The TM M4 S System.

Ive been thinking of getting one anyone like them ? whats wrong with them etc etc .

Sorry if there is already a thread but i didnt see one and the search is all whack.

love mine...the rail system really seems to solidify and solve the barrel wobble issue.

One of my teammates also has one...slipped in some mud and fell barrel first into the dirt this past spring. Nice hole in the ground where the barrel entered, probably went 3-4 inches below the surface. After cleaning the mud and inner barrel...absolutenly nothing wrong...no cracks, no bending, still shoots fine today.

I dare you to try that with a full sized A2 ;)

yeah Im waiting in a ICS M4 RIS i was suposed to get it last week but the guy still hasnt deliverd so im thinking of just sayin screw it and getting the TM M4 S system.

thePiRaTE!! August 28th, 2005 05:31

A friend and I each put down a deposit on S-Systems a couple weeks ago and resigned ourselves to wait for Star VLTOR modstocks for 1700Mah batteries to come in special order (check these out if you do get the S-System, the VLTOR or Crane modstocks by Star). Turns out the wrong stocks were shipped along with no batteries *cry* Looks like it might be another month 'til I get my first AEG. Since that time I think I've looked at every picture of it on the internet twice and it seems to get better each day, lol.

dead_aim September 6th, 2005 20:17

is it full metal out of the box?? is the SIR all metal??

LaZeDoUt^Jr. September 6th, 2005 21:10

The TM M4 S system is not full metal. The body is plastic like all other TM guns. In fact, the SIR system is not even full metal.

dead_aim September 6th, 2005 22:47

oh yah...damn....oh well then

lamlok September 7th, 2005 11:05

there is no metal body available as upgrade for S system.
if you really like SIR, get a basic M4, buy ICS or Samurai SIR and 1 piece barrel (if your budget is large enough, get the metal body too)

Allstarr September 7th, 2005 11:18

Damn i cant imagine a M4s fmu, even a stock m4s is heavy

I love mine!

Green_Igor September 7th, 2005 11:21

but many things are upgraded don't forget, like the tabs are reinforced to prevent breakage which is a bit more common in the M4 lineup.

I wonder why that is... perhaps manufacturers believe it's already sturdy enough? Granted, the M4S is quite sturdy, and I don't really see a need for a metal body... but it'd be nice to have that as an option.

Nocturnal September 7th, 2005 14:47

it is uber sturdy.. but i thought you could swap out the body for a metal aftermarket one?!

anyway.. phalanix.. how is your first armalite ?

dead_aim September 7th, 2005 15:27

i'll prolly grab a g&p m4a1 and an SIR...looks like mad $$$$$$

You probably could.. but I'm not sure - perhaps some subtle differences between the body designs? Haven't really seen it being mentioned on the Net.

Well, this would be my second Armalite actually. First was a CA about 3 years back... that sucked like hell, didn't work out of the box. Nothing was right with that piece of crapalite. *lol* But I'm rather keen with this new M4-S, I've already changed the stock and handgrip on it. Now it's quite comfortable to hold - I'll be testing it out at our next TD, so you'll see it if you're coming. ;)

This'll be my new baby until the M14 comes in...

newtype September 9th, 2005 02:37

you can use Zeke M4 metal bodies on m4s.
I like mine. Just lil bit grumppy about the fake SIR that can't come off the body like the samurai or ICS. Also the barrel is not actually one peice, broken down infront of the delta ring. The gas tube is not one peice either.
Other than these, I like it.

quikstrike September 9th, 2005 12:31

Just thought I'd say something.

I love my s system, it's dam sexy and sturdy to put it into laymens terms. I am very happy with it, havent had problems yet at all, plus all my military friends drool over it because it is exactly the same as a c8 with a sopmod rail.

It is not full metal, but the parts that are plastic like the receiver etc... Has the same feel, texture and look, until you flick it an realize its plastic. It is also very very similar to a real c8 (M4A1) with weight distribution etc... The weight is also almost the same. I'm really happy with mine, it was a good investment.

Well time for me to bust, hopefully I've helped a little bit.

xplizit September 16th, 2005 22:36

i just bought an m4-s
and its really sturdy compared to my m4a1 that i had in the past. (sold it to v82slo) and its converted into an M4s now also.
Absolutly love the gun, looking to upgrade it to about 380 FPS and getting a velocity reducer for indoor use... i can't afford an indoor and out door :S
any ideas what i should upgrade?

This is true, but for the price you pay for the TM M4s, its a solid package. The critical stress points and rails are metal. Of course, on a real steel M4 and SIR you need light-weight machined aluminum because the heat the gun generates would melt plastic, but lucky for us in airsoft, thats not the case. Basically, the SIR on TM M4s is strong where it needs to be and doesn't need to worry about melting so it can use cheaper/lighter ABS in the body and metal in connection points and rails, which saves us weight and cost for similar durability and gives us the same effect for a fraction of the price. Having said that, one could always outfit their favourite m4 with an ARMS SIR for the meagre sum of the cost of the gun + 399USD. Plus the rear flip up sight - 99USD. And front flip up sight. And swivel sling mounts.

Nocturnal September 18th, 2005 11:25

what the pirate says is sensible. if you want full metal be prepared to pay a hefty price tag. you can get full metal guns nowadays but not all of those from ANY of the other manufacturers work like a dream as any of the TM guns out of the box.

it's really up to you.
I recently got a TM M4 S-System and compared to the other full metal guns i have had in the past, the weight is very much like them.
- DTP metal body M16 w/M5 RAS unit & G&P QD M203 long
- Systema full metal M4 RAS w/ SP M203 long

Full metal body's are lightweight now, it's just the cold touch you get when you feel it that is different. Metal bodies can only take so much stress and depends on what you do with your guns when playing.

Also, you lose the easy take down feature if you switch to a metal body and if you break a tab it is costly to replace the whole body. i hope TM release the M4 S-System body as an aftermarket part so we can replace our bodies if we need to. I'd replace the ones on my other TM M4s if the price is right.

so you do not like the S.I.R. replica then? the real ARMS one isnt full metal as someone already stated.
So I guess you are refering to wanting the M4 body being metal. That is all that really can be changed to metal everything else is already pot metal or aluminum to make your gun full metal.

its around $680 for the TM M4 S-System. you could save for G&G or ICS Armalites that cost around $700-$900 in canada.

though if you aren't someone that knows how to fix your own gun, you may have your gun sitting in the shop for a while if you get a lemon.
