Finally got my MP7 and 4 extra mags (40 round). The store at Toryork still had some 40 round mags in stock and the one around Weston and HWY 7 had two left if anyone in the GTA is looking for mags.
I am loving this thing... Just wondering what is my best option for making its FPS CQB friendly (specifically Ultimate Airsoft friendly). I am thinking of either buying the CQB bolt (not exactly sure what it is) or getting RAtech NPAS. MP7 owners please give me some more of you insight regarding this matter. |
Wouldn't using duster instead of green gas/propane be ideal for CQB use or is it still too high of velocity? I'm thinking the same thing about running this indoor and outdoor...

Duster brought my 402fps mp9 down to 320 FYI
|
If you don't want to run duster, get a low power bolt from KWA. Very easy to swap. My local MP7 expert says that the NPAS's break: haven't checked mine to confirm, but I'll believe him. (Also, have not put very many rounds thru mine since I put in the NPAS.) Planning to purchase a LPB myself when I get organized...

I remember reading the low power bolt only bringing it down by 50 fps though. If its already 400 that won't make it cqb legal... Anyone got any chrono numbers for it?
|
The low power bolt is a normal bolt with a tighter rocket valve.
It drops the FPS down to about 330 fps. But if you don't plan on fielding your gun outside, then you can only but the low-power valve for MP9 (it's the same). Cost about 10$. http://i106.photobucket.com/albums/m...ocketValve.jpg |
the low power bolt direct from kwa dropped the fps on my mp7 from 410 to 300.
I'm going to replace the valve in the stock bolt to drop 20fps so I can use the gun outdoors if the need arises. Quote:

my Mp7 was chronoed an average of 340fps without dial down the hop up in last year's OP Athena, again chronoed 320fps with hop up turned down in UA this year.

Having the cqb and high power (original) bolts is nice because you can simply swap between the 2 for cqb and field use. I am still absolutely loving this gun. Its so manoeuvrable and easy to handle. Swapping between strong and weak side shooting is a breeze. Using .25's with the cqb bolt is proving to be the best for accuracy and time to target for indoor, while .30's with the high power bolt carry their distance quite well.
Can't say enough good things about this mp7. I might have to pick up another one as a backup! |
My gun got delayed till Monday. Dang...
This is all great info. What is duster? Is that a gas? I watched a few YouTube vids and one guy added a few extra notches in the stock where he liked it. Everyone that reviews the gun loves it. |
Got my MP7 today, one question, how do I get that orange tip off?

Here is a good video on how to do it. HOW TO: KWA MP7 Flash Hider Removal - YouTube Careful when you are pulling off the tabs though. I broke both of mine, so my front end part is held together by ziptie. You can use 100% acetone (nail polish remover) to get off the orange tip. Be sure to separate your outer barrel and the flashhider. Once you do that, you can leave it in acetone and wipe off the excess orange paint from the flashhider. |
the front cap is ridiculously brittle I also broke a tab removing my flash hider.

I had to be really careful with mine since I wanted to save the USP Tactical's threading. |
