CQBR yes, a bit (so 10.5), but mainly SOPMOD (14.5) which is standard issue.
As far as I know the Mk18 Mod0 and Mod1 are specific to NSW. |

I personally prefer the ERB because
1) you can keep it at the back and move it at the front/remove it easily to have access to the contents 2) in CQB, you can keep it at the front to protect your nuts if it's shooting a lot Pretty good reasons if you ask me! |
Yup ERB is more Convenient IMO. Serves the same purpose but its movable and protects to nuts in CQB :P
|
Wait, I thought an IFAK and ERB are generally worn? Or does an ERB get used as an IFAK? Now I'm all confused...
As to helmets, the bare minimum is an OD MICH 2000 with a black Norotos mount, correct? |
Quote:
For the helmets, they are usually painted by the Operator. Force recon still use the Helmet cover if they wish. |
Yes, as far as I know the IFAK is the individual kit (for yourself) and the ERB (or other med pouch) is for teammates.
MICH (always the 2000) are either tan or OD, both have been seen. Depending on the year, the FSBEII helmet cover (only that one, with the Norotos hole, IFF velcro and wires flap) is used. I'm not sure on that point (maybe Vince, Brakoo or Jesus can correct me :D ) but Force Recon operators use either the original color (tan or OD) of their MICH or the FSBEII cover, while MARSOC guys can also paint their lids. For the Norotos, the black one (old-ish model) is has been used since its introduction while for more recent years (2010 and up), the new tan Norotos are also good to go. |
