how long to be AVed?

Can anyone tell me how long it usually takes to get AVed? I met with an age verifier over 2 weeks ago but my profile has yet to be up dated. I check in the FAQ but to no avail.

Thanks for your help in advance.

Taxt September 6th, 2010 14:55

Took me about 3 weeks. Just be patient.

vondnik September 6th, 2010 15:00

2 to 100 weeks....

Slono September 6th, 2010 15:27

It took me 3 weeks to get AVed, but I've heard people waiting as long as 2-3 months for it, but not longer than that.

yyz September 6th, 2010 15:30

OK standing by, thanks

Neckroz September 6th, 2010 15:34

yeah the system is backlogged i beleive so just be patient, takes about 3 weeks

HKGhost September 6th, 2010 15:50

Holy crap. It took that long for some of you? Damn, it only took me like 2 days.

ericwilliam September 6th, 2010 16:02

Yeah I noticed people here who've gotten AV status who joined after I did... Been pretty patient and haven't really said anything because I don't want to get flamed.
Was AV'd on my 19th birthday, May 21st. Been waiting over 3 months now, haha.

HeadlessChicken September 6th, 2010 16:11

I believe I waited about 2 weeks, it didn't take long but the mods of ASC did apologize to me for the wait.

Please send your 200,000$ of HST (yes it costs more than the verification) to
HaWeScrewedYouAgain@thegovernment.gc.ca

Please set the password to "OkIllBendOverAgain"

Once we have received the fees, we will contact you sometime in the next decade regarding the processing (and associated administrative fees) of your AV Status.

PS: We will bill you for the eco fee as well.

As posted in another thread.

Oh jeez. Haha, I guess my wait could be worse.

Redzephyr September 6th, 2010 19:59

Yeah, consensus seems to be about three weeks, which is precisely what I was told to expect when I was AV'd. I think the last batch was done almost exactly that long ago (noted a few people celebrating their new status, but don't quote me on that) so theoretically it should go through soon enough.

It's all good. A little waitin' for the good stuff is always worthwhile.

bruce September 6th, 2010 20:22

If you do find yourself waiting for over a month since you gave your info to the age verifier, please pm him to check if your info was posted on the waiting list. Mistakes can happen and your info may have gotten lost.

Jackals September 6th, 2010 20:29

Last update on the AVs was August 23rd, so anyone who was AVd after that date is in a queue. Hold on tight and you will get it.

Were you verified by Karnage and your initals are WSC? If so, you might want to PM him to change your ASC user name from YYZ to yyz. That user name is on the waiting list which is just waiting for an admin to do the updates.

It's always good to send a pm to your age verifier after your meet to confirm your name and proper spelling and punctuation of your user name.

So I'll assume that over 3 months definately means that my info has gotten lost? haha. No big deal I hope, my AV'er resent my info about a week ago. Hope it goes through this time.

Ghostnote September 6th, 2010 21:05

I was verified in a few hours =).

That would be me. I will drop him a line

bruce September 6th, 2010 22:37

Thanks.

It might not make a difference for you because I don't think there is too many yyz but take me for example. I'm with a lower case "b" in bruce. There is also another bruce with a capital "B". It just makes it less confusing for the admin to look for.

BobbyDangerous September 7th, 2010 05:53

I swear everyday there is a new thread asking the same thing...

I would contact your AV rep. Usually it takes a couple of weeks at most. All AV requests from before a couple of weeks ago have already been actioned.

Yeah my AV'er resent all my info about a week ago. I hope it goes through this time. I guess my info was just lost or something. No biggy though, maybe this time it will work.

I fully agree. I'm sitting in the dark also. Saskatoon is not a small place by any means and I'm having a tough time getting AV'd or let alone even meeting anyone. I've tried all my local reps too. :(

You won't find any prob because they have been locked and deleted.. I got Av'd at Velocity Arms i was approved in like 2 days. But that was prob because the submission was around the time that the staff was doing the account changes..

Go to a game and get av'd or try and hit up VA or message someone.. If you already have been it just takes a few.. Isn't there a sticky on this topic anyways?

Jackals September 8th, 2010 22:40

New players leading new players, that's just like the blind leading the blind.

In my experience in AVing can take a matter of hours to up to 6 weeks.

At any rate this should be locked as the problem has been solved for most of the people in this thread as the AV backlog was pushed through today.

Redzephyr September 8th, 2010 22:52

Completely, or is it still in-progress? I'm still without the status update.

If it helps, I was AV'd by DarkAngel on the 16th.

I'd PM DarkAngel to make sure he got your information down correctly, thats what happened to me, a period more and no capital letters easy fix

Redzephyr September 8th, 2010 23:08

I did get a confirmation PM from him after the fact, but I s'pose it can't hurt to double-check.

where are you located? you profile says BC

DarkAngel is in Ontario..?

Please update your location if you moved.

Redzephyr September 8th, 2010 23:13

I met up with him while on vacation as I'd had no luck with local verifiers. My info is correct.

Drake September 8th, 2010 23:15

No luck with local verifiers? Sorry, I don't know BC that well... where's Duncan? Where are the nearest verifiers?

Redzephyr September 8th, 2010 23:19

Duncan's on the Island, between Victoria and Nanaimo (the two larger cities thereon). The only two that were listed for the area (which is to say, the Island) were CIA Rick, who was listed as inactive, and jameskersten, who told me he'd give me a shout next time he ended up in Duncan though I did offer to drive down to meet him.

I was in Scarborough anyway, so I figured I'd try and get the verification done while I had access to a larger verifier pool. Sure enough, DA was kind enough to take some time and meet me.

pow VERIFIED the ASC gods are mighty tonight

Drake September 8th, 2010 23:26

Ok... actually remember taking the ferry to Victoria when I was a kid, that was quite a long trip. Maybe need to look into a 2nd active verifier on the island.

Anyway, in the meantime I found your AV info. You're good to go. See? That was painless!

Redzephyr September 8th, 2010 23:28

Hallelujah, I have a tag!

Thanks kindly Drake, much appreciated. I'd offer up a manly hug of gratitude, but I'm not sure I can multitask between that and all the goodies I can now see. :D
