Just a question for you guys: What kind of accuracy are you guys getting out of your open bolt M4s?

I'm routinely able to group rounds in the 10 MOA area at both 30 ft (1 inch grouping) and 60 ft (2-2.5 inch grouping). I'd like to know if this is on the low end or the better end of expected performance out of these guns, before I start throwing funds at accuracy upgrades. Groupings were done at bench rest, firing five rounds off a full magazine at a target.

I'm able to get about the same accuracy as you do Synergy. Instead of a target, my friends and I set up a man-sized scarecrow.

At 30 feet, a full magazine usually renders 100% accuracy.

At 60, I'd say 25 of 30 shots are on target.

My M4 is completely stock as far as internal upgrades go, except the RA-Tech blue hop-up rubber.

I noticed that your hop-up is listed as a Modify. Are you using the VSR-10 design? If so, how do you like it. I was thinking of picking one of those up in the near future to give it a shot. Pun intended.

It's a very nice hopup rubber. I've teflon taped mine to avoid air leakage, and it's extremely consistent- I remember back when I didn't know any better, the WE rubber was giving me 10" groupings at 45 feet, which was laughable compared to the 2" I'm getting now. It is the VSR-10 type. I've been looking forward to trying another rubber eventually, but this one works well for now.

What barrel is the silver one, it sure isn't a WE open. Is it a closed?
