Hey guys, just got a gun from VelocityArms, and I was wondering if the batteries come charged already? I've been charging it for maybe 10-15 minutes and it's already warm in temperature. The charger puts out 600MA and the battery is 1500 MaH, I looked into it and I should charge for about 2.5 hours, right? The battery is already getting some heat...Is this normal, or am I just overreacting? A quick reply would be great as I don't want to kill the battery on the first day! :

most batteries come with a little charge not much though.

Battery: Shuangbao 1500 MAH
Charger : has no name, but it's an AC/DC Adaptor
- Input: AC110V ~ 50/60Hz
- Output: 9V = 600mA

There is also a little wire that seems like it would be used to connect the battery wire and the charger wires together...I'm not sure if this is necessary to use because it doesn't fit on, and the battery and charger fit together fine without this. Thanks:smile:

Keep it in a cool place out of direct sunlight. You should have tested it first just to ensure, but no worry do your self a favor and check out a good charger for yourself. In the mean time touch it every ten minutes or so and see if it is hot to the touch. We are talking hot not 'wash your hands in the sink' warmish here.

Warm is ok...hot (i.e. "Fuck that's hot") is not.

Buy a good smart charger. Might sound like a lot of money, but it'll pay for itself quick in peace of mind that you're not killing your batteries (a cheapo wall charger can kill you nice new battery) and they're actually charged for when you head to a game.

I got a few buddies from work who got a nice large 40+ acres of land and we're gonna be playing there for awhile.

And to the others, by shared account I meant the user on this computer is shared. My younger brother (who is 16) is into paintball and such, and he probably seen this open under the history tab and started posting some questions...I think I've only posted maybe for 4 or 5 times on here...If that...You can see by my amount of posts, it doesn't match up. I'll have a chat with him later when he gets home from school, and I apologize for any confusion guys.

I have an inclination to slightly believe this guy. If you look at some of the posting styles and sentence structure of the posts they're not too consistent with how he's typing now.

Still, shared accounts as well as multiple accounts are a no no. Get your brother to make his own.

Also if/when you do get AV'ed make sure your younger brother does not have access to the account. It's a BIG no no and can get your AV status revoked (temporarily until you fix it or possibly permanently).

Personally I think he's full of it. I would ask him to show up at the LZ on Noob Day so he can be age verified.

Well, he somehow managed to acquire an airsoft gun underage in Ontario, which is illegal, unless his parents bought it for him. Not a good start and he won't get any support from me.

And besides, every underage noob that comes on here looking for a gun ALWAYS has 40 acres of backwoods lots to play on. That's just standard.

I highly suggest you take the time to come out the NCR noob day at the LZ Next Month. IF you want anyone to believe anything you say from here on in. This is in your best interest. It is also the only way you will be allowed anywhere near a local Airsoft field. Follow this link.

The crap will fly until you get AV'd and thats the simple way of dealing with it. If your a man you'll flex your muscle (brain) and learn em to understand you! Course if your in Deathbridge Hellberta you must be patient and wait till you can stumble apon nacho-pudding, now theres a treasure worth seeking! Well like it or not, because of those former posts, until you have the "Age Verified" tag under your name, you'll be considered to beunderage and having broken the rules of this forum, the community, as well as the law to procure an airsoft gun. Whether or not you chat with your brother (giving you the benefit of the doubt and you are telling the truth) is irrelevant. If you are who you are, then he blew it for you until you get age-verified.

One thing you'll notice is that ASC doesn't take kindly to those who violate the rules and most guys have a good memory. And starting another account won't help either. So as of now, until you get verified, you can pretty much considered yourself screwed.

I do understand where you guys are coming from and if getting age verified is really the only way to be accepted into this community then I will do my best to make it out there.

Don't even worry about being a noob. It is a noob event for a reason. I too am a noob. The 18th will be my first game and I can tell you I AM SO PUMPED.

It's nothing personal dude, but once someone declares themselves underage (or as you say, your brother did), then you're pretty much screwed unless you can prove otherwise. We do accept underage members what abide by the rules (there are many, and they do).

But this situation reeks of an underage kid having circumvented the AV policy as well as broken the law. Airsoft is not on very safe legal grounds in Canada, and the community makes every effort to try to maintain the positive we currently have of responsible, law-abiding ADULT airsoft players. So I hope you understand our position on this.

And here's to hoping that you do make it to the noob day. It's the perfect way to get initiated into the sport as well as getting age verified.

Serioulsy its not hard to get AV'd there are plenty of varifiers out there. It will settle this once and for all. Trust me, It took me less than a week to have AV status once I met a Verifier (thanks Z). I'm not saying you aren't 18+, but you need to understand that this is a common thing here, I've been on her only a short time and I've already seen so many kids try this same thing singing the same song and doing the same dance. Understand that this community has to deal with this crap all the time and has become a little sick of it. Just goto the noob day, meet some people and get AV'd you'll be glad you did.

Well, I work landscaping and construction, and getting these two days off was killer that's for sure :p. I work 6 days a week normally, weather permitting, and if I can get the time off work I'll definitely be there!

OP: That is you have broken a PROVINCIAL BY-LAW if you are a minor. Not a Federal one. If you're 18+ then it's all good however.

In Ontario the law says 18+, other provinces have "policies" for selling to 18+ but they are not law (policy =/= law). As well there are and have been people who are under 18 and when they turned 18 they were not welcome at the fields because of shit like uttering threats or stuff like that (not the type of player we want to have).

You're possibly right although the join date of the account was in 07 so there is a possibility of forgetting about the account or something until recently (co-incidentally when his brother decided to start posting) but I give him the benefit of the doubt because he would have had to join at 13 if he really was 16 now (not something that's highly improbable, hell I had this account when I was like 14/15).

I also only perused through the posts and it seems there is a slight variation in the sentence structure. (I'm not a linguist at all, I just notice some small things that may mean the poster is a different person).

EDIT: Soldier101: Just in case you are a minor and trying to skirt ASC policy (not Canadian policy or even law just the policy we have here on ASC), if you get someone who's 18+ as a sub or standin and it's found out you will lose ALL trust and will likely be unwelcome in the community.

I am well aware of the provincial laws, and I am not breaking them. I'm 19 right now, so yes, I'll admit I was underage when I first made this account, however I don't think I ever posted until most recently. I never planned on having someone stand in for me, that would be a waste of time on that persons part...For what? To be accepted onto a forum? What if I want to go play with you guys sometime, then you'd know I was a completely different person! I love airsoft, that's it, that's all.

By the way, I think I found out why my battery was so hot...I was being an idiot and put it on the carpet...It was actually like "ow!" Hot...Now it's just warm and perfectly fine. Thanks guys! :D

Well, yeah, everyone's on edge and would love to preserve airsoft. He's basically stating the worst case scenario. Go out and have some fun with the guys! :D

Don't worry I'm 19 as well and I was actively posting while I was underage so no worries about that just I was warning about using a standin. Some members have had their older brother or parent try to get AV'ed for them and their standing in the community has not been good because of it.

Anyways, this forum is one of the larger communities in Canada and a great resource for knowledge and such.

PS: I'm not trying to be hard on you or anything and if it seems as if there is animosity in my posts I don't mean it just that I'm somewhat of a "protectionist" in regards to airsofting in Canada due to the nature of the law in Canada and the society/culture we live in as well as the power of public policy makers/"soccer mom" lobbyists (they wield a lot of power) if something bad happens.

Also ASC is not like how we are on the field. TBH Sometimes I can be a bit of an asshole because I can hide behind my monitor but IRL it's face to face so theres an onus to not be a jerk. (Hey, at least I admit it).

NOOB QUESTION GUYS:

Why won't my gun shoot? I've charged the battery, loaded the mag (yes I cranked the bottom), turned safety off, plugged in the battery...what am I missing!?! Nothing happens...It's as if there is no battery in there at all...Knowing me it's an obvious mistake...

Can someone please shed some light on my issue!? I wanna shoot it! :D

What size (voltage) battery do you have? If you're pushing 9v on an 8.4v pack it'll overheat it.



Sharing accounts is prohibited and grounds for banning; it's therefor irrelevant who made the bullshit posts cuz it's your account, so it's on your hands.

If I got a dollar for every underaged kid who came on claiming the dumb posts were "his little brother's" I could probably buy a new car.

If you really are 18+ I strongly suggest you change your password so your "little brother" no longer has access to the account, and get Age Verified like your ass not getting banned depends on it. I don't really care how inconvenient that is for you; if you don't have time to get AV'd you most likely don't have time to be on here either, so that just works itself out by itself from where I'm standing.

Either way I strongly urge you to get yourself squared away, post haste.
