Shady Ebay dealers

Well after almost 8 yrs on Ebay I finally got shanked by a shady dealer. I found a set of used PCU on ebay for an awesome price. Well....it's true what they say if it looks to good to be true it probably is.

I received a Brand new set of Knock off PCU. Granted they are actually quite nicely made and seem to be well put together, they are not what I wanted and I paid roughly twice what these knock offs are worth.

To top it off the seller closed his Ebay account down this weekend and has yet to answer any of my emails ( I don't actually expect him to). I have filed a claim with Paypal and that should be ok since this was covered under the buyer protection Ebay offers. IF not I will ask my Credit Card company to do a charge back.

Lesson here..if it looks like a duck and smells like a duck, it's probably a fucking scam. LOL. Anyone want a set of brand new Knock off PCU in XL, just contact me :)

Good luck with getting it settled bud.

Can't be as bad as what a co-worker had done, he bought a classic car in great shape from a seller in the UK, and got seriously burned in the deal.............. to the point there was a actually a newspaper article about it not that I can find it now of course, but read it about 6odd years ago)!!! Think he lost about $12k in total.

5 years doing Ebay and I got burned right before Christmas. Went to go buy my lady a Jimmie Johnson winter Nascar Jacket and never got it. Good thing for Paypal buyer protection cause I was covered. Just file a claim and it should take care of itself. Person insisted that they shipped it and asked me to close the dispute. This right before paypal gave me my full reimbursement. Funny thing, I had a pair of Gortex Woodland pants shipped from Belfast, checked at customs and ordered after the jacket and it got to me before Christmas. Some people would stop at nothing at others expense.

Hang in there, it might take a couple of weeks but paypal will reimburse you. They just have to go through the process they have laid out.

To be honest.. I only buy from Ebay, if it's rare games... I to got shanked from buying a British MK6 helmet... the dealer had 99.7% feedback rate.. the dealer stated that it was shipped but after a month (I should of file a claim off paypal... I was stupid). The item never came.. dealer stopped replying to me.. and I lost 150$. The dealer kept in contact till I couldn't file a claim.. contacting ebay didn't help one bit.

Make you wish you can reach through the monitor, grab them by there scronny little neck and give them a throat punch. One thing to take note of, if you're going to file a dispute, always do it before 45 days from the day of sale. If not, paypal will not help you. Ebay could care less, and these losers are left to rip off other people.

T_A_N_K February 7th, 2011 23:15

Shitty deal, I've been burned as well, not on ebay(yet) but on ASC and other things. Im grateful that I only lost a hundred bucks as opposed to a few thousand. A lesson well learned.

Danke February 7th, 2011 23:15

Put the seller's info up here. Even if they are shut it's worth putting the word out.

Hades February 7th, 2011 23:22

Lets see, I lost a couple hundred off that chaseyue 416 scam on here

lost about $600 over ebay due to US homeland security but thats a different story

Me too. I'd love to meet him but he don't come round here no more.

Opening a PayPal case is the best way to do it; you're on the right track. It is very likely that you will get reimbursed, but the lame thing is that you're out on the money at this time.

We need an internationnal team of ass kickers. For a small fee, they go kick the fraudulant ass. Better than the usual justice in some cases.

That guy was a foreign national student attending York University who smuggled in guns. When CBSA seized his last shipment he bailed and left the country. I was lucky enough to pick mine up in person.

I believe user KND did something similar.

The A-Team, anyone?

I ordered a battery charger and a new battery from two different sellers on eBay from Hong Kong. I knew it would most likely take about a month, I wasn't expecting anything amazing for shipping rates. My battery made it to me in less than 3 weeks, but still no charger.
Two months past, and the seller insisted the charger would arrive. Luckily, he offered me a refund which I accepted. About a couple weeks later I finally got it. I know it's not really a scam story, but it just goes to show how shitty the shipping process can be.

BobbyDangerous February 18th, 2011 21:27

I ordered a Multicam Shemagh from a guy in the US and it's not arrived.. I read a few bad reviews from the guy but his positive feedback out weighs it.. I asked him why he doesn't have any tracking numbers and he claims because they go by the HONOR system and that tracking only starts at 19.99 on shipping.. Which i know for a fact is bullshit.. I want to report him to ebay but i don;t know what to do i feel ripped off. He says he will ship another one i said ship with a tracking number..

TokyoSeven February 18th, 2011 21:42

That was your fault for believing people over the internet. Unless you know the person face to face, I would recommend filling a claim after 35 days. Since you only have 45 days to do it, don't take the word of the seller because they know you have 45 days too. I don't give a rats ass what they say, if the item was shipped, I would have a tracking number within the 1st week. After 30 days, I'm filling the claim regardless what they say.

Paypal Credit Card

Eeyore February 18th, 2011 21:52

Well make a complain with ebay and call your credit card company and dispute the payment.

BobbyDangerous February 18th, 2011 22:03

Well he said he would re ship another one and if i don;t get it in 2 weeks i'm going to..

Eeyore February 18th, 2011 22:04

How long ago did you pay? There is a limit on how far back you can make a complaint. Get the ball rolling then let them know its ok, rather than hope a guy is legit and letting him get off.

BobbyDangerous February 18th, 2011 22:06

Paid like jan 29th or something like that. I know it doesn't seem that far back but i have had name tapes made that were ordered after that that have arrived before this item..

Eeyore February 18th, 2011 22:08

Well its your choice, If I were you I would ask for daily updates for a tracking number. But he might be telling the truth, many postal companies have made error and lost my packages.

Well yeah, I know it was my fault. The fact that he had almost perfect feedback and a reputable seller. You are right I admit but it was way back then, I didn't had any brains.

I do believe the feedback from others is a good indication of the seller but just to be on the safe side, only your feedback counts. I never believe anyone until the deal is done and we're both happy. It sucks that so many have lost money due to being gullible and believing the seller's every word. Hope we all learned something from others mistakes.

With USPS, tracking number is optionnal...lol, and even if you ahve it, its useless, becasue they dont update it.... I've had 4 items that were sent in the past few weeks, and the tracking never updated once (not even appear on the USPS website, not even on the CP website) and they all arrived safe and sound... ;)

Tiptoe February 24th, 2011 15:15

I got burned once on ebay, but I filed a dispute with Paypal and I got my money back no problem. Paypal seems pretty reliable with resolving ebay scams.

ex February 24th, 2011 15:21

Got my money back..the douche never even responded.

Raskas February 24th, 2011 16:12

In a combined 2 total Ebay purchases, I've received no items, and had my account stolen.

I've never gone there since.
