Guarder C8 New Generation Body Released!!!

Forgive me for acting like a child, but all I can say is: OMG OMG OMG

http://www.intrudershop.com/show_pro...?idproduct=789

I figured they would have took longer to make this....but I guess I know where my paycheque is going now...

DuffMan December 6th, 2005 00:52

I nearly just PISSED myself. No word of a lie. I am fucking excited. Finally I can get my M4 (or is it C8 now?) repaired.

MadMax December 6th, 2005 02:58

I've already got some on order as well as some of their other receivers. I'm not sure how long customs will be playing with my stuff as clearing restricted items takes longer.

MadMax December 6th, 2005 03:14

I'm considering a preorder taking $75 deposits. How much demand is out there?

integratyperx December 6th, 2005 04:00

Put me down for one! How much you figure the total damage would be? :D

P.S. I think demand for this would be high...with all threads about getting bodies engraved, this should save people some effort.

damage December 6th, 2005 04:03

Hey madmax, what are the price range on this in CAD? are they cheaper than Hurricanes or the same?

integratyperx December 6th, 2005 04:24

Well if you compare the prices at WGC, with the other new gen. bodies, these should actually cheaper. But a ballpark range would be nice so we can begin saving :p

MadMax December 6th, 2005 06:07

Total price will probably be around $275-$300CAD including shipping to Canada, but not shipping within Canada. I'm quoting conservatively (i.e. high) as all of the costs haven't been worked out yet. Although these are being legitimately imported, I'm still liable for siezure loss so I have to figure out my risks too.

Porche body?

Gryphon December 6th, 2005 12:42

I'd really like to know why Guarder is using the incorrect pin hole sizes for the fire control parts. I suppose for airsoft it makes little difference, but it appears the idea here is to make one that looks identical to the real deal. Anyone who knows AR-15s well should be able to tell the hammer pin is far too large (should be same size as the trigger pin), and the autosear pin should be a smaller diameter. Then again I'm a purist and always nitpick on small details like that. :p

I'd be interested in one myself. Does Guarder have an A2 upper receiver to match their new finish? I'd rather go with the fixed carry handle, I just prefer that look.

aftica December 6th, 2005 17:37

one for me please, Carl.

ToRN December 6th, 2005 17:45

Right here!!!!!!!!!!

Kokanee December 6th, 2005 18:18

hmm, no close shots of the trades?

I hope they get them right this time, if so they would be great for C7/C8A2 projects

MadMax December 6th, 2005 19:06

I think Guarder hasn't gotten around to shooting pics yet. I'll be opening my preorder as soon as they're posted. I want to see the trades before I commit anything too.

I'm under the impression so that's they can't be easily used for a real-steel AR receiver...

Could just be plain wrong though. :D

aftica December 6th, 2005 19:32

^ that aint gonna happen!!!! Carl, as long as these trades are not the crappy ''laser etched'' variety, i am in for one!

trufret December 6th, 2005 20:32

trades should be the same as the originals from what i can see in the top pics. the trades on my older genertion ones are nice and deep. I don't know if I like the idea on having to pay an extra $60 USD for a working charging handle though.

also if these are anything like the old ones you will need to file the back of the magwell and the indside of the lower reciver where the selector slide on the mechbox runs to remove tightness. it's not that big of a deal as long as you know to have the tools on hand so you aren't waiting to finnish the assemble.

also thanks for bringing these in Carl no one wanted to bring in the old ones and they were hard as hell to get as a result.

Closest I can find for ya.

Droc December 6th, 2005 22:23

meh, I have a new gaurder SR16 reciever on the way. the C8s were hard to get so I went for a SR16 instead. but hey, for sub $200, its no big deal.

Krookedatmosphere December 12th, 2005 07:58

here is a close look of the body
this is from my M4 older style metal body of the C8

GunMaster December 12th, 2005 19:14

I found some closer pics.

http://airsoft.anareus.cz/detail.php?Id=701&kat_id=13

You can clearly read all the trades...not the best indication of how deep they will be though, but they look identical to this previous pic

http://www.airsoftcanada.com/galler...C&cutoffdate=30

I think this new body looks amazing, but I have been thinking of buying the real C8 instead (semi-auto obviously  )....haven't started the research so if it turns out I will never beble to get one then yeaha I will buy this Guarder metal body. Afterall a replica is better then nothing at all

thorvald December 12th, 2005 19:30

Well I for one am in, just let me know when you want the deposit Max!

Krookedatmosphere December 12th, 2005 19:36

just look at my gallary for more pics of the body

Shagg December 29th, 2005 23:35

Here is the new Gen M4 body. I like the finish. No problems putting on the furniture other then Part #5 did not come. I got three of these bodies in(1 M4 and 2 SR16) and none of these kits came with it either. I just took the screw off the old cocking handle. Gearbox hasnt gone in it as I am having a new one built with the new Guarder tune kit.

Droc December 31st, 2005 12:25

shagg, what parts did you end up gluing on?
did you glue part 1?
and part 2?

and how do you get the rear end of the trigger gaurd out of the TM reciever.

Shagg December 31st, 2005 19:11

Yeah I glued both part 1 and 2 like it says. For the trigger guard, on one side there is a hole. Stick something in there and pull down. It is pop out.

Droc January 1st, 2006 17:54

TM sr16

hurricane reinforced mechbox
+
guarder new gen SR16 metal body
+
6.5hours
=
a very frustrated Droc and a very unfinnished gun(now with new extra scratches).

I gotta say, whoever designed these metal bodies is a complete moron and should die.
instructions http://www.intrudershop.com/show_pro...?idproduct=766 dont work.
It simply wont go togher. where the motor is, is to tight to fit into the reciever, the tappet plate wont move because its to tight and the hopup is about 1/8' to far forward for the reciever to fit. Step 19 simply wont work. mechbox + hopup is to large and you cant flex the metal body enough to get it over.

BTW, magwell will need extensive modification to fit TM or star mags.

I was hoping that since its a "new gen" metal body, that some things would be worked out, but this has got to be the most troublesome time I have ever had with a gun. mechbox is a walk in the park compared to this.

BawBag January 1st, 2006 18:23

You have to admit Droc once you finally do get it worked out. It would be worth it. Then you can take your SR-16 with you in your grave

Droc January 12th, 2006 08:35

Just a warning to all.
Our team got our hands on 3 new generation guarder recievers
1 SR16
1 M4
1 no trades

None have been able to install them.
In the process of installing mine, I broke my selector plate.
and my other teammate reported cracking during installing on the reciever.

We have emailed guarder in hope of them addressing these issues, but as a warning, I would recommend against buying new gen guarder recievers.

ValkXB70 January 12th, 2006 16:55

Out of curiosity (not meaning any insult here) did you install the mechbox in the upper receiver first? I have to ask because I have one of these on the way.

Droc January 12th, 2006 20:29

yes. tired it both way. it wont fit

ValkXB70 January 12th, 2006 22:06

Damn thats not good. Please let me know if Guarder gets back to you.

ValkXB70 January 25th, 2006 23:25

So I happened to find that Guarder has amended the installation instructions for the V2 metal body. Check it out at :Guarder V2 Metal Body instruction

Let me know if that helps.

Shagg January 26th, 2006 03:48

It doesnt really help. The easiest way to do it is to file down just a bit of the back of the mechbox. I had a mere millimeter before the thing would slide into place I did not want to force it anymore then I had to. So I simply filed down the back just to give it more off a slope and bang! Into place!

integratyperx January 26th, 2006 18:53

Where did you get one from? I'm still looking to buy one.

8O

You should wait a Mk2... well it's your money

Have fun

integratyperx January 29th, 2006 00:04

You just need to modify them a bit, mainly filing, forum members have PM'd me and discussed this in other threads.

thorvald February 15th, 2006 16:33

I was just looking more closely at the Guarder instructions and they show you need to glue some sort of plastic spacer inside the body (rather long item).

What exactly is this for? To wedge the mech box in tighter?

Never had to do that with a G&P body.

Thanks

MadMax February 15th, 2006 17:14

I'm not sure what that part does. When I look at a TM shell in a C8 upper, I don't see any purpose for it except to fill in the space there. It doesn't provide any useful saddling for the mechbox or alignment for the rec'r.

I think you can skip that part of the instructions.

DuffMan February 18th, 2006 00:53

I got mine built by bartek today, and it's a beautiful piece of kit. Magwell is a bit tight and needs to be worked in and/or filed down.

DuffMan February 18th, 2006 02:30

Well, my mechbox is a stock TM shell and there had to be a little filing done to wedge it into the lower body. It wasn't hell, but as manchovie can attest it wasn't a walk in the park.

MAFIA February 18th, 2006 14:00

anyone try installing a systema complete mechbox in one of these?

damage February 22nd, 2006 02:20

I just got one today. I Havent touch it yet. Waiting for more reviews before I do something stupid. Hows the fit with the following gboxes and which is recommended? TM, Progear box and Systema full gbox? Performance?

MadMax February 22nd, 2006 02:43

I did do a pretty comprehensive fitment study on TM mechboxes. I don't have any Systema boxes to work with right now so I don't know about the issues with SystemA.

Droc February 22nd, 2006 09:19

as a fallowup, i had to file down the back of my hurricane reinforced mechbox and it slids on great now.

damage February 26th, 2006 04:09

So how was the performance fellas? Your prefered gearbox how was it? Any more issues so far beside the fitment problem? How's the stock hop up unit are they good? Just gathering info before I start my project. ;) Peace!

damage March 7th, 2006 23:29

So how was it? I test fitted mine today to get my project going and yesh! it is really a bitch. Ah I'll start the mods tommorow. Performance feedback would really help guys. Peace.
