Any Suggestions?

Hello everyone,
i just bought myself a new bass guitar so i wont have any spending money for a while but i was wondering if anyone could help me out for the future. I really like the design of the steyr AUG but there arent any rails to mount anything :/ are there any similar guns or aftermarket parts that might help me out? im looking for something in the $300-$400 price range but all suggestions are welcome.
TIA
P.S. i'm not gunna waste my money on a TM because by the time i've upgraded it to a decent gun i'm not gunna have any TM parts left in it.

Well for starters it helps if you fill in your info so we can see where you are from etc. Second if you are 18+ get av'ed and look at the classifieds, alot of deals in those classifieds. If you are not 18 sorry bud but we will not help you find a gun. There are many option for the Aug and some do have attachment points for accessories.

If you like the bullpup style SMG's check out the FAMAS.. I prefer it over the AUG, but that's just me (and possibly because it's in metal gear solid games :P)

im turning 16 in a month but one of the keywords in my question was "future". I just want to get an idea of what i should save and whats available.

There are almost every kind of gun available in airsoft on the classifieds on this site. If its not there it would be eventually, pricing depends on quality. The good news is you have 2 solid years to save up.

An AUG alone will cost you about $400-450, plus battery ($35+), mags (AUG mags are expensive), and the rail kits for the AUG aren't cheap. So probably around $600 or more.

A brand new AUG will probably cost between 5 and 6 hundred for nothing else (for a TM or CA).

This was surprisingly unhelpful but thanks for the input anyway.
Just so you all know I'm not going to be buying the gun until I'm 18, I just wanted some help figuring out what i would like and what would work best.

How was it unhelpful? We answered your question.

What you want you can't get for cheap. It simply doesn't exist. Sorry it's not the answer you want to hear.

Get out to a game (when your ready) and speak with people and if your really nice and polite perhaps they will even allow you to handle theirs. Thus giving you real life interaction with the models in question allowing you to cement your opinions.

Cheers.

Welcome to the world of bass. A fine instrument. I myself have played bass for 33 years. truly something you can enjoy your whole life.

You have some time before you can enjoy airsoft. I suggest you save your money, and spend the time practicing playing the bass.

Start by learning to read music... not tabs. This will serve you well in the future.
Read 8 - 12 bars every day. If you have any questions about bass, feel free to PM me, and I will get you on the right track.

Actually, my question was if there were any aftermarket parts or similar guns, to which the only answer has been a Famas. Also, the budget's not really an issue, that was just a rough estimation, by the time I'm 18 my parents wont have a say in how much i spend on a gun so I'll be able to spend a decent amount. (My parents are REALLY cheap when it comes to stuff i want to buy with my money.)

emokid94 June 8th, 2010 18:53

@Schlyder Thanks for the offer but I've been playing bass in my music class at school for almost 6 months now and I'm taking it again next year, so I know how to read music and play, etc.
like i said thanks for the offer but the only thing i need at this point is to get a couple of my frets filed and a half decent amp. (academy amps are kinda suckish)

Is that a 6 string bass in your pic? :O I've only heard of 4 (mine) and 5 string Bass's

emokid94 June 8th, 2010 18:59

Thanks Rugger_can but idk if my dad would like driving me out somewhere just to look at a few "toy" guns (his words, not mine) and i live out in the boonies so idk if there are any games around here

ThunderCactus June 8th, 2010 21:31

The point of TM guns is to keep them stock, just throw in a hop rubber and maybe a tightbore at most. But it's a real budget gun. You sell it when you want a better gun with a metal body (because TM's, unlike chinese guns, actually retain a LOT of their value :) )

Styrak June 8th, 2010 21:34

With an AUG, it's already going to have a metal body.

AUGs don't have metal bodies.

seems like a fretless 6 string yeah. Got a nice 6'er myself too. Nice to play but not everybody got the hands to play it well. Even myself my hands are wider than long so its difficult but rewarding.
