Danners stomp ass. But avoid the GTX II Side Zip. Fall apart way too quickly.

Got some Ridge Airtac boots, they are great, but i hate black. I've got a pair of cheap tan boots from an american K mart, they are great, but i'm planning on buying a nice pair of 6 '' oakley SI boots.

Magnum quality has dropped while every other manufacturer has improved. Finish on toes peel. Try the new Danner Tac boots they are reasonable and comfortable. I have worn Magnums, (still have them but wont wear them), the last 2 pairs of 5.11's I got I returned for less than waterproof issues. I highly recommend the Danners. I wear them at least 12 hours a day, and they keep on going.

The newer models look much better, so old. I have an old pair of invisible, I still battle with today's fitness test, because there are quite broken. In their terrible shock, but they are comfortable. Permeability of a new guide looks very beautiful.

i wouldnt say everyones has improved i went through 2 pairs of oakley boots in 3 months and that was stretching it id say they were done with in 2. original swats arent bad and priced the same as magnums

Got me a pair of the magnums wear everyday 12 hr shifts had for 3 months now still like new! Love the cut out in back for driving. No water infiltration yet, scuff pad still in good shape ... Im quite happy with them. :)

I used to wear 5.11's. Comfortable and lightweight. Went through one pair every 6 months or so. Maybe a little longer.

Coworker wears magnums. Goes through one pair every 3 months and hates them. He's currently looking for another brand to try.

I am currently trying Original swats. I like them so far. 6 months on them and still going. Had a definite break in period for me (one to two weeks).

I also have a pair of Matterhorn that I've had for years. Replaced the sole and still good to go. Not really a "running shoe" build and has no side zip option though. I imagine Danners are about equivalent as another of my co workers wears them and they look very similar.

How did he go through a pair of Magnum's in 3 months? I've had two pairs and they have each lasted me 2 years or more. I wore the sole's out on the first ones so i replaced em. The soles are pretty much toast on my current pair so im gonna have to replace em now. I hate Original SWAT. I hate the look and the laces. Ive heard mixed reviews about em.

Ive seen the Matterhorn boots and ive been curious to try them. Corcoran boots are made by the same people i think. They have a Paratrooper boot i like.

He's a big guy and we're very hard on our footwear. I work with him most of the time so I've personally watched that pair from new to it's current state.

I still use a shitty pair of Garrison boots myself, but i tried on two of my officers boots on and i accidentally put two different boots on mistaking them for the same because they looked so similar. one of the boots being a Original Swat and the other being a magnums, personally i liked the Swats better then the magnums and defiantly for the price for the price.

i was actually pretty darn close to grabbing a pair of these, but now im having second thoughts about it.
If you dont mind, i was wondering what your occupation is?

I have a pair of magnum 6 inch wp boots. Have had them for 6 months and I've been really pleased with them. They've been waterproof and fairly warm even without wool socks during the winter. Haven't fallen apart on me at all just take proper care of them and you can wear them all day without issues. I'd recommend them but haven't tried many other pairs except for my tan/Camo Avirex steel toed boots they are good as well and work with my multicam setup too.

We do just over 11,000 steps in a day. While that might not be excessively high the average person takes 2,500 steps in a day. I hope that helps.

While some of these boots may last longer than others one of the most important things is the fit. Some boots will fit your foot better than others. He doesn't like the magnums but they may be fine for you. My advice would be try them on where available and see for yourself.
As far as durability goes though my experience suggest that many of the other boots will last longer than Magnums.
