Gun Skin.
 

So I was in the market for a high quaity paint job or a dip job to apply mulitcam to my M4 my scope, my suppressor and 5 magazines. The prices were in the ~250.00 range for both Dip and high quality custom paint. I decided that was too rich for my blood and ordered an M4 Cammo Skin kit instead. Full cost was $65.00 cdn after shipping and conversion. Enough material for the gun, the suppressor the scope and at least 1 mag.(hope to scavenge enough material for a few more mags...)

Has anyone here had any experience with Gun Skin?

what a silly product. a bad paint job looks better than a good install of this vinyl sticker shit. forget about using this on a real rile. scraping melted/burnt vinyl from a barrel should be loads of fun.

Don't think it's too bad, kind of pricey for what it is though. Ideally this is for the people who don't want to paint on their original rifles and who can't do a proper paint job..

I have been using Mcnett's gun wrap this past winter. Basicly the same material as the medical field uses for wrappiing sprains and such. It is self clinging, washable and reusable. I have been using the winter camo and just last week did my Scar-H SSR in Mossy oak which looks more like a green Atacs. It works really tp wrap the barrel and stock, you would have to play around with it to do the midsection of a rifle. The company seems to have a good selection of colors, winter camo, multi cam, Desert, and others. Bass Pro cares it, but limited colors or you can order right from Mcnett. It ranges from $15.00 to $20.00 a roll. One roll will do a gun about the size of the SSR. I have never post pics here but I will try and figure out how and put some up.

I have used GunSkin on my G36C it's not the easiest to work with, but looks nice. Plus it doesn't leave anything behind if you decide to remove it, I had it on a flashlight and just ripped it off no problem.

This looks interested, might have to do a bit of research on this one. Like how it's just one roll I can work with.

I will give that a try when I get home tonight Bio, the other nice thing with the Mcnetts camo is there is nothing left on the gun after it is removed, comes off leaving the gun totally clean. Your are supposed to be able to wash it in warm water after removal and it restores its self adhesion if I read the instructions right.

That is correct on both counts. Comes off and back on with no residue and can be washed if you get let's say paintball leavings on it.

Gunskins just peels off very easily and leaves absolutely no residue behind. Heating it with a hair dryer makes it easy to get in all of the nooks and crannys.

Awesome thread! I was going to buy a camo shirt and rip it up to add strips to my gun but these products might fit the bill better.

I'm glad this thread has sparked a good discussion. I will be getting my skin in a few days. Some time next week, (hopefully) I can post a few pictures and a review.

I got some and it's pretty good, holds up fine running through thick bush and was pretty easy to apply, all you need is a heat gun and a sharp knife or razor blade. You won't have to worry about scraping off burnt vinyl unless you are an idiot and light it on fire. I picked up the ar kit and a gear kit and have so much I don't know what to do with it all. lol! Works well on just about anything, knifes, pelican cases, you name it. I've even seen a guy do his dash with it!
