Scom gear m82a1

Once i get age verified is there any canadian companys that can get this sniper?

Strelok August 4th, 2010 15:11

Yup, provided the importers are still about then. The thing is heavy and clutzy, I'd rather go with a platform that is readily upgradable than some big hulking thing like that.

Tex August 4th, 2010 15:11

slavery is illegal so you won't find anyone selling a sniper around here.

but once AV'd there is nearly nothing airsoft that you can not get all it takes is time and money and most of them time you need lots of both.

HeadlessChicken August 4th, 2010 15:19

You'll have to contact a retailer upon being verified or post a WTB (Willing to Buy) thread.

kullwarrior August 4th, 2010 22:13

Be expected to pay lots
As shipping of such large and heavy item three times wont be cheap.
HK -> Importer
Importer -> Retailer
Retailer -> You

Aha!
.
.
.
Op probably doesn't get that

sharpshooter17 August 5th, 2010 13:18

lol well im kinda expecting to pay a pretty penny for it if i can even get one in

TaroBear August 5th, 2010 13:29

Yeah, but even newcomers who expect big prices usually aren't prepared for exactly how much. Go onto a HK retailer website, multiply that by three, and then add some money on for shipping and/or fees for Payment. And there you have it.

m102404 August 5th, 2010 13:33

Seriously reconsider getting it...it's retardedly big, extremely heavy and generally impractical.

Upsides are it's very simple to work on and very rugged.

But it's stupid big/heavy

There's at least two inherent issues out of the box with it (at least with the one I saw) that needs to be corrected. Neither are hard to do but still....

DanoftheDead August 5th, 2010 13:36

you know what? If you really want it go for it! Just cause its big clunky and combersome shouldn't stop you. I'm a fan of getting what you want to shoot. Who cares what others personal opinions are? If you like it, want it and can afford it then get it.

m102404 August 5th, 2010 13:40

Just for reference to put the size in perspective....(and no one could shoulder it for more than a couple of seconds....I could barely hold just the barrel out with my arm extended for very long before I got the shakes)...I think the top of the workbench is ~36" off the floor.

The ugly f*cker in the pic isn't me...but he brings doughnuts every time he visits.

I'm Da man, this thing is almost as tall as me and twice as heavy, only dumb asses will try to shoulder this phuckers

R.I.T.Z August 5th, 2010 13:41

usual price is 1500$ US X 3 = 4500$ + shipping (its big and clunky and heavy) so lets say 200$
your looking at what? 5000$ roughly give or take

Love August 5th, 2010 13:56

I once saw a paintball one of these for like $1000. I laughed because some 14 year old kid was returning it. Why? Because it fired too slow. ORLY?!

It'd probably be cheaper for you to gain friends with a metal worker. Then they could machine you the parts, and then you just buy a good sniper gearbox.

sharpshooter17 August 5th, 2010 13:56

price in the usa is about 850 but its still going to cost a crap load no matter what

you're looking at closer to 2-3 grand at most.... I doubt it will be more.

Assault Pioneer August 5th, 2010 14:02

saw one for sale here for $2200

that being said it's just a big aeg really, I'd rather get the cheytac m200 for $3050 and have a real big gun that's actually an AS sniper rifle

there's also a DSR-1 for sale for $1000. an actual sniper rifle that look's like a .50cal and it's super badass, AFAIK only two of them in canada

TaroBear August 5th, 2010 14:07

Oh. Um, yeah, that DSR-1. I wonder who was selling it. XD

Dart August 5th, 2010 15:35

those large cal rifles should shoot 8mm or like a special 12mm BB... its disappointing seeing that huge gun fire the same round my mac11 does lol.

can your mac11 accuratly deliver a .30 at 430fps further than rifle range?

these rifle's can be used as lethal pest control or grouse/prairie chickin hunting, your mac11 can't do that

aZn_triXta07 August 5th, 2010 15:53

Socom Gear M82 is pretty much impossible to get now, it's a limited edition.

Only version available now is the short one.

M82 > M200 the build quality is MUCH better, it uses a Version 2 Gearbox very easy to upgrade.

$850USD in Asia yeah you're looking at the 2K mark for it here, can you imagine the cost of shipping?

You can get a real .50cal for about that price in the US =/

if I got close I could lol... like muzzle to noggin. Just saying different ammunition types would be cool, like sizes.

Could you imagine a 12mm .4 flying at you and smacking you in the chest haha.

yes in the EAR classified's, priced for local discount ;) it's the same one that was on here and it's now sold though

so if a DSR-1 can go for $950 used, estimat a barrett at around 2000 to 2500

yuhaoyang August 6th, 2010 02:03

I want your k98.

Too bad walmart pays me insufficiently.

There are no good M82/107s in airsoft really.... let's put it that way.
Glorified M16s: socom gear, hurricane conversion kit
poor guns: smokey's m82
am I missing any?

Performance wise both Model of M82 have its pros and cons

Smokey or Garage gun works M82 is a pain in the ass but for a springer it is awesome for it's time, 15 years ago if you want a M82 either you go for teh Smokeys or a pricier custom kit from killer studio which retail about $1800 each from Guns and Guys in HK as for teh smokeys at $1000 at the time it's a better bargain eventhough it's a springer (I used to own one) mind you that that gun is no longer in production and I was 17 when I own it. it is more of a collector Item now than a skirmish gun, The new owner that bought it did field it with extremely great success, with his victim not knowing where that bb comes from and they were also quite surprised at the range.

As for the socom gear it need minor tweaks (barrel spacers and a longer inner barrel) but overall aside from the sheer weight and other minor imperfections they are great AEG to play with. Most of these AEG GBB/springer are mostly for guys who wants something unique in their arsenal Counting the M82 I have 6 long guns that are more than capable to reach out and touch someone down range, it all just boils down to personal preference.

lol I don't think you would have got it anyways, I posted the ad, proof-read it and went to advanced editing to fix a few spelling errors, when the page refreshed I had PM's about wanting to buy it immediatly no haggling lol, I shoulda tacked on an extra $200 If I knew people were that obsessed with the gun lol.

A possible cheaper alternative .50cal could be the M99 snowolf? not an m82 style gun obviously but a Barrett .50 none the less.

http://shop.ehobbyasia.com/sniper-ri...fle-sw-01.html

aren't those priced at around the same as those cheap dragunov's?

ARES is also coming out with their own M82 which I suspect to be about $3k

there are planty of L96's for sale here, wether their ARES is up for you to search for once you get your AV.

AFAIK there was only one M200 was ever sold in canada, (a week before I had the money to buy it too damn!) and it cost $3050 CAD

big guns = big money

ILLusion August 6th, 2010 15:23

There were at least six M200's sold in Canada that I know of off hand, and wouldn't be surprised if there were a couple more.

sharpshooter17 August 6th, 2010 16:31

can retailers even get the l96 or m200? or are those ones still banned?

sharpshooter17 August 6th, 2010 16:53

yes they are very hard to find even in hk or us

Styrak August 6th, 2010 20:26

Are you talking to yourself?
What do you mean by "banned"?

there was a few other posts from another member he was talking to, either the poster removed them or someone else did, it was a conversation there.

he still hasn't grasped the "we can get anything regardless of what the canadian internet store's can and cannot get"

sharpshooter,

it doesn't matter what's banned or not, once you have AV status EVERY airsoft gun you could ever want, you'll be able to get, regardless

sharpshooter17 August 7th, 2010 14:50

ok i was a little bit confused but its nice to know i can get anything if i have the money to buy it.
