Larry does not own laser trek, but he does run it along with the other pb/laser tag location in the N.E.

He and his wife Sylvia have run the two locations for a long time. Good luck if any of you try to talk to the owner Harry at capture the flag outdoor in Cochrane. If you call the booking line for ctf in cochrane, you can probably get a hold of him, if he still does the bookings like he did many years ago when I worked at Trek, but I doubt it.

OMGoodness!! That guy is a complete asshole. He sells all black airsoft guns at ridiculous prices that even people at this forum would laugh at. And he misleads people regarding airsoft. I was just there today to play and i noticed some airsoft sniper rifle guns on the wall. So i go up have a look. I asked about some prices and they were ridiculous. He was selling a L96 (stock) for $600!! Thats $300 more than its actual value here in Canada. The i asked about a Tec9 and he gave me a price that was $650 more than its actual value in Canada!! Absolutely ridiculous. Then i asked about a Marushin Uzi and he said it was $900. I just couldnt believe my ears.
Then a guy comes up and starts asking for info about airsoft cuz hes new. The guy feeds him bullshit that its a dying sport and people are getting arrested and cops are going around to peoples houses and confiscating guns etc. I walked upto the guy and said goto airsoft canada, talk to gish and get age verified. The store owner interjects and says "Chances of getting verified on Airsoft Canada now, very low. Chances of getting verified in 2010, Zero". I couldnt believe it!!! What an asshole!! Like he doesnt want people to join the airsoft community. The poor guy was shocked when i told him about what was really going on.
That reminded me of the first time when i went there when i was a newbie. The guy who was working there there fed me bullshit about airsoft but luckily i joined this website as a last resort cuz i randomly found it and lo behold!! I was surprised by how much alive the sport was and how much guns were in circulation and how friendly the community was!!
Anyone who dealt with these guys, tell me your experiences (especially if you were new to the sport) with Laser Trek. Seems like these guys have a twisted agenda of their own.

Word of advice, Dont deal with them. They dont deserve it.

Sorry for the rant but this had to be said. I just couldnt be quiet and let them do this to other people.

Wow, that is pretty crazy. I can't beleive he would say that airsoft is a dying sport; if anything, it is picking up IMO, especially with the MUCH more reasonable prices (well unless you buy from him that is) on the guns, compared to awhile back.

One thing I can't understand though: why on earth would this guy talk like that about airsoft if he is sitting there and SELLING airsoft guns? That didn't make good sense to me. Did I miss something? LOL!

I believe that his range of customers are mostly aged 13-15 who want real looking guns. So if i was a kid looking for a realistic gun, it wouldnt matter to me wether its a dying sport as long as i got some action with my super duper awesome bb gun that the other kids dont have.

Dont forget its mommy and daddy paying for it for the kid that ends up on CBC

The simple solution to this problem is to play outdoor games, which are way better than indoor anyway. Sure, you don't get to play as frequent but then you don't have to deal with a douche.

Which is why Im looking to get me a VSR-10 here some time soon so I dont have to go back there any more.:D Played there last thursday, it went ok but it was the younger guy there so that helped a little. Never seems like he wants to be there at all lol mind you to us its fun for him its a job like any other I guess. Really thought with a cab running threw there. There would be alot more damage then there was but it looked pretty good considering what happened.

He tells kids that airsoft is dying because he wants to make his place feel more unique and keep his lucrative business. He wants kids to think that the only place to play and buy airsoft is from Lasertrek and that they have no option but spend their money there. He doesn't want people finding out about the other airsoft clubs in Alberta or online like JOC/ASC.

Consequentely, you have kids paying $600 a very used 5 year old stock plastic guns from the wall at that place.

it was about october/november of last year. jihad joe tried to make arrangements with him and blew a fuse at him. causing larry to say no. but im a little more P.R. so i called larry directly and convinced him to give us thursdays as a start. we eventually moved to wednesdays and dealt with tim. also, the reasons that his indoor airsoft is so "original and one of a kind" is cause laserquest wont allow it. i have talked to laser quest (which is a nation wide bussiness) and the only reason they dont allow indoor is because thier insurence company wont shift one policy for one location. it would have to be something covering all locations across canada.....something to look at as this is ASC.....

Hey i noticed your thread posted and hahah thank god someone else thinks lasertrek is terrible! i was there with some friends and they wouldnt let me play because of the fps on my gun, but the only person who had a problem was the fat guy in the chair! demanding a refund of the arena fee and going home disapointed i swear i will never go there ever again. i think people need to know the truth about airsoft to expand the sport and not get scared off by people like him!
