Hi, Steve here. I'm just getting back into milsim after a long, long lull (close to 20 yrs). Originally got interested back in 1977-78 when spring guns were just coming out and they fired plastic pellets (the ones shaped like the Crossman pellets). Moved over to paintgun combat during the 80's, and milsim with BBs in the early 90's before putting it all aside for other commitments (university studies).

Now getting back into the sport, and can see that it's matured further that I ever expected, both in technology and community!

Connections: looking to find an age verifier within a 1-hr drive of Kitchener-Waterloo, Ontario. I have not looked at the AV board to find one yet, but will after this posting.

Connections II: also looking for a club or group in my local area (Waterloo Region and surrounding areas) to potentially join. Any leads would be appreciated.

TM/CA storefronts: Wow, trying to find a TM/CA dealer is almost like trying to find hen's teeth. Anyone know a reputable dealer? Other manufacturers I'm looking at includes RCS, VFC & Ares, but I'm not familiar with their reliability/durability histories. My preference is for guns that have high reliability, and as much metal as possible. (No, I'm not an elitist - I believe in buying things once, and keeping it in service for years. Long-term cost savings is more important than lower up-front costs, imo.)

My name is Kyle, I am 18(as of today!). I am an ex paintballer, I’ve grown board of it over the last 5 years of playing so I am now looking to find a new sport to fulfill my military interests.And I got board of the mess. Ever since I was young I have loved everything military, so the milsim aspect of airsoft has drawn me to it. Another interest of mine is going shooting real steel, I don’t have my Pal yet (soon as school is out I will be getting it) but my dad does so I take every chance I get to get out and shoot. Its one of my favorite pass times, so airsoft is just a no brainer haha.

I already have a AEG, just waiting on a replacement switch as mine was defective. Hopefully its back up and running within the next few weeks so I can get out and play!

I've played two games now, once with the BAAR guys two weeks ago and I attended the zombie game in Picton (holy shit that was amazing). Hey, just thought I'd take the time to actually introduce myself. My name is Mason, I'm 23, and am only a few months into airsoft. I currently have a few guns (m4, s&w mp40, Mauser). I'm in the process of getting age verified, so I hope that's done soon so I can take a look at the shop.

I've always prefered the long rifles over assault rifles, and the stealth and scout aspects draw me toward a sniper/ designated marksman role. But I understand that I'll be playing my first few (5+) games with my m4. Any advice for someone new to the sport and into the long shot?

Hi! My name is Carter. I am 17, and live in Calgary Alberta. I'm having trouble getting out to ANY game due to buying guns that come broken, or that basically have too many flaws to run. I (like everybody here) am interested in airsoft. I'm registered on JOC as gocanucks4ever (Yeah, I know, not the best choice of names for an airsoft forum.) My experience in Air Cadets has taught me how to take orders and now the skills for giving them out :). I passed our basic survival course with a 98% average (as would all of you, most likely, it wasn't hard) and went through our rifle coach camp (mostly gun safety).After that there isn't much related to airsoft I really know, except for legal things, which mostly seems to boil down to common sense. I hope to be of help to the forum, make usefull posts and to actually get into airsoft soon.

My name is Steve. I'm 36, and I'm just becoming interested in Airsoft. I started working at Supply SGT, and half the people that come in there are airsoft guys, and they've been bugging me to go play, so I went and checked out capitol airsoft this evening.

The guys there were really helpful, and allowed me to fire quite a few guns to see what I liked, I decided to buy one from one of the staff... I think he goes by Phoenix here?

Anyway, about me... I've done a myriad of jobs over the years, including the canadian military, americian police force, tons of security and close protection duty jobs, and bouncing, and yes, now, Supply SGT. I'm an avid gamer, I like long walks on the beach (so long as they involve women and frosty cold beverages)... Bah, anything else you wish to know, just ask.

Terry won a pair of Glock 32c's from buyairsoft.ca, and have plans to buy either a sniper or an AK47 for me, and another rifle for him. We live 30 min east of Toronto (Oshawa if you live in the GTA)

Don't buy a sniper rifle, even with the best ones you will have to replace almost every part of it; the average price ends up at over $1000.
Also don't buy a sniper, slavery is illegal.

I've been invested in Paintball for a short while, and after painting my marker in camo a friend said "It'd look better with a functioning magazine and no hopper".
I figure since I already have all the combat gear, I might as well get a gun and play more combat sports.
I work currently at National Oilwell Varco, and like to read, paint miniatures, and game across all platforms. I started into SCSs (Sim Combat Sports) to help get into better shape, because CoD wasn't helping that at all
I've decided to register here to hope to benefit from the communities collective knowledge as I have yet to get a gun or actually play.
I'm also on EAR under the same username and will be AV'd as soon as I can get to Capital Airsoft in Edmonton.

My name is Joseph, about to turn to a respectable age of 30. I am currently located in Hong Kong but I used to live in Markham.

I actually moved to HK about 4 years ago and started playing airsoft around 2 years ago. The game is totally different here because the paid fields are small, limited power (1.2J for most public games at the paid fields), and there are ALOT of zombies. I currently own a JG G36E, Star SL8 and a Marui PX4. I think I'm in the middle between a newbie and experienced right now.

Knowing that I'll soon or later come back to Canada, joining this forum is a must. I am also hoping to get AV'ed when I get back to Toronto at the end of August (2011).

Welcome to ASC....that is a good question for the AK Thread, you will probably get more responses there if you repost. Go to airsoft media then find AK thread...

Go with what you think is going to make you happy. You definitely cant go wrong with a AK. The most important thing you have to do though is go to a Age Verifier if your over 18 and get verified. Once your Av'd you can go to all the restricted parts of the site such as classifieds and the AV retailer thread. Also people on this forum will be more helpful to you when you ask questions in regards to what make of gun to buy and where to purchase airsoft guns.

Hi everyone! My name is James =]

I'm new to airsoft, my best friend actually bought me an Echo 1 AK-47 for my birthday about 3 weeks ago. Over those few I've learned a lot about airsoft =P. I was able to change the spring on my AK cause it was firing too hot, so now I should be able to attend games soon! I live in Brampton Ontario, anyone else around here? And i got AV'd at Army Issue, just waiting for the admins to process it. Hope to see some of you around! Can't wait to play =D

I am Duke. I am in London On and have an AGM MP44 and a Cybergun SOCOM M14. I am in the process of upgrading the M14 into a dual purpose sniper rifle-fire support weapon (as it has full auto and all). I have only played a couple of times with small groups. I am looking forward to playing bigger games, maybe I'll get down to Adrenaline soon. Does anyone here live in London and go to Flagswipe Mondays?

My name is Borko and i am from Bosnia.. I am in airsoft world for about 3 years and i have King Arms M4a1 (with major inner upgrade). My team is trying to reenact Canadian Army (actually we are trying to reenact PPCLI), and that is why registered here.. In Bosnia, it is IMPOSSIBLE to get any kind of Canadian equipment (i am talking about army issue equipment, uniform, etc, etc), so i will check here if someone sells some interesting things like...hm..anything that PPCLI uses...

hio my names is Magic im from the west side of Toronto and am 26 and i always have held an interest in everything Hunting/firearms. I grew up with a strong military influence due to family friends and generations of farmers and hunters in my family. Unfortunately i never got the blessing from family to join the military so now im just a plain old civilian looking for a fun and active hobby. Im not gona tell you guys everything about myself because what is a Man without his secrets lol. One thing i will share is that this is I think the 3rd or 4th forum i have ever been a part of so please don't be offended if i don't reply within a couple of hours or even a few days .
i have lots of questions about the sport but i wont ask any here cuz i don't want ppl telling me Noob.... Use the search option... learn how to use internet...ect. lol i don't have the longest attention span so i tend not to sit here and go over every page of the forum and i just believe in face to face engagements (guess im old-school like that).
so hope to see and meet some of you at an event soon and get age verified so i might be able to get some gear and enjoy some good times.

I'm new to airsoft (have yet to play a match) but very interested in it. I'm overseas at the moment in Japan (sure wish importing airsoft wasn't impossible!) and a bunch of my friends in Toronto have taken up the hobby.

Looking forward to giving it a good go to see what they're all so obsessed about!

I've done some paintball in the past, but it was a bit too, uhm, messy (in many ways, not just the actual tags) for my liking, so I have a feeling that this will be all that I was looking for in tactical gaming!

Hello everyone. I'm James. I've been out to watch a game before, but never played a real game before. I live on campus at the University of Guelph, but also spend the occasional weekend at home in Ayr. I've tried paintball before, but it was too unorganized and saturated in twelve year olds with no trigger discipline so I'm hoping airsoft will be a bit better (especially with real cap magazines). If anyone knows fields near here other than Flag Raiders let me know.

the reason why I signed-up for ASC is because back then the only option I knew when buying airsoft was through ASC's classifieds. I got 'age verified' late last year. lol

I am in the healthcare field (work in nursing home) and still planning my course of action which is going back to school as a fine arts student.
