You mean buy a cheap drop in mechbox and somehow fabricate a body, hop-up system, barrel, mags and a battery system? Sorry, I'm not following you. As for the kraken, it seems to be very hit and miss. I have heard of some going for 100 000 rounds with no issues; and i have heard of some breaking within the first 100. |

/sarcasm Airsoft is expensive. A "normal" line AEG's costs $500-$600. A "top of the line" one costs over $1,000. The cheapest I'd ever buy is a JG, and they run around $350. You know what.. I don't care. Go waist your money. Don't say we didn't warn you. |

Anyway, the Kraken by itself, is around the crappy-decent part. so my suggestion for you is to buy the Kraken, upgrade the internals, new piston, tapper, cylinder, shim the mech box |

My krakens lasted a lot of BBs. Ive never opened it to clean it either. Have had it for a year, FINALLY cleaned the barrel yesturday. Ohhh yeaaa.
Like what has probably been said, Krakens can be lemons. They can last for a couple months, or a couple years. All depends on if your lucky. :P Raise your luck by +5. Is there any verification that the internals of the kurz are plastic? I'd imagine they'd be the same as the kraken internals, and the kraken has metal internals. |
The reason the Kurz is so much cheaper than the regular Kraken is because.....
it has plastic internals. :( Nothing a $75 drop-in V3 mechbox won't fix. PM for info :P Jeff |
But is there any verification on that? Like, does anyone have a kurz and have pictures of the internals?
|
I looked inside the box this morning :P.
Jeff |
Pics or it didnt happen.
jk Damn. Plastic gears = fail. |
It appears that the mechbox is metal, but everything else is plastic.
@jeff, You know I'll be interested in your v3 mechbox when I come onto the forms screaming and ranting about the mechbox. And, looking at your kurz, what is plastic that is metal in the kraken? |
So, the mechbox is metal but the gears and such are plastic?
|
Who cares. It's crap. Don't buy it.
