Base was a WE M4 GBBR.
Using most block 2 platform, still waiting m3x.

What is the item behind the vert grip?

I have no idea. It seems to be blocking way for holding the vertical grip.
I'm guessing some electronic GPS thing? LOL Nooooo ideaaa.

Doesn't feel right for some reason...

My suggestions:

- get rid of the rail covers
- swap the tan pistol grip for the original black and paint the black with krylon tan camo paint (the natural wear will look awesome)
- paint atleast your lower krylon tan camo (again, the natural wear will look awesome)
- swap the qd td for the non-qd td grip
- use a normal color usgi mag

The 553 and M6x should make it look great!

I searched the whole website on the MK18 Mod 1.
I've researched on this build for months non stop.
I know how they are like, some SOF users chose to have theirs painted, some don't. Some use SOPMOD, some uses original M4 stock.
I used krylon tan. It looks greyish OD. Threw that out.
I'm not a fan of camo. I'd rather have the black wear/use to silver look.

This is just to start off. After I get those 2 items I need, I will start on FDE TD Pistol Grip and if I got more money, I'll buy PMAGs and mod.

That thing is a wireless PTT that attaches to the rail.

Also get rid of the KAC panels and use Tango Down panels. Its pointless using old panels on Block II stuff when the new stuff comes with Tango Down Skeleton/ full cover panels.

Personally the two things that bug me the most are the tan mag and the tan pistol grip... looks weird.

Okay thanks guys for the input. The mag is tan, the grip is FDE.
Too much mixed colours. Rail panel is actually painted dark taupe, FDE is mixed dark taupe and OD.

Well then the grip's FDE is pretty far from the stock and the PEQ.

That's why I enjoy painting things tan from black if it's the look I'm going for. I can never find parts with the exact same colours. This is the reason why my rifles are all black.

But it's looking great Hitman. I'm quite impressed.

Even RS parts FDE colours in different companys are shades off from eachother.

And that's why I usually run all black. If I want camo I'll use a rifle wrap.

It just disappoints me that there is no actual colour that all companies can agree on, but I guess it's a way to make the user buy only their products eh?

Some train with clean rifles too. Reason I left it clean too is for comp use and to swap uppers/stocks/rails. I like it clean, but I will go through use from games coming up.
MOD1 is the new RISII as the first post... So you are building the same platform. lol

This is my build so far! I have gotten Tango Down rail covers since then, and my 10.5' barrel and QD KAC silencer is one the way.

With the long barrel, it's more a SOPMOD, but whatever :P

Also, that would be a Mod0 (KAC RIS) and not Mod1 (DD RAS).

And AFAIK mount should be a Wilcox.

Oh boy...after I posted that I knew someone was going to bring that up! Yea, I posted that I'm building an MK18 variant as well, not "I'm building a mod1" ;) I fully realize the differences! And yea, like I said my new outer barrel and QD KAC silencer is on the way. The thing with the mount is, at this time I can justify spending $40 just for a new mount, but it will come down the road. The last few pieces are coming together, now I just need to figure out how to get the translation/command sheet on the stock to fit! I know a few people posted them on here, but can't get my printer to print it the right size.

Go to print preview and go to options, select fit to 1 page or scale it down from there. Enjoy.

I have a question, why the 2 prong and not the QD for TD verticle grip?

I used to have the Two prong TD Grip and I found that it fell off quite easily. Maybe it was just a cheap POS. I prefer the QD.

I'm just not sure why the 2 prong one that's being used and not QD, isn't QD better and more expensive? Pretty confused. lol

On the real TD grip, you have to use a small tool to take off the grip, as it's VERY secure.

Don't ever make the mistake of judging real steel by the airsoft clone standards. :|

No, it was black from VelocityArms. I painted it. VA has the right reticle. EBairsoft has the wrong one. lol

Yeah I noticed that on their product page, which made me want to get one. I figured it was painted because the tan version from ehobby (ebaybanned? I mix them up) looks WAY too bronze. The VA one looks really good.

The real one is bronze. The colours from EBairsoft which discontinued, was way off. And they are all the same, just different colours. The new one 1x-4x model from EBairsoft coming soon sometime in summertime, the colour is a bit closer, but still not as bronze.

So you're happy with the VA SpecterDR? How's the illumination and optics quality?

Sorry if I'm threadjacking.

The quality is perfect, well build, zeroing is just easy. Illumination, at night pitch black, use lowest dot as possible. Turning it too bright leads to the whole lens glowing green or red. It's crisp and clear. Worth the money than an ACOG.

Threw some colour on it. Spray bottle mixed with tan washable paint and water and magic happened. Still waiting on getting a real m3x long gun with TD grip.. fack.

It was really just an ACOG sight mount, shaved the bottom, glued it on. Fuck spending 70$. What if the threading is all isn't right and strip inside? The screw to hold the Irons on the Elcan even broke. lol...

Yeah, I'm waiting till it comes out in July. The sights are DBOYS steel, and I painted them. That RS double tape switch alone costs 750$..

Damn you Hitman, I was going for a Block 1/2 transition setup (and eventually a Block 2 upper) but... fuck I hate you, now I gotta dig more money for a block 2 right away.

Well, that and because the latest MARSOC pics I saw had full Block II guns and not just accessories anymore (SpecterDR/553, Su233, PEQ-15/16, etc...)

Very nice indeed! Nice work Shirley! I bought an M3X and was kinda disappointed at the plasticky feel of the houseing, not to mention mine wouldn't turn off. From reading these posts...seems that the Velocity Airsoft Elcan Spectre is the one to get? Dont know if I can quite justify shelling out $1,200+ for the real steel version right now.
