TM AUG High Cycle

Hi,

I m looking into getting the new TM High Cycle Steyr Aug,

My questions would be:

Does it take regular TM and clone AUG mag?

Can we remove the funny front part with the foregrip?

Thanks!!!

Styrak November 13th, 2012 10:50

Yes it's a standard AUG. And yes you can remove the integrated vertical grip if you want.

Long_Bong November 13th, 2012 10:58

Thanks :)

Jimski November 13th, 2012 11:18

yep I believe the front part is mounted with a pin just like the original grip - I might be wrong - but it's probably possible to remove it and put back the regular front grip.

Long_Bong November 13th, 2012 11:47

Is it a regular gearbox (v3) with a new motor??

Jimski November 13th, 2012 12:01

probably new motor and gears, I don't see the point but meh.

Long_Bong November 13th, 2012 12:05

Curious to see for aftermarket part and spring swap

Styrak November 13th, 2012 13:51

Pretty sure it's just a standard AUG with a different motor and gearset.

Matula November 13th, 2012 21:21

*Plastic to rail and not to spec to boot (1mm smaller, so most optics will wobble on it) and mags are proprietary (not standard AUG mags)

lord_sid November 13th, 2012 22:04

i just gotta add. I love this gun. I need to pick up a tan one to add to the collection.

from what ive search on it, everything is pretty much the same body. Just with a new/different receiver/rail, short barrel, and the other external pieces like grip and charging handle. As for internals it has a high speed motor, ball bearing bushings, and high speed gears. One nice feature they added is a fire selector so it can go semi only.

I am assuming it might have high speed piston for shorter piston stroke for higher rof.

Looks like a standard AUG mag to me. Also TM would be retarded to not make it compatible, and there's no reason not to.
Also the reason it's "high cycle" isn't just gears and motor, it only shoots 250fps.

EDIT: Yup confirmed it's standard AUG mags.

Long_Bong November 13th, 2012 22:50

Wonder if the old mags will support the high rof

The 80 round low/mids will probably support almost any rate of fire setup you could have.

I don't know... the review (with pictures) I read mentioned a different rear outer barrel and hop-up unit, along with a longer nozzle, and the feed hole in the mag was on the very front edge, barely the thickness of the plastic wall...

Styrak November 14th, 2012 14:37

Looks the same to me

high cycle would only need a different spring I think

Different motor, highspeed gears, possibly lower power spring.
That's already been established though.

Long_Bong November 14th, 2012 15:12

So putting a 350 spring would remove the high rof, unless going with a 9.6v i imagine

Yes, it's not some sort of TM magic. It's just physics.

no I was talking about the spring in the magazine, nevermind lol

Matula November 14th, 2012 19:45

Tu vas détruire surtout ta gearbox. La majorité des pieces TM sont en plastique sauf les gear, l'anti reverse, et le spring.

You should keep it at 260fps, the fps doesn't matter anyway. It's a TM :)

True!!

Matula November 15th, 2012 10:44

Pour les performances :) (From airsoft France)

Long_Bong November 15th, 2012 14:23

Nice!!!

Long_Bong November 15th, 2012 15:00

Wonder if you can fit Phantom kit and the like

lord_sid November 15th, 2012 15:46

I dont think you can fit a phantom kit on it. The top rail is to close to the barrel and you wouldn't be able to fit a phantom kit over the barrel. Also looks like they shorten and removed the gas tube on the barrel knuckle piece. With it shorten, the phantom kits wouldn't be able to be attached.

Jimski November 15th, 2012 16:44

why would you fit a phantom kit on a shorty AUG ??? sacrilegeee

Long_Bong November 15th, 2012 17:01

True!

I m a AUG newbie! Shame on me!!!!

Long_Bong December 8th, 2012 10:27

Look much better without that weird ugly foregrip...

where to get one ? ( in canada )

Aquamarine December 9th, 2012 06:25

I should add that the TM Hi-Cap mags have feed issues (at least the ones that came with the gun in Japan). Often due to the weak(ish) tension of the wound-up spring, it will mis-feed. I had to buy new hi-cap mags in order to get mine to fire properly but be prepared to keep winding those suckers until the game ends cuz when this thing fires, it's like shooting a white laser.

Long_Bong December 9th, 2012 09:15

Anyone try normal mid cap in them?

Also have the same issue

I got a normal TM mid cap mag inbound, I ll share the testing result.

Also, throwing in a Madbull 6.01 got the fps to 300.

Matula January 11th, 2013 13:06

I tested my Steyr Aug 2 weeks ago on a field, really cool :)
But when you see how it's easy to shoot 330 bbs less than 30 sec... It s crazy.

I had 280 fps (weather around 9-10 degree). Enough to play with a marui. The range wasn't too bad. You just need to shoot a little more bbs :)

No real cap for this one!! lol

ps: I can't wait the mp5k high cycle! CQB killer ;)

Hum too high rof for outdoor Real Cap ;)

infernau April 23rd, 2013 15:08

I want one too but the problem is getting it into the country as the fps is 280 (under the replica speed= illegal) but if it's ordered state side and upgraded it's fine as long as it's shooting 366 fps + but then you're adding a fair expense (new gears and new spring) and by that time I think the rounds per second will decrease dramatically. Our speed laws suck!

WeAreLegion August 12th, 2013 01:33

I believe someone asked this, but I don't think they got an answer? But anyway I am looking to get one in Canada...? I have seen one store but it is out of stock and is for 900 dollars....which seems a little silly to me. Anyone have a place I can get it in Canada? Thanks for the help in advance!
