I am in the exact same boat. Switched to the full stock and everything. I am on business day 13, but I have patience. Seeing all the good reviews of shootsoft.ca and everything, I have confidence that I just need to wait to get my new airsoft gun.

I've already ordered mags, rail covers and a red dot sight for the gun and I just hope everything fits. TokyoSeven already helped me with some stuff.

order status

Well I placed my order today for the crane stock version, like in Toykoseven's review. When I email Shootsoft today, they said they had them in stock.

I can wait, as some of us know Toronto is still covered in snow and it will be awhile before its all gone.

anyone know the size of bushings for this gun, when upgrading?

TokyoSeven March 11th, 2008 16:02

6mm bushings. But be warry, not all brands fit perfectly, or alteast not all brands worked with mine. I notcied systema bushings didnt seat properly in the mechbox. But due to the insane amount of shimming that was required, it wasnt so bad in the end.

I just fielded my HK416 yesterday after Matt and Dave swapped out the spring at FR Indoors. (Thanks alot guys)

I chrony'd 408 fps with .20's, 350-380 fps with .25's on the stock spring.
After putting in what is believed to be a m100 spring, it chrony'd 340-350 fps with .20's and 310-320 fps with .25's.

It fired 12 bps through the crony.

I had alot of fun with my 416. Feels awesome, sounds nice. good grouping after the hop-up was adjusted.

No problems feeding, except SOMETIMES the first round would double.

I noticed that I had to aim a little high using the stock iron sights, but it shot nice and straight.

The only negatives I have to say is the pistol grip feels a little cheap, my front RIS wobbled a bit (I fixed this by putting a small amount of tape on the tab that comes from the upper receiver RIS and into the front RIS ), this put a VERY small downward angle on the RIS, very small but now the gun is very solid.

This is my first AEG so I can't offer advanced information, just what I've experienced.

All in all, this AEG is quite awesome, no complaints at all. I'll definitely buy another JG.

Thanks for reading

Just received mine. HOLY HOTSHIT BATMAN!! This thing shoots HOT....

432.8
414.3
465.5!!!!!
420.9
418.2

Average: 430.4

Looks like this thing needs a new spring....

And thought I would add - the rails on mine have some pretty sharp edges. I don't think it would be too hard to get cut on them. I'll be hitting them with a dremel to smooth off the sharp parts, and definitely getting some rail covers.

Dont forget to adjust your hopup!

Im glad you enjoy Crunch, its a good gun, once you get a weaker spring in there you'll notice a little kick up in the ROF but nothing that you should worry about. About those rails though, yeah some people have said that they can be somewhat sharp. I was lucky with mine as it had no real sharp edges at all. Your right though, a simple dremeling will fix it all.

Crunchmeister March 13th, 2008 18:02

Hmmm... just took the upper receiver off. The mechbox is black and looks identical to yours, TS, but it's stamped UTG instead of SB.

And yeah, I'll more than likely install the stock spring from my CA M15 in this gun. It was a bit more powerful than the stock TM spring, shooting in the 310-320 range. I fired a few more shots thru my chrony, and I had several that clocked in at over 450 fps. That's just crazy.

The Saint March 13th, 2008 18:09

Such a hot spring on plastic bushings, bah.

It'd probably chrony consistently over 450 if one cleans up the cylinder and piston assembly. Whatever lube they used in there was both too thick and too much.

Im looking to put a tightbore barrel into mine, can someone tell me what length I'll need?

Here's a pic of my mechbox and the UTG stamping.

And peeking down inside the body, it does appear to have nylon bushings.

The one that came in my gun was silly retarded short, like under 300mm short, I cant remeber the exact length since I dont have the gun with me right now.

Hey Crunch, its a good base, but shes needs a little tiny fine tuning,a new spring, new bushings, and a good grease and shim job and she'll be up to speed.
