Breaking news on the AK front
Just saw this on another forum
Gb-Tech AKS-74U Conversion kit http://www.gb-tech.com.tw/images/New...4UN_Post_1.jpg Reported to be all steel, and hopefully will be priced much nicer then the Guarder edition. Hooray comrades! |
ANOTHER friggin Kalashnikov! Pfft.
I really hope it has a decent price, anything over 400$ is freakin overpaying. I just don't get why most conversion kits actually cost more then the gun itself, I bet companies are making a 1000% profit margin off these if you consider they are just wood and metal. Interesting find nonetheless.
ya that is nice, but i think i will wait for the rumored SRC AK74U and gut it :D
I wonder what that N in AKS74UN stands for.
an ak74su recieved a "N" designator when it came fitted standard with the siderail for optics.
That GBTech pic is a bit dark but it looks like it has the side-folder folding to the wrong side....it would interfere with the installation of the side-mounted scope mount.

A 74 with a fullstock?
No thanks, I think ill pass on this one. I just wait till a company releases a good priced AK-74SU. |

Good find Gish!
In the meantime I am still going to try and build myself one anyways, unfortunately without a proper conversion kit all I think I can do is make something that's "nice from far, far from nice". |
I cannot lie, with all that hardware that is an ugly AK.
lol ya. AK's + goodies = no. Armalites on the other hand....you get my drift ;)
Looks awesome, this is my favourite AK, ever since I saw James bond goldeneye lol
The PBS (8?) is sweet.

I suppose if you're in the dark, you're happy to have the night vision... and nobody can see your ugly gun (unless theirs is ugly too). So it all works out in the end :D
Next heathen who dares to speak ill of the Kalashnikov's aesthetics is gettin' a beat down! :smack:
Am I the only one to see a bit of a problem folding the stock if you are using a NV or a RDS?
http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a2...King/AKU47.jpg It looks like it folds over too the left, and the mount is in the way. |
That it does. Though one would have to question, if you are packing THAT thing what on Earth would you need to fold the stock for? :p
The scope looks much more useful with a stock anyways :D
Am I the only one that thinks it's a beautiful AEG, but has an odd color pistol grip? never seen a krink with a grey one before :P Not that that'll stop me from buying this....sigh.... |
I like the gun but seriosuly lose the weird looking magazine.

At least it's authentic. The Russians have used black, plum, and orange (though not quite that gaudy) in their bakelite mags. G&P makes em in all colors, and Guarder makes them in orange with a 7.62mm profile if you want an AKMSU (my personal preference) rather than an AKS74U.
personally, I have the STAR ones, and they look terrible and not very realistic at all. Plus they got some feeding problems i noticed, but at least it looks better in black than orange, i think everyone buying this gun wants it for the authenticity anyways.
I saw a waffle pattern extended RPK style magazine on sale around as well, for anyone who wants to have longer mags for their AKSU or whatever :P |
With the nv unit, i'd prefer to throw it at someone rather than shoot....or drop it on the roadrunner....*meep meep*

plastic = cheaper?

I think the types of resin used in the production of bakelite was the factor that determined the colour.
I guess its the russian way of production. Asthectics don't matter as long as it perfoms its job.
