TM G18C EBB Slide Locked

Hey, I'm attempting to fix a friends EBB....(shit I know) but regardless I cant seem to find the problem. When i pull the slide back it stay in place insted of returning back to its original position. When i took off the slide I realized it did not have a recoil spring...and im not sure if there is suppose to be one in the particular ebb model. Anyways I attached a video below...I can make some more if it would help.

Thanks

Trash it and tell him to buy something better. It's a rude answer, but it's the truth.
Not worth the effort.

Goldman February 10th, 2006 07:24

And now a more helpful reply.

Do you have the manual for the EBB? It might have an exploded diagram showing if there should be a spring. There aren't many of these around, and due to their price people don't tend to fix them, they simply upgrade once they are broken.

Your best bet is to try to find a diagram, and see what dosent line up, (I think your correct about the recoil spring, it would explain why the slide wont move corectly, and old my EBB Desert Eagle had such a spring).

Can you give us more information surrounding the circumstances that caused the damage? What happens when you fire it, without manually cyling the slide?

tell him to go out and buy himself a gas glock18c. the ebb's are not even worth the time.

Omg, people. Do you think these posts help at all? No shit he learned a lessen but right now he has a broken gun he wants to fix. So post something helpful or dont. These EBB's are like $100 a pop, i bet you 10000 bucks that you would try to fix it if you had one too. -__-"

I have a feeling it might be because it doesn't have batteries, but im not too sure. It might be missing a spring too. I tried finding a manual or something on the net, but no hope. Ask your friend when it started to happen.

(im in a bad mood today.) : D

the key word there is IF i had one. but thats just the thing, i wouldn't have one because i know that 100$ for that is a wasted 100$...

and anyway, these posts are helpful because it shows him the error of his ways by getting the 100$ ebb.

Read the fuckin tread... Greylock said the same thing before you. And NO, this is NOT helpful.

Anyways....I put in the batteries today and it still doesnt move a bit. I guess ill just tell him to buy a gbb. If i manage to fix it I'll update this thread.

ze641 February 12th, 2006 11:08

see? these threads are helpful

firemachine69 February 12th, 2006 11:14

Take a look at the WE Hi-capa 3.8 or 5.1 if the metal slide jives him. Good prices too.

Here are some pics i took today, seems like the gears locked because of the blockback mechanism. Anyways, im just wondering if I put the gears together properly.

K, so i fully assembled it again and it does work...however I have 1 spring that i could not find a spot for and im assuming its the reason why the gun wont fire without the assistance of a screwdriver or somthing pushing the trigger mechanism against the switch. So it will only shoot if im applying force to the trigger mechanism so that it can move the switch... Now i just need your help to tell me where to put the last little spring.

If you're not sure then why bother posting? Post something helpful, omg people.

Oooh, it might be a spring! That's exactly what the guy stated in the original post.

And just so you know, I'm not posting anything helpful either 'cause I'm a hypocrite and I admit it.

I'm not in a bad mood today.

Who cares how shitty it is...

A hundred bucks is a hundred bucks. Not everyone in this community is so willing to throw away what might SEEM like a minor investment to the elitists on this board.

Maybe he didn't take the $500 step to an AEG because he doesn't have the time to play often? Maybe he's still on the fence about becoming a regular player and buying better equipment? It's not like he's got a $30 Canadian Tire gun. Not everyone is prepared to spend a lot of money on a hobby unless they're sure they're going to make it worth the money.

My $0.02, if you don't have anything helpful or useful to add to a thread here, DON'T POST. Saying "omg ur gun sux buy a real airsoft gun" doesn't help him in any way. If you want to go on about how much EBBs suck and that God kills a kitten every time someone buys one, go make a thread in the Guns Discussion section. That's why it's there.

This is the "Doctor's Corner", not "Tell the guy with a broken gun that he made a shitty decision, is an idiot, and should have bought a better gun Corner." Think about how you would react if your car broke down, you brought it into a shop and the mechanic told you "Throw it away, you should have bought a less shitty car in the first place." That's what's going on here.

Who are we to tell him what is and is not worth his effort?

hattrick June 13th, 2006 20:41

ebb pro present, with that being said the recoil spring is on the lower left side of the slide.
I know exactly what you're going through pm me and i'll send you my fix ;)
your semi auto swich broken yet? i can fix that one too

you must excuse most of this board for their comments, its not their fault for being....
