Waiting to get Av'ed

Ive been waiting for close to a month to get AV'ed. I know numerious people on airsoft canada who can AV me as i currently play with them in a 18+ airsoft group known as Airsoft New Brunswick. Is there anyway to speed this up?????

Amos December 20th, 2011 14:56

Contact an age verifier, meet with them.

Drake December 20th, 2011 14:59

Not sure if you mean you met a verifier and are waiting for your AV to be activated?

If so re-contact the person who verified you as your information was not submitted.

If you haven't met with a verifier, then you need to; that's the only way.

surebet December 20th, 2011 15:06

The only people in your region who can AV you are Kurgan, Cobrajr122, DonKorleone, Hawkeye_CJMC and trevorthetwigyalienman.

AV must be done in person, no long distance vouches unfortunately.

It's really, really worth the drive. You have no idea what's waiting for you in the classifieds.

Doctorpepper December 20th, 2011 15:10

im not gonna take a day off of work to spend 4 hours to drive and waste money to see someone for 5 minutes show min a card and leave its really not worth it

z0ng December 20th, 2011 15:20

Maybe wait for a game that's worth attending then where an age verifier will be present.

If there aren't any up coming games soon maybe use the trip to meet an AV'er to do other stuff too like visit friends/family.

See one on a weekend or on one of your normal days off so you don't lose wages for doing so.

surebet December 20th, 2011 15:20

Suit yourself.

Curo December 20th, 2011 15:22

In the end the system has been in place for along time. It works you cannot expect it to change to suit your whims.

Considering I usually drive 2 - 4 hours just to get to games...

Anyway, Its worth it, even though you may not see it. Theres hundreds of people that have gone through the process and have probably traveled further than you have. Its not a biggie. Besides, in most cases, being a verifier myself you get more than just verification, i've made quite a few friends through the process. Definitely worth it.

lurkingknight December 20th, 2011 15:43

if he's already AVed on ASNB, why can't one of the AVers on that board transfer the status here?

I agree

Drake December 20th, 2011 15:53

Because the AV system works on trust: we accept info submitted by Verifiers because they were given that position because we knew/trusted them. Which isn't to say they aren't trustworthy if we don't know them, but we just don't know them.

Bottom line is you aren't the first to request exceptions or workarounds and the answer has always been the same.

lurkingknight December 20th, 2011 16:04

So you're saying there's nobody from ASNB that is an AVer that is also an ASN AVer, and that the AV status is non transferable from ASNB to ASN.

If that's the rule, fine, that's the rule, but every answer including yours is not that statement directly and has been unclear.

Everyone seems to be answering him like he's trying to circumvent the entire system, rather than asking if his status that's been proven to be of age by another group of people already to be transferred/recognized by a non affiliated group.

I presume "ASN" was meant to be "ASC."

I don't know who ASNB verifiers are.

Some forums have verifiers that are also verifiers on ASC (Chef/Jackals for Ottawa Valley Airsoft, for example); they can and do submit information to both forums when they verify someone.

But anyone who isn't an ASC verifier... well, isn't an ASC verifier, regardless if they're verifiers elsewhere.

So no, an age verification on another forum isn't "transferable" to ASC. Two different entities.

lurkingknight December 20th, 2011 16:24

sorry, lol, getting my club acronums mixed up... asn is something completely different that I'm involved in.

So what you're saying is I can't prove my age by showing off my ASC AV tag on my mobile to that really dirty strip club on the Qc/On border?

Damnit...!

Echo that. Also keep in mind that we don't get paid for this. All ASC verifiers have there own lives (family/work/habs games on RDS muthafucka!) Some times it take some time just to arrange a meeting. But like everybody is telling you the light at the end of the tunnel is worth it.

You could always see if anyone will offer you a ride to a game where an AV'r would be attending. Just and idea. You might have to wait until spring, but its definitely worth the wait.

gravygunner December 21st, 2011 10:22

that is a good idea.....thanks medix..........so calling all ppl that are close to trail hit me up.......lol.....

Kokanee December 21st, 2011 10:35

@Doctorpepper Airsoft NB: I am passing through New Brunswick on my way to a military course in NS in early January. As an ASC AV'er I would be glad to facilitate you getting your AV status. I am planning on staying overnight in Fredericton on the 7th of Jan. PM me if you would like to meet up.

Most likely stopping in Edmundston for lunch on that day as well, if Fredericton is too far south.

cheers
