330' B.C. ferry CQB 5 level New field
We have leased the old queen of sidney for our local cqb field in mission B.C.
there are food and drinks avail we play 1 night game a week and every sunday it is open to all players if your in B.C. you have to come play it while we have it here is a link to some pics from the jan 1 game http://www.pbase.com/optix84/jan_1st..._mission_ferry we use warcraftgames.ca site to host our forums for now as we are a new club pm me if you have questions |
Wow, thats incredible.
I hate you guys. |
very nice find!
How much is the lease costing? |
yeah thats so good.
how long will you have it because id come out there just to play that. |
Lucky!!
I envy you sooooo much!! The radar is still working?? |
Wow.. just wow... the ship has power? how is it maintained (through a land based power line?) I saw the radar was on, and If you say night games, I assume that the ship has lighting?
Im speechless, that could be kick ass. |
Wow what an awesome place to play! Too bad I'm stuck out here in Prairie ville
|
Hey Matt... I am still going to jump on the new Hayabusa this summer, and take a road trip down there to see you. I was jealous two months ago and am still jealous:) Very sweet deal you have there!
|
Wow thats awesome, good job finding that.
|
That would be an awesome place to play. I'm so jealous.
|
Holy good sweet Christ.
That looks like an amazing field! Who (in Kingston) wants to get together and try to lease the Alexander Henry sometime? ;) |
I am filled with envy. A field like that should really get your adrenaline and motivation going.
|
that field is unbelievable looking i wish we had more then one field on the island
|
hmmm good memories brought back to mind... had a few games at a boat here in Montreal a few years back.
|
I'll need a stout crew of twenty men to sail it around Cape Horn, and then down the St. Lawrence...
|
It is connected to shore power
and lites work on all levels we turn some off in night games and use remote controlled strobes sometimes the lease is low enough that we only pay 10$ for night games 20$ for all day games except myself of course and the others that help me with the field games ect. we have lower day rates for other clubs that run their own sim games on their own days. the cqb field and outdoor fields are non profit setup separate from store but supported by matt some prizes forums ect. outdoor is a 5-10$ club fee to whoever's club organizes the games gun give aways on special event game days for outdoor and cqb occasionally night games are mostly run and gun type games allot of influence from (rainbow six 3 black arrow ) and ghost recon with cafeteria assaults 5to 1 ratio of people defending to attacking in full auto unlimited ammo is a game type we play for the last hour at night 3-4 tracer units ect most other games are semi auto except car deck battles it is over 300' long we also have a target timed area on car deck we are trying out this Sunday matt hosts our club and founded op-for mission and is one of our paintball team sponsors (paintball related mostly ) and for special event game give aways. Myself along with some help from our team members get all the field flaying areas for us for both airsoft and paintball and my cabinet business our primary sponsor for this the ferry is only used for airsoft a cqb would get messy fast with paint we plan on playing on the ferry even in the summer months just half as much in summer with our outdoor games alternating weekends pm me if you want to plan a event it is low$ for the quality of field and you should see the other pics in some of the forum links guys have taken recently. |
thats unreal fella's my friends and I are currently working on an indoor cqb to be hosted in an old (yet stilly functional) warehouse / office building and I thought we had the cat's meow.
Just an idea, I'm sure you've already thought about it... theres most likely a pa system in there with loud speakers you should blare pump up music over it during games... |
Thats gotta be the best indoor/CQC field in Canada. Super jealous of it. We here are getting tired of this one ol laser trek place.
After 3 years it's pretty stale. |
I have a paddle boat that we can dry dock and use for CQB games, 1 on 1 only though, and maybe semi too! ;)
|
i just have one thing to say.... WOW!.... have you considered a "Under Siege" style scenario?
|
Not that I'd want to take my aeg into the water. lol
I had better get off my ass to get that abandoned hospital for some events. :D Excellent looking field, though. |
I'm so fucking jelous. I wish we had something like that, anything.
|
yay i see an alberta boys trip soon.
|
wow...I would seriously consider a trip out west to play there if it was a permenant fixture.
|
If you guys pick a day (or 24 hr period preferably) in the beginning of August, I'm sure I could convince a bunch of edmonton players to head out for a game, but the key point is mainly having a date chosen well in advance for us to plan a trip like this.
|
someone get me a towel
|
okay I don't mean to threadjack, but I'm looking at the pics, and one of em has a guy face down in his gun case (http://www.pbase.com/optix84/image/54276959) and i just have to ask WTF?

Hey guys, the cqb field is insane. Running around with a pistol, is almost as fun as the full auto game on the deck. With Six4 running the game its quite fun, he has some very interesting senerio idea's and then the classic asualt games to.
Anyways heres some pics i got from the Jan. 22nd game last sunday, 56K Warning. Large Pictures. Jan. 22nd game pic's 1 Jan. 22nd game pic's 2 |
HEY HOW COME IM NOT IN ANY OF THE PICTURE BIATCH!!! lol that blows that im not in any of em^_^
|
Really nice pics - like Iceman said - brings back a lot of memories. Good job guys!
|
|
That field is so awesome! The ferry is biiiiiiiig.
LOVED playing there... stupid school keeps me from going there again for a while :( PS I was the guy in the dirka-dirka-mag with M11 and G19 in the shoulder holster. |
pm me if you are planning a road trip the odd flick is filmed on her and we can plan around it
if you made a special trip you could play for a few days in a row we are easy going and in it for fun that gets a relaxed happy environment , until game on then adrenalin like no other I don't own it so I cant say it is a permanent field we should be there for a long time it is already a good time lol we do shore assaults siege scenarios, terrorist bomb demolition ,you name it we play it and yes six rocks the boat with game types and he deserves constant props he even has come up with terrorist costumes!!!!!!! |

I know we could get a schwak of people from calgary to come out if you guys put on a game. Looks like an unbelievable CQB field.
You guys have to carry any insurance to play there? |
we play every sunday pm me if you want to play in feb or march
we can do sat games if you make a special trip |
Since they scrapped our Rochester ferry service maybe we can look into getting it beached and use it for ourselves.

That's such an amazing field, kudos to you! Expect a PM from me in the future! |

Better get him three!... That's freaking sweet... I assume that the engine room and all the holds are off limits for safety reasons though right? Btw... anyone from Ontario not been to BC in a while? :D.... ROAD TRIP!!!!!!!!.... we'll rent a bus or something... lol... only took me and my dad 33 hours to get to Calgary once... only stopped for Gas... I'll wager another 20 hours to get to Vancouver... them rocky roads are quite twisty... takes long time to go through em.... but the veiw is AWESOME!... ^.^... |
It's only about 12 to get to vancouver from Calgary, and that includes some generous stops. Could be done in 10 or so at normal speeds and minimal stops.
|
we also do a night game every Tuesday and only have pop available tues night as we go for food after
Sundays we cook/and bbq jumbo dogs we added a 20 target run and gun timed and scored shooting range on the car deck scores will be totaled every month and some prizes are in the works we will put some pics of target practice range up next week on warcraftgames.ca forums if you make a special trip we will do some additional games and game days to send you home with more than a pizza tan and as we are non profit the field is lower cost than anything remotely close in size the field is intended for everyone in airsoft community to enjoy in spring we will start playing our outdoor mountain play areas as well and they cost almost nothing to play |
the engine room has a no engagement policy as it is made for crew not general public
we use it for sim type games only along with the fuel tank and fire suppression rooms the engine room works well for unarmed siege of engineer and placing of bombs in missions we have been playin here alot and have some really good games worked out for game days up to about 40 players but 30 seems to work best in one group if over 30 we play in 2 separate groups for run and gun and together in under siege type games the target area and car deck only battles allows a good separation and we can host 50 player games if planned ahead we do shore assault's with ballistic shields on fair weather days |
Sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee..... ((pant pant))... eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee ettttttttt
Cool.. as for the trip from Calgary to Vancouver I just remember when I lived in Calgary we decided to go to Kelowna and it took something like 16 hours but that was not even a flanking speed... lots of stops and all that... so yeah I guess it wouldn't take as long... Anyway... still... where's everyone in Ontario that wants to go!... pool cash we'll rent a bus! :D |
Every time i go by that boat, i always thought it could become a good field:D
|
why havent you there played yet?
It might go to the scrap metal chop shop this summer after our lease ends |
I would have never moved from abbotsford if i had seen that.. mind you that was a while ago. I will come out this summer and play.

|
When does the lease end
Hey a bunch of us from Calgary were going to plan a trip out there, it was mentioned above that the lease ends in the summer? Do you know exactly when the lease ends so we can plan our trip around it?
Cheers, |

My question: Is there any chance the lease can be extended???
|
They are working on it from what I was told this weekend, but May might be the last chance. Hopefully their plans work out.

Anyhow... I have a gun now, for a while anyways. so I might be out to damage some people soon - I haven't bothered to read - are you guys running strictly semi only? |

I want this thing to still be useable when i finally turn 18 *counts the days* I may not be able to speak for everyone here, but maybe theres some ways that if the rent goes higher, you can fundraise, or..... raise fees a dollar or two a person?? |
Trip from Calgary
Hey a bunch of us are goin out there from Calgary on april 22-23 (probably leaving here the 21st) if you wanna come PM me
|
That is the sweetest thing I have ever seen. The rest of Canada is so bloody interesting. Here is southern Ontario we have basiclly shit for exotic places to play......bloody hell!
|
Good News
We have made a long term agreement to have the ferry for years as a cqb field along with this the upper and lower car decks will be mostley loaded with vehicles for us to play around to expand the field size and game types |
Sweet, man I need to make another trip out there for a game. I still dream of the first time it was so awesome!
|
I know what you mean Kip. I think I'll be making another trip and this time I'm going pistols with an M4 cqb/r for back-up.
|
The more I look at those pictures, the more I'm tempted to drive alllllll the way out there with a friend or too just to play there.
Hell, you guys even wear arm bands, that's more than I can say about here! How much does it cost to play there? |
$20
|
I am so excited only 7 more days until 20 JOC members are going from Calgary. It's great to here the good news.
|
OHHH MY GOOD !!!
THATS it ! Now i have to hurry my ass up and get a freaking gun and drive my ass there ASAP !!!! i am just curious ! how much can a boat like be worth in scrap metal ? |
Obviously not as much as keeping it around for Airsofters :borg:
|
i would be very intrested on knowing because i know its alot of metal but its like buying a very old bus for a painball field ! u buy it then u use it :D
i mean , i am pretty sure alot of people would love to play in a unic enviroment like this baot :P |

cheers |
Wow. By far one of the coolest fields I've ever seen. Must be fun :D
|
Guys, if/when you go there, bring kneepads. Last night they saved me from having to be carried out. When i got home and was cleaning up my stuff found a cut (not a scratch) on one of the pads about 4-5cm long and ~1mm deep, and that's in hard plastic the pads are made of. Would have been ugly otherwise.
|
I'll have the bring my crew down to the next game, sounds like an awsome field.
