Hi guys,

Is there any of you that has a broken FN 5-7 and willing to sell some parts? If not, are there any of you who dissasembled the pistol and willing to take some photos of a specific part FN-38 (firing pin) ? I would like to build one as there are no chances to get a new one from Marui.

Regards,

Iulian

You can only get parts in the age verified sections of this site.

Age verified? That's impossible. I'm from Eastern Europe. How can I do that?

oh then you could probably ask here: http://www.airsoftcanada.com/forumdisplay.php?f=215
or you could order directly from TM

Hi, has anyone installed the CNC aluminum inner slide? Just wondering what exactly it does and if changes the feel.

Read lurkingknights review. I will be ordering one as soon as my paycheque comes in.

I did...

there's no real difference for what i've noticed. difference in the weight is barely noticeable (for me at least... i can't tell for others...)

What it does is that it prevents the front portion of your slide from cracking.
It's something that most Marui 5-7s suffer from.

To me the "feeling" of the gun gave it a bit of a slower return slide stroke when I charged the slide. Then again, there were all kinds of crap installed in my Tokyo Marui FN 5-7 anyways.

But again, as specified above, the weight difference between the stock plastic one and the Creation one is...not as much. You'll hardly notice it because that gun packs quite a wallop in terms of recoil to begin with.

Thanks for the inputs.

Yep...inner slide when down. Mine went in about 10 mags. One of the little screws that go into the inner slide vertically also is missing now. The loose part interferes with slide release. Looks like new inner slide is in my near future.

That happened to me too. I found a microscopic screw from an old watch that fit, put it in with threadlocker and I've had no issues since.

I have a used, definitely not abused, TM 5-7 on its way to me with some mags and a threaded outer barrel. I'm just curious if there is anything I should expect to be worn or break easily, any immediate checks/maintenance that could/should be done?

EDIT: After a read-through of the first post I can see the only thing I should check is proper air seal and reinforce the inner barrel section that mated with the hop unit to keep the inner barrel from being damaged. Would this be an accurate assessment?

The problem mentioned above happened to me the day I got the gun, but after I put in a replacement screw with threadlocker I've had no issues, no misfeeds, no jams. My outer barrel is still doing fine with the hop up chamber, no movement yet. I did however order a metal inner slide as a preventative measure.

Yes, there are 3-4 weakpoints to the gun

front of the outer slide (the pvc weld is usually fails on the front face)

outer barrel mount point to the hop up unit (pot metal posts in hopup unit not properly secured to the outer barrel.

hammer assembly in the beavertail portion of the lower frame (weakens over long term, eventually tears screw mounts out of the frame)

The tiny screws in the slide secure a bridge plate that mate the inner slide and blowback unit together and combine it into the full inner slide assembly. This entire structure really just floats inside the outerslide minus a couple points.. I think rear sight is the rear mount point, even then the sight floats in the outer, it's just cinched down to the outer slide.

The solutions in this thread deal with snugging the outer barrel into the hopup so there's less slop.

Every GBB owner should know enough to use some loctite on all the screws in their guns, the 5-7 is especially needy of this... there's slop in a lot of places that give enough room to vibrate screws out.

Good info guys, thanks.

Edit: Out of curiosity, where are you guys getting the majority of your replacement/upgrade parts for it?

Feel free to PM me if preferred.

ViR December 11th, 2013 14:21

Or post the replacement/upgrade parts here for everyone to know :)

I've ran thru 20 mags on my 5-7 and so far no issues. Mags are awesome.. no leakage what so ever!
