Poll / Discussion...

Stealth Camoflague of course...god learn from MGS...Just kidding I love U.S. woodland and the old Vietnam Era ones Tiger Stripes...i wish I had tiger stripes...
|
You should really add a 'Chairsofter' option so that the ones that don't own any camo can still see the results, helps them/us pick.

Yeah I was going to say...where's the old skool Woodland?
|
Where's the tigerstripe love?
|
Multicam, unless camo is restricted in the game.

It was a bit of a pain to get the poll set up as I only had five mins to put everything in from the time I posted the thread. I screwed the first one up and had to get the thread trashed. It's not exactaly going as I had planed. I'm not sure if mods can add stuff to polls though. If you (mods) can, feel free to add Woodland and TigerStripe to the poll to correct my unworthyness. ;-) |
tiger stripe! can I get a hooya

Multicam works amazingly well pretty much everywhere I've worn it. The only problem I've had was in the summer when it's really green and then people said they saw me only while I was moving. Once I stopped and crouched, it's hard to see. But like other camo's, it's just as much using the local terrain to blend in as the camo to disrupt you shape. In the height of summer, when Cadpat rules the roost here, I found the best way to "hide" in Multicam was to stand right beside a medium to large sized tree. Other players would walk within 10 feet of me and not notice. If a tree wasn't available, crouching behind a bush or laying down worked not too bad.
I mean, let's face it, the stuff doesn't work everywhere, under all circumstances, nothing does. But if you play year round (I do), it's probably the best overall camo to have, if you only use one pattern. Other players I've gamed with around here have worn Cadpat & woodland in winter and while it works ok in the bush, especially evergreens, they're toast when they're in the open. |

What color gear do you use with it? OD, Tan or did ya pimp out some Multicam Webing? |
Whatever works best in the environment for me.
CADPAT TW for summer season like conditions and planning on getting a set of Woodland MARPAT for fall like season, not sure if I'll be playing in winter yet. |

Me in Multicam & my OD Sigma. Way to big to post here. http://www.airsoftcanada.com/gallery...4_original.jpg |
I added US Woodland and Tiger Stripe to the list for ya's.

CADPAT, pretty much.
Some splodges of other country's stuff too, but not much. For example, every once in a while I have a shemagh, and every once in a while I have a black balaclava. |
no ghillie suit option? Other is not good enough.
Cadpat then. It's under my ghillie suit anyway. |
Go ACU!!! Who's the other person that picked ACU? *lol* I've changed my main setup to ACU recently - it's not as effective as Cadpat, but it's not too bad (the latest version). Primary reason for the change is to go for some variation at the games... everyone's usually Cadpat - I'm getting a bit tired of only seeing Cadpat and Woodland at games.
|
I use Cadpat, but the are fading. So, I want/need to get some Marpat.
|
DPM, nothing beats it.
|
Woodland rocks!
-DB |
2 votes for ACUPAT... That really scares me. That is by far the ugliest shit ive ever seen. ;)
I pitty you two guys... |
My whole loadout is in DPM. The odd piece in OD doesn't hurt though.
I'm wanting to loadup on Desert DPM for this summer though... |
I like to use DPM woodland or desert. As strange as it can be, desert DPM is pretty good in the wood because you can be confused with the ground (dead leaves, branches of trees)

For desert DPM, nice one, I like it. I got no problem to find the jacket, but for trouser, it has been hard to find one. So I ordered one used at Flecktarn.co.uk. The trouser was still in very good condition. I paid around 45$ shipping included. I found the boonie hat on ebay. |

definitly ! ;)
|
*starts drooling*
All I've got right now in the way of desert DPM in my bush hat which I've cut down and added a drawstring for around the back of my head. Right now I'm sewing a custom pocket onto my S95 jacket 8-) |
I voted cadpat. But just curious now, are there any statistics or research that shows that cadpat is a superior BDU? I keep reading stuff on ASC such as: "cadpat is 34% better than such and such". Is there any data to back up these claims?
|
marpat all the way. we did an impromptu test this summer between acu, multicam, cadpat and marpat in summer green foliage. cadpat was best, then marpat them multi-cam and last acu. later we tried low light and cadpat and marpat were best and acu was worst. marpat still the best i think for general use. i had mercied guys in mutli-cam when they nearly stepped on my marpat-ed ass. but next year i'm going to try out my cloaking device i made with my new anti-matter reactor.
|
does MARPAT fade as bad as CADPAT?
|
yes. but i have 3 sets of marpat and rotate them to avoid overusing i set till it's toast. and i only wash them when they're really disgusting. a little dirt and dust and i just hang them up.
|
dirt/dust and mud add extra camo :D
I probly wash my gear no more than 1once a year mabe. might be nasty but ahh well. |
eww...that's gotta be hell on the fabric.
I wash my DPM's after every weekend. It's true that they do fade, but it's very VERY slow. Remember, it's the wear that occurs when being used that fades their color, not the wash cycle. As for CADPAT, it's only the GenI that fades horribly. The newer GenII and III will last a long time under normal use. |
Yea but it's a little hard to get gen3 for airsoft use.
|
What about rastaflage?
|

Dude! It's up to 50! now for ACU. Ahhhhhhh ;-) |

I'm very surprised to see ACU as the mostly used. In games, I normaly saw only one guy with ACU and a tons of cadpat hehe

As I've said before, the ACU looks grey in cameras - I've tested many lighting conditions / filters in cameras with sunlight. ACU comes out greyish, but if you look at it in person, it's greener (the latest version, anyway). The point of ACU? Well, look at the possible theatres of operation the US will conduct in the near future - I think it's design is obvious. |
ACU is supposed to be an offensive multi-climate camoflage. It's printed with colors that appeal to both temperate and desert theaters, the problem being is that they end up being grey tones (which don't work well in either theater).
All hail temperate DPM!!! |
3 color was missing from this poll as well...but all the digital patterns made it on. Weird!
|
Fleck, no substitutes!!
|
MARPAT all the way... Issue marpat that is....
As for muticam, from what I saw, it sticks out like a sore thum in Ontario, during the summer, making it kind of useless IMO. edit - Issue marpat also takes longer to fade than cadpat. |
YaY! Minority!!!! 1 vote for me and my "Other European" camo aka The Polish camo.
|
Are you the guy we kept on confusing as a woodlands player?
