Revolution Airsoft = Absolutely Ridiculous

So in December I finally decided to go ahead and purchase the WE Tech HK 4168 from Revolution Airsoft. The shipping was pretty quick as I received the package from Calgary, Alberta to Waterloo, Ontario within 4 days of purchasing it.

But as I opened the box the rifle fell into two pieces. I emailed them about it and they told me to send the gun back to Calgary and they would take a look at it. The tracking info says that it arrived on December 27th and they attempted to deliver it but no one was there to receive it. So I emailed them telling them about the situation and the response I received was that they would "get someone to pick it up as soon as possible". After a month of dealing with Canada Post, it was finally shipped and was successfully delivered to the address they provided me with.

Since then I have not received any response. I have emailed them countless times using a variety of departments, such as their sales/general, and have gotten no response at all. So now i'm $500 bucks out with no gun

Anyone had a similar experience and have any advice?

Phileas Fogg January 31st, 2013 17:00

Viking had the exact same experience. He started a thread about it.

Shirley January 31st, 2013 17:00

Looking at their website, they do have a "staff" in Ontario.
Stop e-mailing and call.
If it's business, calling is much more effective.

Moonschlagen January 31st, 2013 17:21

Apparently Revolution is super busy so that may be why its taking an unusually long time for a proper response.

THE BOSS January 31st, 2013 17:29

they are always super busy.... so they say.

I had a few products shipped - it took long but it arrived well.

But their protective packaging is a joke and the rootcause for such damages...

Postal services are not known for handling bigger boxes with care...

a responsible retailer ensures the goods are protected properly

to me a part of customer Service.

Styrak January 31st, 2013 18:34

Did you use Paypal or credit card? If so file a complaint/chargeback. Either that will light a fire under their asses or it will just get you your money back.

pestobanana January 31st, 2013 19:17

How long has it been since they picked it up?
When I had a defective gun it took them 3 weeks after receiving it back to ship me out a new one.

That's funny they told my buddy the same thing when his showed with every nut and screw loose and the handgrip and motor were laying in the box.

Nickaayyy February 14th, 2013 16:56

Kind of wierd, I thought normally they where good with the customer and had no problem for an exchange if it was broken. I may have no choice to buy rom them anyway, they have the best price for my HK416 :/

chaosrealm93 February 14th, 2013 17:35

sounds like a shifty company..

Might be wise to pay a bit more but avoid surprises and unpleasantness...

Nickaayyy February 14th, 2013 21:03

Yeah... think i'm gonna search for another place :/

EpicWindz February 14th, 2013 21:30

007airsoft.com - got my c8 gun a day after I placed the order! And I didn't pay extra for shipping!

mrfister February 14th, 2013 22:49

nick if i where you i would save the extra $125 and get the RA Tech version of the WE 418. I think its well worth the money for the upgraded internals already installed

pestobanana February 15th, 2013 07:32

I've ordered from them twice, both times they shipped within a few days and the guns were packaged decently. One gun had cycling issues in the cold, and they replaced it for me, however that did take a month. The other gun arrived with some loose parts, which I fixed just by taking the gun apart and tightening up all the screws.

I have yet to have a particularly negative experience.

Dind'T know they made one with the Ra-Tech already on it. Gonna check on Google for a place where they sell it. Thanks for the info !!

Anthology February 15th, 2013 09:33

I won a pistol during their contest in the summer. It arrived within a week or so after they said they had shipped the prizes (I live near their warehouse). Checked it out and gave it to my buddy. He doesn't use it much, but no problems out of the box. This was during summer 2012 so I can't attest to their service now. My single experience with them has been positive.

I will say I've noticed their twitter/facebook updates have been sporadic as of the end of 2012. I really think they need to hire a few more employees. From the games I've attended, most people have been fairly happy with their service.

You will have an easier time finding what your looking for if your AV'd. Then you will have access to the ASC only retailers some of which can bring in exactly what your looking for. Also you gain access to the classifieds where you can find a few good deals on what you are looking for. And a bonus you will save some money since Google only points you in the direction of the over priced stores like Milsig that count on underagers with mommy and daddy's credit card.

And as an added bonus with AV status comes we can openly tell you how get or where to get certain things.

Nickaayyy February 15th, 2013 10:01

Yeah start to see it's gonna be a must to buy some good stuff, think I'm gonna check when the next game in montreal just to get AV. In the same time, it will able me to meet the gang in my corner of Canada :D

For Milsig I know the prize are ridiculous. In paintball, you pay 1300$ for a gun that work like an Tippmann A5 (240$) but with the mag feeding. We alwars laught o0f people who bought Milsig and I have no intention to do this mistake XD

JKxWKW February 16th, 2013 15:26

is that store reliable? i read reviews back in April that it was bad.

Edit: i meant the store that was specified above this comment.

Ricochet February 17th, 2013 02:40

My order went 100% okay with them. Bought a King Arms Colt M4, and it arrived without so much as a scratch on the box. I know a few others that have ordered from them without incident. Maybe we were lucky? I have heard that they are seriously backed up, and always busy; but they should get back to their clientele with at least update emails.

-=ArchAngel=- February 17th, 2013 05:24

From The Viking's thread, it does seem like they're super backed up and severely understaffed. He eventually got his replacement gun (which is good), but is currently waiting on shipping refunds n some extra loyalty points for his inconvenience.

Ricochet February 18th, 2013 02:15

Hopefully it's just a matter of them expanding, and getting with the program. Hopefully everyone gets reimbursed, squared up, and reconciled.

Captncouth February 18th, 2013 03:03

I've ordered from them 2 different times and had no problems at all. The $3 to wrap in brown paper is kinda lame, but what ever. They shipped out fast and never took any longer than 3 days to get to me.

mrfister February 18th, 2013 03:25

I would imagine all retailers are great when there is no problem. It's when there is a problem that is the defining moment for a retailer.

That would be a defining moment for anyone, anywhere.

tysaa February 18th, 2013 10:30

UPDATE

So apparently I the customer service reps don't communicate as I was being answered on 2 different threads. (both had the same RMA ticket # and email)

The first one told me they received it and they'll offer another gun that's the same price because they're out of stock which is frustrating.

The second thread was after I posted on their Facebook page and it told me they have not received anything but they'll throw in loyalty points and get pay for the fastest shipping. After I told them even Canada post said it was successfully delivered, they stopped replying again.

In the end I just asked for a refund. So when you order from them you roll the dice and hopefully everything is fine, if you have any problems then you're SOL

mrfister February 18th, 2013 11:45

well if you enjoy the thrill of gambling, sometime you win and sometimes you loose, sounds like the place to go. roulette airsoft....

Scrivah February 18th, 2013 13:24

Man thats a crappy situation to be in. I have only ever bought a pistol from them and have had no issues. The KWA comes in a well package box so no issues with damages. I have also emailed them questions and have gotten responses in decent time.

BennyBoy February 18th, 2013 13:35

I've ordered two pistols and two shotguns with no issues so far.

plaugue February 18th, 2013 15:34

My Brother Bought an A&K Mk43 Mod0 from them in august last year when it arrived the mag box was broken and they told him he they only had a 7 day warranty from time of purchase he received his gun on the 7th day, so after a month of arguing on their facebook page and emails and talking on the phone he got a replacement.Dont buy from them

illestgoose February 18th, 2013 19:22

Maybe the problem is that it's a WE gas system and not a WA? Hah.

Thenooblord February 19th, 2013 02:36

While I agree that Jarek is an Idiot, if thats the vid Im thinking of thats WEs fault, not his, he was just shooting the gun, not doing anything wrong with it

Deadpool February 19th, 2013 10:33

He must've melded the gas to make it 8000fps Uber pistol.

Oh is that the guy (Jarek4) that was talking about a super melded spring or something a few years ago? That was some ridiculous/funny shit

Yup! That's the one!

Google him if you want to laugh and facepalm all day long.

Nickaayyy February 19th, 2013 11:44

Definively have to watch those videos, just read an old post a tournament of 283country's (blue something dont remember). Think i'm gonna laugh for a while XD

Swattiger February 19th, 2013 13:17

I am pretty happy with their service and price, except the extra cost on packing seems a bit weird as no other retailers charge such thing. I prefer them to include this in their price as this is a "MUST" as they are an online store.

how much is this charge? What was your total after all charges included, and the price listed online?

Swattiger April 24th, 2013 23:33

The charge is $5, shipping is $25. The G&G F2000 is $479 + 13% HST. So total war around $ 550.

5 days after I bought the gun, they put it on sale at $425. I tried my luck by sending an e-mail to them asking if they could offer the same discounted price to me and they said no.

This is fine. But I think they should revisit their shipping policy as quite a few retailers offer free shipping for purchase over certain amount to maintain their competitiveness.

ErikPervin April 25th, 2013 07:00

Oh ok that's not too bad. Does anyone understand what/how group deals work? If I pitch with to buy, lets say, 4 guns or 5 guns do they give you some % discount? Or are there "group deals" that THEY designate, like sale items?

that's not how it works sometimes, though not lately, they'd post up a gun on group deal for example I got a javlin m24 for $100. the way it works though is it was say 30 units and they all had to be sold before they would ordet them in and ship them out. they got a deal ordering so many and then passed that savings on.

mike_sinyard April 29th, 2013 17:41

WOW does this website EVER restock anything.... Been waiting a month for the kwa m9

Spike April 29th, 2013 18:16

It's why the prices are low... they buy shit tons of stock all at once, but can't afford to restock till 99% of it is sold.

mike_sinyard April 29th, 2013 18:19

They just bragged about a shipment coming into the warehouse and today was up on the website... i swear the only thing they stocked was the stupid kriss vector

BennyBoy April 29th, 2013 18:20

they have Kriss Vector in stock /shrug
