Whats a good loaner AEG ?

Hi I was hoping someone would help me with picking out a good loaner AEG that I can lend to friends for when they go game with me. Preferably an AEG that is a M4 with a RAS or anything else that's super reliable. Thanks.

boren93 March 25th, 2012 19:51

King Arms M4, it's price has been lowered so get AV'd as soon as you can.

The Chad March 25th, 2012 20:03

JG plastic bodied, never have to take them apart, good for a couple years.

Strikex7 March 25th, 2012 20:09

Which King Arms M4 is good ? or are you just saying King Arms M4 in general?

JG hmm... I was looking at Dboys and APS too are they all around the same quality even though they are china guns?

Juke16 March 25th, 2012 20:11

Stay away from APS like the plague, a quick search of APS on this forum as well as on other forums such as Arnies will give you a general idea of how good they are. I believe there is only one good review of an APS gun.

Like everyone else said, stay away from APS : A Piece of Shit!

Strikex7 March 25th, 2012 20:13

phloudernow March 25th, 2012 20:15

Best brand, IMO, are G&P, King Arms, some G&Gs, CLassic Army and KWA.

EDIT: I would also reccomend getting Age Verified, because if you're under 18, the only help you'll get are the names of the brands, we won't tell you where to get those guns!

Strikex7 March 25th, 2012 20:19

Oh yeah I know about that I've been trying to get mmmken to reply and age verify me but I guess he's busy. Funny thing about King Arms its like double the price of my S&T / Umarex G36cv lol. But yeah I'll try to get age verified as soon as possible

Age verification has it's advantages, but you'll see, it also creates holes in people's wallets

And yes, the price may be higher than that G36,but the quality is higher!

Haha, a lot!

Can'T discuss this too much, as this isn't an AV discussion though!

Strikex7 March 25th, 2012 20:32

175$ !!! OMG,yeah I see this! That's an awesome deal!

Strikex7 March 25th, 2012 20:42

http://shop.ehobbyasia.com/catalog/p.../category/357/ Here you go buddy I'm so split on getting this and what accessories to go with it... Also shipping is crazy but the price! its sooo nice!

Ehobby is not in canada. You should probably read the FAQ section before you make any overseas orders. Just be patient, get age varified and you will be able to see what is available to you in canada. Trust me from experience its better to wait then get effed over..

Strikex7 March 25th, 2012 20:48

Ah yeah about that I know about the FAQ I've haven't had a problem yet with this method thanks for the advice though appreciate it.

ap27 March 25th, 2012 20:49

Get a KWA M4 or G36c with the 2GX gearbox. They're really tough.

I have an Umarex G36cv But I will look into the KWA M4

skalnok March 25th, 2012 20:55

get another g36 in a k or e configuration, that way the mags are compatible with what you already use so you wont have to buy more mags.

Strikex7 March 25th, 2012 20:59

True But I still want a M4 for myself if I want to play with that instead of my G36 in a game plus I know a whole bunch of places to get Mid caps for like $20-30 bundles of like 5+

Strikex7 March 25th, 2012 21:02

So I was thinking a M4 with a MOE Handguard then add on rails as I need later on or when they go on sale sounds good? or should I just opt for a RIS/RAS Handguard?

coach March 25th, 2012 21:03

a good loaner is any gun that will shoot and you're not going to cry over it if the borrower strips the piston or falls on it and breaks it in half. but, it should also be something that you would be comfortable enough to game.

This didn't raise any warning bells?
The gun he is asking for shooting at 320 fps?

Note: This gun will not make it through customs and trying to import it will likely get you into some trouble. It is firing only 320fps.

phloudernow March 25th, 2012 22:22

If he says its going to get through let him do it, he can always learn it the hard way :)

5kull March 26th, 2012 07:31

Don't order outside of Canada, you will probably lose your money if you dont know what your doing. I wish you were AV'ed, it's a great time to buy in Canada. Price and selection have never been so good. For your loaner, King arms and Classic Army for the price/reliability. But your loaner can be something different then an M4/G36. Shotguns come to mind, MP5K, AK etc. The advantage is that you get a second airsoft that is suitable for other jobs like CQB.

PrIeSt March 26th, 2012 10:57

Ehobby won't ship a slow gun to Canada. They will make you pay to upgrade it. Usually 40 bucks.

icdbko32 March 26th, 2012 11:10

an airsoft store in tornto has a decent deal on VA V4A1 right now for $188.

I just got it today and it feels pretty solid although it has a polymer lower but so far I'm impressed with it

ap27 March 26th, 2012 11:18

You should remove the name of the retailer. Non-AV members can see this section.

boren93 March 26th, 2012 13:26

I'm sure they can find the names in the Retailer Resolution section =/

Curo March 26th, 2012 13:32

Dont matter giving out retailer names is against the rules.

Jaelommiss March 26th, 2012 13:36

My loaner gun is an ICS MP5, bought from the classified section for a mere $150. After getting it shimmed + MOSFET it works great with a 7.4 LiPo.

My real advice is to keep an eye out for deals in the classifieds due to broken car, need to pay debt, sudden expenses, etc. They tend to sell quickly (the MP5 had twelve potential buyers after two hours), but they save you a ton of money. I like to keep a small sum in the bank just in case a deal comes up.

vondnik March 26th, 2012 14:40

I used tm g36, tm ak and tm tompson as loners and rentals for years.

Basicaly anything that does not have a gen 2 mechbox with a good capacity highcap and few moving parts is a good loaner.

obsolete March 26th, 2012 14:57

I dunno if I would buy a gun just for a "loaner"

My suggestion is to buy guns you like and not worry about buying guns for other people to use. If you have a primary only then buy a backup.

I play with a private invite only group so anyone can take any of my guns whenever they like, I don't worry too much about my friends wrecking my stuff.

j_march March 26th, 2012 15:40

I use a slingshot for a loner.......makes my buddies want to upgrade real quick. JK haha

MaciekA March 26th, 2012 18:46

The Velocity Arms VA36 (G36) is a nice loaner gun. Lightweight, fairly reliable, inexpensive, TM compatible, version 3 gearbox, and it can be serviced and upgraded fairly easily.

Other viable alternatives are pretty much any inexpensive AK made by CYMA or re-badgers of CYMA, or Echo1, etc. AKs are often the least expensive options out there, and the V3 gearbox is great for reliability.

Strikex7 March 27th, 2012 01:21

Hmm that's a lot of good suggestions but I've decided on the King Arms CASV its at a very special price on a certain site of mine. With regards of being Av'd I need to get verified around Scarborough/Markham line so like on Steels do you guys know any of the Age Verifiers that usually respond quickly. Also before you ask I have messaged like 3 different reps in my area already and no reply yet. Thanks for all the feed back everyone Hope to see you guys in a game soon!

Frank at Toronto Airsoft is someone you can physically go to and get AV'd through.

kaiu March 27th, 2012 10:10

If you are looking at cheap.... I have noticed P90s nowadays are dirt cheap, and super easy to work on....

Plastic bodies with metal uppers usually... Since you are like hugging it, and with them being so small, not much to worry about breaking.

Don't forget they have supposedly one of the strongest mechboxes too :D

Echo1/KS P90s are dirt cheap, CA P90s are pretty cheap nowadays too... Although CA gears are hit or miss in regards to quality control? (My CA P90 gears have different widths on each end and yeah, had to replace them...)

On the other hand, Full KS P90 drop in gearbox kits are under $40 if you want to save money.

Wouldn't hurt to get a Thompson since they are cheap, and use the same gearbox too... Let's you have the option of doing a WW2 loadout when you're bored too :P

Strikex7 April 2nd, 2012 23:34

Argg I'm still waiting for them to ship... at this rate my battery will come in before this...

brently0725 April 3rd, 2012 01:01

A TM AK Beta Spetz. Stock spring with metal bushings. Bar none!!! This gun is a work horse.

kylem_8 April 3rd, 2012 03:12

Classic Army X-Series

SMIC4 April 3rd, 2012 19:22

Mossberg 590 shotgun, $25 at the hardware store. No batteries required. Small and durable. Even comes with a tact light and a non working scope that will put a smile on your face! Magazine could be better, but you can modify it to take m4 magazines.

cooney April 3rd, 2012 19:45

Systema PTW, you should always let the new guy always have the BEST EXPERIENCE for airsoft!

I vote Real steel M-4/Car-15 with Simuntion! Throw in a real .223 round now and again for "thrill factor!"

Curo April 3rd, 2012 20:48
