Madbull Noveske Keymod rails

Re: Madbull Noveske NSR keymod rails
http://madbull.com/catalog/index.php...roducts_id=606 Are these rails using RS Keymod specifications. The ad says modified for airsoft??? |
From what I understand the majority of the Keymod rails for airsoft are not RS spec. If it's RS spec there should be a bevel on the backside of each Keymod hole. I haven't handled a Madbull rail so I can only go by what I have read and seen on Youtube which is PTS is the only ones making a true RS spec'd Keymod rail.
|
The other question is, will RS accessories for RS keymod rails fit onto airsoft keymod rails? What's the reason for the incompatibility?
Picatinny rails were the same for both airsoft and RS... |
Depends on the accessory - I have an HSP Thorntail Keymod mount on my Dytac URX4 and it works great. NSR plastic rail panels however - do not work.
The screw-down accessories usually work fine - at least for Dytac Keymod products anyway. |

So I guess the Noveske Rifleworks NSR KEYMOD Polymer Rail Panel Set won't work on a Noveske Keymod rail by Madbull?
|
That... I don't know and the fitment depends entirely on the thickness of the rail. The Keymod specification requires a specific maximum wall thickness for those panels to work.

I wonder if the Madbull Strike megafins rail is made to RS specs?

They will be selling the rails separately, I have my eye on the Centurion Arms CMR for my WE M4.

I suspect the off-spec specs are a requirement from Noveske so people don't use the airsoft version on RS (I've read of people doing it), but if RS keymod accessories won't be compatible, unless Madbull is putting them out at a similar quality and much lower price, I suspect it'll be a deal breaker for most people -- and they'll simply wait to get the unlicensed RS spec Chinese knockoffs.
|
I am not a fan of the over all looks of the Key Mod rail, so until a sexy Key Mod rail comes out no Key Mod on my M4. I do like the idea of all the direct attach accessories coming out for the KM system, doing away with the need for extra rails altogether. But from my understanding the Mega Arms rifle has a proprietary rail so it flows with the receiver, but they are coming out with a generic Key Mod rail for standard M4's.

I would rather Madbull put out a RS spec KM rail and just block the gas block feature so airsofters would benefit.
|
The blocked gas tube is why I didn't like the TRX so much, killed the realism GBBRs without the gas tube is just wrong IMHO. If they did something easily modded like they did with the DD MK series and just filled the hole which was easily drilled out. That way its a user mod and they are free of liabilities.

Wait you thought it was actually billet for sub $500 USD?

As soon as I hear anything like "CNC" or "billet" or "forged" being used around airsoft parts, I immediately chalk it up to marketing jargon..Unless you're dealing with Suzutomo, or Eagle Eye.
The price is usually a giveaway. In other news, Rainier Arms has just released their Force series Keymod rails at very attractive price-points. |

What the rep is saying in the PTS video is a lie/false information not to be confused with jargon. |
Stealth,
I have been looking at the DYTAC Keymod rail on your site for a while now and assuming what you say is jargon, the specs say "anodized aircraft grade T6-6061", so because it is an airsoft part made in Hong Kong, am I to assume it is "painted pot-metal"? http://www.airsoftstore.ca/index.php...h2ccbse9g9pks2 |
The Dytac rails - As far as I can tell is aluminum, whether or not it's actually 6061T6 is questionable.
The anodizing looks to be Type II, as it's quite thin - it's not painted. You should always question the material and process of airsoft parts. But in my mind, if I'm paying a quarter of the price for a replica that is even half as good as the real steel counterpart - I'm coming out on top. Let's be honest - If I want 7075, Type III A hardcoat anodize, I'm going to spend the money for the real deal. |
