Other players...start playing then worry about the specifics of your kit.

scubasteve March 31st, 2010 00:07

Looking good. Only thing I can think of is a GP68 and headset.

Amos March 31st, 2010 00:09

Lol ya I got that. It's only by playing that you can truly figure out what is needed/practical/missing from your kit. If what you have does the job, and you have no complaints about it when you're playing, then you don't need anything else.

True, I was just asking from a "What do I need to look Tacticool" perspective. Haha.

How about a suppressor instead of a flash hider? Also you look to clean. Especially the boots.

"shka-shka".....reloading...lol

Is it possible to make a SOPMOD SCAR? Is it the same as a SOPMD M4? And yes, the gemtech sounds amazing.

esky March 31st, 2010 07:40

Blouse your trousers, it'll look better.

Rugger_can March 31st, 2010 08:33

Get out and play. whenever you say I wish I had this on me right now. Thats what you need. This is airsoft not the real world. You can learn by trail and error and still have alot of fun.

Unless your doing it too runway yourself, then I cannot help you.

BobbyDangerous March 31st, 2010 08:57

Its your pants in your boots that blousing refers to.

But yes tuck in the shirt as well.

No, it means to tie off the base of the pant legs to a point just a fraction below the top of your boot, Thus giving you better footing and keeping your pants clean and free of debris.

Most good BDU pants have built in little strings, or you can buy boot blousers (its a little bit of elastic paracord with hooks) at most army surplus stores.

See this man is thinking! Everyone get's an iPhone on their primary and then we all link up the GPS Apps so we know exactly where our team members are. Then when someone dies, just turn off the app.

lol imagine using that set up and all of a sudden all the little dots showing your teams positions drop off the map at once. Times like that, you'd piss yourself in fear lol or go all rambo

Well the only reason I tuck in my boots is to keep things from falling into my boots, pebbles and dirt in the area between your boot an leg is very uncomfortable. And I know wha peaple will say..."TIE YOUR BOOTS TIGHTER" thats why I got new boots :D I may try just letting the pants down over the boot, I didnt do this initialy because the pants legs at the base were pretty large in diameter compared to the boot, so it looked really awkward.

The reason why people blouse over tuck is that after long periods of time the pants kinda chafe when they are tucked.

Do whatever is comfortable for you. I was just explaining what he ment.

Here's a picture of bloused pants.

Well any other suggestions? Thanks for the input by the way.

FOX_111 March 31st, 2010 16:39

Your US flag should be reversed, or if you have only one, put that one of the other arm. The stars need to be facing forward.

Get a minimum of 5 lowcaps, ideally close to 10. Hicaps are stupid.

Having a backpack would be a nice loadout addition and be practical.
I did not notice if you have a working radio and headset, if not, get a GMRS compatible radio and a good headset.

Donster March 31st, 2010 16:46

i may be blind, but i dont see a secondary?

oOMuDOo March 31st, 2010 16:50

If you are kitting just for kit & to play look good. Every little comment writen up so far seems cool to me.

One thing if your are going to a more sim look... Change your goggles for a real pair of goggles an operator would use... ESS , bollé , etc

Overall looking good.

How are Flakjaks? I heard that regardless of there anti-fog tech the still do. Also, ESS are probably what im going to get, or maybe just shooting glasses.

Loathing March 31st, 2010 17:16

Why would you tuck in your combat shirt? It's not meant to be tucked in, last I checked... =P

I don't mind the FlakJak goggles, but they're a bit weird to wear with the CF Issue helm. Haven't gotten to try them with any other type of helmet, real or repro.

Because im an American NOOB, does CF stand for Canadian Forces?

Loathing March 31st, 2010 17:34

Ah, yes CF is for the Canadian Forces. Actually to think of it, comparing the goggles with a real Kevlar helm is kind of dumb, since I wouldn't play with the real thing anyways - who want's that weight on their head when you could use a replica one.

Just tried it out a couple minutes ago anyways though - it's a decent fit all around with the helm, feels a bit odd around the bridge of my nose though but then, it could just be my face. =P

Wait, your dad? How old are you? You look pretty young in your picture. I know in the US they let kids play. But I'm still curious.

Do you think the goggles would be comfortable with a MICH 2000, such as mine? I want to just wear shooting glasses and a balaclava, but I cant seem to get my hands on a tan/coyote brown one :(

Loathing March 31st, 2010 21:20

Honestly I've never worn any helm besides the issued one I have - can't imagine it would be too different but it would be better if someone with actual experience using one could comment.

Personally I don't see myself wearing a helmet while playing, I stick to wearing a bush hat with either ballistic glasses or goggles. For now I've managed to avoid getting shot in the face (well, minus once) but I'm going to look into getting myself either a half face mask or a shemagh.

Depending on where you play, I'd think a balaclava would be too hot unless it's a cool day outside. If you want one, just look up sites online that sell tactical gear - since you're in the States maybe check out Opsgear? Not sure of any other ones really since I look for everything in Canada. Would think that most Army Surplus stores would carry it too.

Edit: Oh, and what the heck is on you're right leg? Looks like a holster to me I think?

Contrary to what you Canadians think (lol), Its not that easy (in Maryland atleast) to find surplus stores. All the Sunny Surplus's closed up and now I
have to order everything from websites! And a thin Balaclava would be to hot?

And yeah....the monstrosity on my leg is a WW2 pouch, a psp pouch, some nylon strips, a buckle from a backback, and a shit ton of gaffing tape. :D

I would recommend getting lowcaps, there aren't that big of a difference for capacity(30 rounds??), and for me,my adrenaline pumps some more and the exhilaration is awesome having to switch mags in the heat of battle, but I guess it's not for everyone.
