Toyota trucks have been used as weapon platforms in almost all african conflicts since the mid 80s to early 90s; it was the decisive element in the Chadian victory over Gaddafi's forces in the Toyota War(http://www.time.com/time/magazine/ar...921683,00.html).

wow, looks like some of the forces they are fighting are well enough equipped...

Kit August 25th, 2011 02:26

Wow the Libyans are crazy. And that FN 2000 is bad ass!

-=ArchAngel=- August 25th, 2011 03:01

They seem very well organized, equipped, and have a lot of know how.

Cifyra August 25th, 2011 04:11

The guy who got the F2000 must be feeling really lucky hehehe

Armyissue August 25th, 2011 11:25

The recoiless rifle in one shot still has the US info plate on it m40a2 dated 1977 Inspected 1978 notice that the rebel weapons all have english instructions and the guys are running around with FN like Canada used to use, and new rifles like the FN 2000. The Toyota Hilux thats not around in North America but very common in the Common Wealth.

Invasian August 25th, 2011 11:30

Rhino...

He didn't look very round there though...

That picture can't be Permal though... he's not wearing his 'The Bay' tag, and he never takes that thing off.

Gato August 25th, 2011 14:19

Team Speak agrees, that's definately Permal

A Libyan rebel fighter shows a weapon with a grenade launcher attachment which he said was taken from forces loyal to Libyan leader Muammar Qaddafi at Misrata's western front line, some 25 km (16 miles) from the city center, on June 7, 2011. (Reuters/Zohra Bensemra)
guess the forces who follow Qaddafi are allowed to purchase their own weapons.

White Fox August 25th, 2011 15:04

Nice pictures, I didnt know that Fabrique Nationale was selling weapons to Qaddafi forces ...

from Wiki
Quote:

Libya: Purchased 367 F2000 rifles along with other assorted lethal and non-lethal weapon systems from FN Herstal in 2008, and deliveries commenced in 2009.[17] In the 2011 Libyan Civil War, Libyan rebel forces captured a number of these weapons from forces loyal to the Gaddafi regime

Good to know for me, I bought a great shape '99 Toyota 4Runner last month! :)

Still love the guy sitting in the office chair shooting at a Libyan aircraft, totally hilarious, takes the word "Chairsofter" to the next level!!!

During the Rwandan civil war Belgian peacekeepers stopped a shipment of guns from coming in and lo and behold it was FN Herstal who supplied them.

Business is business.

mr_nuts31 August 25th, 2011 18:39

looking at this you got to admit, these guys can be pretty creative with a workshop full of tools. If I was in need of some metalwork, I would definitely ask these guys.

Nervikaire August 25th, 2011 20:46

We didn't see any in those pics but in video footage on TV, I saw a shitload of G36 taken from "loyal forces"... They sure had diversity in their weaponry.

Cactus-man August 25th, 2011 21:11

Yep I Agree, there was a shitload of G36's Taken from Gahdaffi's Private Place or somethin like that but heh, looks like they got something newer than their G3's from H&K ;)
