PMC is cool, but i still prefer the good ol' mercenary look, the "under the table" guys, that do little dirty work for governments or some big companies in countries you've never heard of.

Sergeantmajor January 23rd, 2008 17:58

those are merc's.

mercs only do it for the money.

White_knight January 23rd, 2008 18:15

technically dont they all do it for money. be it PMC or Merc...people join the army for money. i think its more who you take the orders from.

army -> government
PMC -> government/public officials
Merc -> highest bidder

??

Sergeantmajor January 23rd, 2008 18:22

army and PMC are usually "clean" people. merc's are usually not so clean.

criminal record, etc.

anyways,

could you take some pics of your wasatch? close-up of the mag pouches and stuff like that.

Sounds right, except I'm almost positive PMC is just another word for mercenary.

Sergeantmajor January 23rd, 2008 18:28

Mercenary:
"A mercenary is a person who takes part in an armed conflict who is not a national of a Party to the conflict and "is motivated to take part in the hostilities essentially by the desire for private gain and, in fact, is promised, by or on behalf of a Party to the conflict, material compensation substantially in excess of that promised or paid to combatants of similar ranks and functions in the armed forces of that Party".

The differences I can draw from the two is how you perceive their involvement in whatever they've been hired to do.
