Realistic replicas-yeeeeah! Albeit, there seems to be a merger of the 2 sports trying to happen. How so you say quasimodo? Look @ gbb rifles. What about those 6mm p-balls Ra-Tech has made? Highly pigmented bb's? I think it's realistically possible that there is a place for p-ball in airsoft. Seriously. I would'nt mind doing some milsim games (cqc?) using p-balls, just not w/ something that looks like a plumbing experiment gone bad. On another note, magpul pts is supposed to be coming out w/ the bushy acr w/ quick change capabilities between electric and drop-in gbb. Can you say good bye to split p-balls in your rifle w/ out stripping the gb? Now if someone would invent a hop set-up for use in 6mm that would cross-over to 8mm for us all around freaks. Time to ready myself for the insueing barbeque.

funny how he goes off about how it'll be cheaper for the poor kids.. meanwhile all you can hear in the background is a shit load of paintballs behing fired off contently.

I agree with .40 cal, seems stupid to have another one in the middle from the standard .68

I say this, to hell with paintball. Airsoft provides things that paintball will probably never be able to, atleast until it basically becomes an airgun with the added factor of the paint bullet.

People can afford paintball.. Hell, When there was 'Walk-on' Nights in my local PB Field, All you saw was $800+ Guns.. I was the only one with a 'Shitty $400 Autococker'.

And let me tell you, I sat behind those bunkers, and just plucked people off. I could see the stream of paint coming towards me, and I just ducked back down..

Paintball is about a stand off, and Luck.
Airsoft is about realism, and Precision.
^^ At least, that's the way I look at it.
I got into airsoft because of the realism factor. Paintball can't come close for the realism.

Yup actually I do.

A group named DeathKorp Assault Team (DKAT).

http://www.deathkorp.com/phpwebsite/

We used to play paintball with them a few years ago.

When we told 'em we were leaving paintball for airsoft, they couldn't understand why at all.

They told us that they left airsoft because it wasn't hitting hard enough and that it wasn't making enough noise either.

I really dont regret my decision to sell my old euhm, A-5 G36 lol.

Long live ASC.

I got into airsoft for the realism behind it all, but there is one thing about airsoft that pisses me right off. I have seen too many guys run around with highly upgraded airsoft guns, using Lipo batteries, giving the gun a similar rate of fire to that of a speedballers paintball gun. To me this is not "realistic" and still so many people in the airsoft community do it. I feel like too many airsofters share the "speedballer" mentality yet because their gun doesn't have a hopper full of paintballs they say its more realistic.

Realism to me is so much more than just what the gun looks like. I have no use for a gun that chews through plastic, yet so many other airsofters depend on it. I run semi auto most of the time, and I choose my shots. Sadly there are too many guys out there that spray as much as they can at a target, hoping they get the kill. In my opinion this leaves much "realism" to be desired. I find there is a lot of "realism" actually missing from the airsoft scene here in Canada, yet so many preach about it being so important.

Just my two cents

Just my opinion.

One word. Tentacles.

The guy in the vidio is Richmaon italia, He has personally started most of the Big trends in Paintball. He is all business. and there's nothing wrong with business.
He and the gardners will push 50 cal into a dominate force in Pball like it or not and then move on when it becomes mainstream.

50 cal uses 1/2 the resources of 68 to make, package, and ship, so, sombody will make money on it.
The truth is that 80% of people playing Paintball will be new to it in this year. most only use thier gun 3 times. These numbers are much different in Airsoft.

Good? bad? Ugly? it's all of the above.

swatt13 November 25th, 2009 15:10

well he is right. i dont play paintball anymore, i stopped playing pb for plenty of reasons and the cost was one of them. i think the man is a genius. from what i take it seems a bag of paint 'll cost about $20 and youll get 45% more product in a bag, so thats pretty exciting. that also means they can start making pb gun more realistic like real action markers as the markers can be smaller, more diverse/ specialized dimensions/ shapes. ie more realistic, which will help us out as in if realistic paintball markers become standard/ popular it can blanket ours with hte same acception/ freedom.

i like it that spretty cool, i wont stop playing airsoft for it tho, but it makes the sport a little more respectable/ cooler.

Forever_kaos November 25th, 2009 15:22

So, okay Balls cost less.
I can see ballers shoot ten times more then they usually do.

Sure the cost and realism of paintball may change, but you still have the mindset of players to contend with.

Airsoft is great in every way to me.
I've never had some guy come up 10 feet away and light me the hell up.
In airsoft sure I've had a guy 5 feet away shoot me, but it was just once and in the ass. I'm totally okay with that in some shape or form.

There is too many reasons why I don't like Paintball and never will.
I never think the 2 will come close when you contend the way both parties think and act.

your completly right kaos, the mind sets are undenyably different and im glad we are segregated, but you can agree there are planty of airsofters that belong in paintball due to theyre mindset, but unfortunatly theyre not there, theyre here. the more realistic the sport get the more reasponsible youd expect it to get.
