TM Sig Sauer P226 Issues.. New..
 

Hi,
Not long ago I recieved my p226. I had to wait to get the h134a gas. I finally got it a few days ago. When I finally got the clip loaded and ready to go, I fired about three shots and the slide stuck. I could hear all the duster escape, and that was it. It did it on the next clip as well!?

The second issue is the hammer release on the side of the gun. It doesn't fully disengage the hammer!? Which is a big issue, to me anywase.

GBB's will do that if the mag is not full of gas or when nearly empty.

Make sure you are keeping gas flowing into the mag until it starts to kick back out, or simply wait about 10-20 seconds. Just to ensure the mag is 100% full of gas.

Otherwise it must be something else.

Thanks for the replies. I need to get some silicone oil. What about the hammer release, if that's the appropriate name!?

How are you filling the magazine? Are you pushing it down onto the bottle of duster?

I fill the mag up with the magazine upside down as well as the canister.

Sounds like an oil issue to me.

That's normal. It doesn't fully disengage on all the 226's I've handled, for whatever reason. It's enough to throw it back to double-action, but it's not completely seated like when you dry fire.

The hammer is fine. It's mimicking the real steel action.

Many of the newer DA/DAO (Double action/Double action only)pistols are like that...it has to do with decreasing the amount of trigger travel when firing as well as decrease the amount of pressure required. It's meant to bring the accuracy of DA's closer to that of single action pistols.

The amount of "pre-cocking" depends on the make of the pistol..I've read that some will have as much as 80% "pre-cock" (for want of a better term) while most are much less.

My USP does the same but with about 20% pre-cock of the hammer.

As for the gun not cycling completely..did you fire it out in the cold? I generally use Propane in the winter and Green in the summer. Keep an eye on the temp during the in-between seasons.

Something isn't clear to you...

Duster in the summer sounds good, but Green IS propane.

It's a "de-cocking lever" that is the way it is supposed to be when you de-cock the P226. Mine does that as well. I thought it was odd, but it makes it a lot easier to manually cock with your thumb in a rush. Can be very handy.

I had a marui M9 that WOULD NOT cycle on duster for anything.

Worked on propane for a goooood time. Maybe the 226 you have is trying to tell you something :nod: :innocent:

So you use the lever on the side of the gun to cock it? I was using it to de-cock it. There is no safety on it so, I guess the other players are just screwed :grin:

Sorry, I will clarify.
The lever is a de-cocking lever.
"That is the way it is supposed to be..." was refering to the hammer not being fully de-cocked as if it had been dry-fired.
I meant that having it not de-cock completely can be handy as the hammer will stick out a little bit further giving you more surface area to place your thumb over to pull it back into a cocked position in a hurry.
