They actually look exactly the same in the front.

He's already built. I'm just trying to keep him from falling apart.

Hey Scoob-you said the fit and finnish is better on the Hurricane than the PGC but in the pic from the rear, the frame to slide rails tolerances look really sloppy compared to most of the PGCs' I've seen,or is it just the lighting?

Damn sexy.

I'd love to build one... some day...

Please do! They're amazing to shoot and so much fun to customize.

PS... nice grip panels on the black warrior. ;)

I'm surprised at how white it is compared to the Hurricane version.

Do the Hurricane or the PGC allow you to use RS grip bushing? Then you can use RS hex head screws...

Hi! Greetings from France ;)

I just stumbled across this thread by chance today after playing around with my own HurricanE Kimber Desert Warrior kit.
This is the first metal conversion kit I ever use so I can't really compare ease of installation with other products.

However, I did want to mention the fact that I've experienced a couple of issues with my kit.
I believe ILLusion and DuffMan have underlined problems with the trigger group. I had the exact same issues that were finally solved by sanding down slightly the corners above the "channel" in which runs the trigger stirrup. That area of the kit is pretty rough and the trigger stirrup would get caught up and wouldn't travel all the way back once the trigger was released making it impossible to fire the next shot..
Another problem I've had is that it is sometimes impossible to put on the ambi-safety because the hammer hasn't been brought down completely by the slide.
After a little more research it would seem that the nozzle block grinds pretty badly on the whole trigger group just below. This issue is not present on the original Tokyo Marui MEU.

The last little thing I've come across is that once you've secured the rear sight tightly with the screw provided, the nozzle block is brought down ever so slightly increasing the "grinding" described in the previous paragraph sometimes actually stopping the slide mid-course.

All these issues can be solved with some very light sanding and some intelligently placed lube but I thought it's worthwhile sharing it with you.

The Hurricane Kimber Desert Warrior frame seems to be a little off on the rear section as it is not perfectly symmetrical but this does not have a huge incidence on the general functionality of the gun.

I would be interested to know if anyone has noticed differences in quality between the HurricanE Desert Warrior and SIS kits as I'm on the market for a black Kimber kit also...

On the whole though, I am very happy with this kit despite it's relatively soft metal construction. Dropping it on something hard will make lovely dents and you will loose small chunks of metal... But then again, they're made to look battered, right? :)

Good day to all of you.

oDn

PS: If some people need some photos to illustrate the above, don't hesitate to ask for them.

I have both kits here... when I have a chance, I will install them both and do a write-up.
