also, I wasnt asking the same question! I was musing over how this could happen, because that thread said it couldnt!

Chances are if the agent who inspected the package is found they will lose their job.

Second, that is pretty blatant smuggling not to mention that it's a gun that's been taken apart, if I were a customs agent that would totally raise a red flag for me.

If you're really 19 use some common sense.

Finally, do you ever want to work with children or the elderly? If so then you probably would want a clean criminal record. ie. Smuggling charges aren't cool. Ever want to work as an Accountant? Engineer? Teacher? Doctor? Lawyer? All those professions (and more) have requirements for entrance into their professional bodies/associations and if you can't get entrance you won't be able to practise.

Oh wait.... what's this? Someone was arrested for smuggling guns into Canada? Unthinkable! Your one single anecdotal case overrides any other possibility!

Simply put, it is illegal to bring or ship an airsoft gun across the border (edit: without the proper licensing that retailers have), customs will not intentionally allow it passed, and will confiscate it, and you may face criminal charges for attempting to "smuggle" it in.

As has been said many times, do not try it, it is stupid.

Some parts can be imported, the thread that has been linked about 4 times now explains this.

However these parts will only make it across if they are not shipped with restricted items (like a gun or receiver for a gun), and if customs doesn't take it for the hell of it.

Your friend's gun was not disassembled at the boarder. If they find it they seize it. Figure it out.

I know you said you were 19 but you act as if you're 13 so I thought I'd give you a chance to come clean.

I think it's a "really good idea" for you to buy a gun from outside of Canada, heck buy 2 ... no get 3. Invest all of your money on buying guns from outside of Canada, "thats what I think you should do".

Edit: Just go get AV'd if you're actually 18+, lots of all black/metal guns to be had on this very site with no illegal smuggling attempts.

oh well i decided im going to buy the jg sig 552. btw, im 17, i just thought no one would help me if i was underage. sorry to cause trouble, ill just paint the damn thing black

crashonskis January 30th, 2011 19:00

and about the friends gun: thats really weird. it came and the bbs had been cleanly cut open ( im assuming to check if anything was hidden) and it showed signs of disassembly.

Kozzie January 30th, 2011 19:07

Right.. good luck with your gun Sig's are awesome I have one. The Sig body is usually painted dark grey, make sure you get a flat spray paint anything gloss looks funny and can give away your position.

Edit: lots of people paint their gun even if it isn't clear. Check out this thread http://www.airsoftcanada.com/showthr...ight=paint+gun See google and youtube re: How to paint your gun.

Lying.....

We do help people who are underage but the line stops when they ask about procuring guns. Hell even if you're AV'ed it can't be posted in the public sections it has to be posted in the Wanted or AV only sections.

There's lots of minors who come here asking for advice, we will help them (as long as it's a reasonable request and they've searched for it first) but we have to draw the line at actively helping to procure guns for them.

Also if the gun actually was disassembled (at the border) then someone clearly isn't doing their job and could be fired or possibly charged with accessory to smuggling or conspiracy to smuggle. There is only one redeeming quality that may get a gun released but by disassembling it, all is lost because it's also trying to hide the fact that it's a gun/gun parts.

NB: You may order non prohibited ACCESSORIES and PARTS from overseas/across the border but not guns. Read the FAQ on what items are prohib/non prohib. (ie. you can order barrels, stocks, internal parts, gearboxes, rails, batteries, slides etc. but you may not order receivers and pistol frames (and sometimes prohib length slides will get scrutinized more))

Those "replica guns" he got busted for, were they Airsoft or just other "replica" guns? Just curious...

Please refrain from lying about your age as it is detrimental to your time here. Mainly because it makes me want to ban you.

Keep your nose clean, you be on very thin ice now.
