shape) so unless you have it upgraded to take an M16 magazine, it will have a magazine that looks like this:

http://www.sequent-media.co.uk/gallery/notes/FAMAS1.jpg

Second, the FA-MAS can be quite heavy, I myself have a FA-MAS SV and with a scope, mount and extra mag its even heavier so a sling can be a life saver especially if you play longer games. If you were to purchase a FA-MAS SV you may be able to buy seperateley the pistolgrip, hand grip and bipod off someone (perhaps with a broken FA-MAS F1?)

The parts could easily be attached as the FAMAS-SV and F1 bodies are identical, only the pistolgrip, handgrip and bipod are different (as well as a few other minor cosmetic differences like the barrel design on the F1 is slightly different - it has the screw notches on it)

You may be able to retrofit something onto the bipod to hold a sling, but it could be hard - it MUST be able to support the weight of the rifle or your screwed. Now the other thing you could do is buy an F1 and just tie the sling around loop hole on the butt and around the carryhandle?? - it could be done. Its a bit of a bodged solution but it would work.

If your a sniper though and you want a FA-MAS as backup i wouldnt recommend it. As mentioned before its fairly heavy and somewhat unwieldy. Its a great assualt rifle, probably the best for price, but in buildings and CQB as a backup its to large to use effectivley. If you are a sniper and want backup have you considered an MP5K? The smallest fully automatic AEG available - its very good indoors and in CQB, the other thing would be a shotgun - in my team our sniper has a shotgun for backup to, works a treat in CQB.

But having the bipod means you can't have a sling without another upgrade. The bipod replaces the two front sling loops holes sadly, but i guess if you have good upper body strength it isn't that much of a problem.

Thank you very much for the info.
I checked all the canadian retailers listed here(plus retailers not listed here).
Only 2 Famas SV aegs are on sale.
If i want a Famas F1,i have to pre-order it.

I still prefer the SV,sine it got a more modern look(IMO).
Sling is a must have for me,but i also would like to get a bipod to finish the look.

PS:i will be using this Famas along with M14. :smack:

What mod is this?(it seems this guy got both sling and bi-pod )

And wear would u get a Poseidon SEBURO MN-23???

Bob the Angry Potato April 8th, 2006 16:38

You can't- you have to buy a Marui FA-MAS, and then get a kit for it. All in all, it'd cost far over 1000 dollars.

freeman April 8th, 2006 23:19

The kit already sold out quickly.it is hard to find one now.

Not true. I have a sling and a bipod- easy solution, use a guitar strap.

Pictures are in my review, it's quite simple and feels very sturdy.

^Oh ho... not a bad idea to go and ask such a thing in SOMEONE else's thread. I'm not going to flame you. Just going to say that this is an inappropriate question in an innappropriate thread. Start by looking through out the Information Section and then ask questions that aren't being asked on a daily basis. You can make sure they aren't using the search button and trying at least 3 different searchs. Please do not respond to this post as I will conclude that you did not understand.

Back to topic now: Love them Famas' ! I'm still not convinced if i get one or a Steyr AUG as I love bull up rifles.

attack-beaver September 1st, 2006 01:39

the famas is a good rifle but theres very little add-ons, no metal bodies and compared to other TM guns its the most plasticy feeling.

Kuraitenshi September 1st, 2006 01:58

Famas is alot of fun for a bull pup, bipod is nice to stablize ur shots, but my only complaint is the sights, I always get a kink in my neck trying to use them. As for the plastic body, it makes for easy attachment of rails and any other items u feel like.
