What do you think? Opinion's Needed
Hi Guys,
I am ordering some AS guns. And I wanted your opinions... (Yes I have read all the reviews I could find) But it seems that all of these sidearms are fairly good, but what is best. I pretty much read that (1) is the best GBB, but I don't really want a cannon for a side-arm. (All GBB's) 1) TM Desert Eagle Hard-Kick 2) TM Baretta 3) TM Sig Sauer P226 [Most fond of :P] I just want something with a little punch and reliabitly. My options are quite limited for buying.. and after all the reviews TM is the easiest to get; so what can I say Thanks Guys! |
You've already determined that they all perform well through reading reviews so I say you should get the Sig...why? Because as you posted, it's the one that you are the most fond of. You'll probably be playing with this gun for awhile, so choose something that you love to look at.
|
Go with the SIG 226! That would be my first choice for sure too. The SIG is a solid reliable GBB. From the tons we have sold speaking as a retailer, we have had no real issues come back to us so far! That is always a good judge of quality for us too!

Appreciate the reply's guys... keep em' coming.... still I will probably get the sig :)
|
I would either choose the Deagle or the Sig. But you should go with the Sig because you said you like it the best and if you get any other gun you might not be as satisfied. Also, you can put a laser or something on Sig without buying a mount thing for it.

Just ordered.......
.... The SIG :) Thanks Guys!!! P.S. I will update when I get it! |
Hi Guys,
So the P226 is on its way, almost $400 later. Now comes the question of duster. Is there a special adapter that is needed? Where I bought the GBB, they didn't have any. I realize what duster is, but it's my first GBB so it's new to me. I have read on many forums that propane will work, but for the time being I would like to use duster. I live in Ontario; where and what is the best way to power the gun with duster!? Thanks Again! |
I use my SIG with propane, and have had no issues with it, people say not to use propane with a plastic slide, but the slides are more durable now than they have been in the past.
Very robust sidarm, and I wouldn't trade it for anything....(well, yes, I would, I'd kill for a metal USP full length or a FiveseveN) |
My cousin's been running propane and duster both in his gun and has no problems with either. When he's using it in our basement range, he tends to use duster more just so we don't have to smell propane, it shoots just as accurately over the 30' we're shooting at, not *quite* as hard, and you don't have to deal with the smell.

While we're on the topic of GBB side arms without an real review, what is the quietest side arm you've heard?
|
That's a topic that is totally different from the subject of this thread. Quietest sidearms are springers.
|
So what about the adapter then? For Duster that is? Will I have to purchase some wierd thing to get it to work?
|
Get the sig since some places are leaning towards Realcaps...If you have a desert eagle you have to have 7 rounds...
|
Meaning what, that your side-arm can only have 7 shots?
|
....That'd be what 7 rounds means.
A lot of guys, myself included, like the thought of realism, so when we play we go with "realcap" loadouts, meaning for indoor, we use real-steel weapon loadouts +3 rounds because of the way the mags work, ie M16 gets 33 rounds, P90 gets 53, etc. Pistols only get their standard real steel number of rounds, ie Degal only holds 7, so you get 7 rounds. Bryan McIlmoyle just posted a thread about his fields going to realcap loadouts only. Take a look. And WRT the duster adapter, you *can* cut the little straw thinggie that comes with the duster can down a bit, but it's kinda dodgy and doesn't work that great, but check out madmax's store, Airsoft Innovations, it's in the links at the top. He's got duster and propane adaptors. |
I could never find the Duster Adaptor on his site. However, if you're gonna use duster from Dust-Off for PCs, then you're gonna get even less power because it is not the exact same gas. runs very well in the Marui GBBs. I have fired the Desert Eagle with , it has a very strong kick, but didn;t feel like it was damaging to the gun (i.e. too strong). However, that's not always useful.
As for lowcaps, I figure airsoft hicaps have a purpose becasue the guns themsleves are less accurate and have less range than a real gun, so we compensate by using more ammo. I played a game with realcaps once, and I can say it was hard to adapt to such little ammunition (60 shots per person, plus 12 sidearm). |

:D Seriously though, I will check Airsoft Innovations. |

Dave, I think (not sure) illusion sells duster adaptors for 15$ cdn if you reside anywhere near him so you can get it sooner. |
Thanks Guys, I will see if I can hack up one first and see if it works. Anyone have a close up photo of the nipple for filling?
|
he he, he said nipple...
Anyways, what do you guys do about diff variations of a gun i.e. the USP can take 9mm or .45 and still have the same designation I believe. Also, there are 2 different mag sizes per round, and I really need to be at my home computer to look up this stuff in my bookmarks >_<;; Anyways, the DE can be and often is used with different caliburs. Swap in a different reciever and a barrel insert, and it can take specially designed rounds (for the gas operated action). Don't know what its useful for, but it can be done, and thus the amount of ammo in a mag changes based on the calibur it is using at the time. So, do you guys "declare" the version you will be using beforehand and adjust accordingly or what? And if so, do you guys take any measures against someone trying to get max ammo due to using a certain "version" by forcing it based on trades or what? :???: |
